no NCD even after 1 year

Hi I was about to renew my insurance for car (let's call it car A), but in the quotation from all insurance providers, no NCD was given even though this would be the 2nd year, which is entitled for 25% discount.

A little bit of context, last year on 17/10/2023, I renewed car A insurance with 30% NCD. However, on 03/11/2024, I transferred car A NCD to car B. Question is, why am I not entitled for NCD for car A when I renew it for 2nd year? I should be entitled 25% or am I wrong here?

Public Transport or Drive?

I'm going to be working at DC Mall next month, still thinking of what mode of transportation to take, drive or public transport.

I'm coming from Klang (so no LRT no MRT ) so only got KTM, but KTM is not an option for me because it's too unreliable.

Here are a few options that I can think of on top of my head:

1. Drive directly to DC Mall and pay season parking (Damanlela open site parking - RM200ish).

2. Drive to Kwasa Sental MRT Park n' Ride (RM4.30), take MRT to reach Pavillion Damansara (RM50 per month with My50), walk to DC Mall.

3. Drive to Plaza Batai / Jalan Batai, be an asshole and park roadside for free. Risk of saman and towing.

Right now I can think of the 4 options above.

Any other options you guys can suggest?

Reason for purchase: I have 2 Huawei Nexus 6P, both suffering from the famous bootloop of death (BLOD), 1 of them was able to be fixed by [@theshinystar] but he isn't available to do this service anymore. I need someone to fix the other one.

Reason for bootloop, the CPU is Snapdragon 810 with 8 core (4 big, 4 small). There is a bug arising from the CPU that doesn't allow the device to boot due to some technical issues. However, the phone can be revived by disabling the 4 big cores while running only on the 4 small cores.

Hope someone here has the technical knowledge to flash android device.

Thinking of driving grab

As per title?

It makes more economical sense for a person that has no car, to buy a used car and do grab as part time.

but if the car is more than 10 years old, I am unable to drive as it has exceeded the 10 year age limit implemented by Grab.

This begs the question, since there are sooo many cars out there that are more than 10 years old (some even 20) that are still live and kicking well, should cars over 10 years old be allowed to be driven for ride-sharing platforms?

I think yes, but to a certain extend, maybe limit the driver to work for no more than 4 hours per day since it is not a new car and may be prone to breaking down.

However, is there any platforms that allow this for now? I don't think so.

This is a gap to fill in the market right now if Grab doesn't implement it.
