8-months pregnant wife asked to leave w/o notice

URGENT HELP NEEDED! For those who have knowledge in this field, please advise.

My wife is a permanent staff at Company AB for 3 years.

Company AB has 2 divisions: Division A and Division B. My wife works at division B.

Company AB decides to shut down division B and so she is deemed redundant.

On 27 Jan, My wife was asked to leave by end-Feb with Feb pay but without written notice.

Her appointment letter states termination by either party with 2-months written notice.

My wife is 8-months pregnant, 1 more month to go into labour, followed by 2 months confinement.

Employer refuse to pay 2 months notice salary, and refuse to produce a written notice.

As such, she is denied 2 months paid maternity leave entitled to her, and 2 months notice pay.

At this stage of pregnancy, no company will hire her now.

As such, we're left stranded to pay with our hard earned savings for her commitments without a job and no job offers.

Industrial relations say can take the employer to court and will most likely win. But have to pay for lawyer.

Any suggestions on how to go about settling this case without a lawyer?

The company is heartless to deny a pregnant women her 2 months maternity leave entitlement and 2 months termination notice pay.

Hello there!

Before you tell me there're already other threads on this topic, I'm talking about 1st generation versions of these cars. The 2.0L editions.

Yes, I'm thinking of buying one.

You guys probably don't own one, but you would probably have driven one or your father has one.

Please let me have your comments on the PROS and CONS of these cars.

Don't just tell me about high fuel consumption full stop. Please validate it with your best knowledge on litre/km.

Please let me have your feedback on NVH, handling, maintenance issues, acceleration etc.

Thanks much!

Is this 47" LG 3D Smart TV worth it at RM2,500?

Hi all

I've been offered a 47" LG 3D Smart TV at RM2,500. Comes together with 4x 3D polarized glasses.

Is it worth it? Last year's model though.

I've been told over and over again that Sony, Panasonic and Sharp are the best. But how're LG products generally? Is the colour/sharpness quality as good as the Jappos and does it last more than 5 years?

Appreciate your feedback.

KIA SPECTRA5 - RECOMMENDED or NOT?

Anyone with ownership experience of KIA SPECTRA5?

I'm talking about the latter batch of KIA SPECTRA5 with Hyundai G4FC Gamma 1.6 CVVT engine, also used in the Forte.

I'm not talking about the earlier model of Kia Spectra with high fuel consumption and low pick up.

Please share your views if you're a current or previous owner of one, or you have friends owning one and heard of their rants.

How's the fuel consumption?

How's the pick up?

How's the reliability? How problematic?

How's the cost of maintenance and availability of spare parts?

How's Kia service centre treating you?

How's Korean Car Mates if you happen to have had experience with them?

Please do not suggest I get a Kia Forte or any other car, although I welcome a comparison between Spectra5 and Forte.

Supernatural?

As for me, I was reaching a traffic light and as I step on the brakes the car skidded towards the car in front. I couldn't control the car as it just keep skidding forward until it eventually stopped 1 feet away from the car in front. Very frightenning!!!
