Hi everyone,I have a few question that I would like to ask.

I am trying to make a dual boot installation on an old Pentium 4 3.0GHz rig consisting of Ubuntu and XP SP2.
I already downloaded Ubuntu 11 installation disc image but it is sized slightly above a CD-R size at 701 MB.

the idea that I have in mind now is to split the drive into three partitions during XP installation and have XP occupy C: partition.
then,install Ubuntu next in D: partition and E: partition will be used for storing personal data.

I am just a normal dude without computer expertise so I would like to do it as simple as I can.
The reason for me to install Ubuntu is to support freeware and depending less on paid software.

the questions that I have in mind are,
1) I know nuts about bootloader. do i need to install something to use it?
2) Is there anything I can remove from the Ubuntu disc image to make it fit normal CD-R?
3) Will the antivirus in XP interfere with the Ubuntu system files?
4) Does Ubuntu need antivirus? (most PC articles seems o point that Windows = Virus )
5) Does it need the user to search for drivers for addon PCI and USB devices? (Im using external soundcard and also PCI network card)
