WRT54G vs WRT54GL

currently i plan to buy a wireless router for gaming and both torrenting.. but i don't know which 1 to choose between these 2 router. WRT54GL seems better because i seems have more ram than wrt54g and more expensive as well. but i don't know how the real performance does. Currently wrt54g version 7 or 8 i don't know which version is available in lowyat and wrt54gl is available for version 1.1. i don,'t think i will flash it with third party firmware. all i need is a good performance wireless router. so i need some adviceses here.... or does anyone have better suggestion than these 2 router which is most likely below RM200 also welcome. thank you.

correct me if i mention anything wrong also..

i subscibe to streamyx for 2 months already but i have suffer serious lag when i'm playing games especially Warcraft 3 in Bs and and Maple story.

i check my modem and both of them hav good SNR margin and attenuation.

bcoz my house have too many pp sharing the connection so my router always hang so i decide to set my modem to bridge mode and use microsoft ICS to share my connection.
my set up is like this:
i link all the pc, a dlink wireless access point and modem to a d-link 16 ports switch. then i set the modem in bridge mode. i create a dial up connection in my PC and then i share it using ICS on XP sp2, and i put the gateway on other computer as my local ip address.

at first i thought my games lag mayb due to too many connection on my house. so i try juz connect the internet to my pc alone without sharing the connection to other and still my games lag.

and i did a 1/2 hour ping check using command promt on windows on 3 different address, which TMnet DNS server( 202.188.0.133), Google malaysia website ( www.google.com.my) and lastly an overseas website ( www.tomshardware.com). and i get an average 6 to 7 percent package lost on my ping check. and i wonder is this package lost normal?

and what can i do so solve the lag games problems as it bcome quite a frustration to me and my house.
any suggestion?

Problem details
First occurence of problem: long time ago.. forgot wat time d..
Problem frequency: can said tat everyday...
Problem description: slow speed download rate read from the modem page only 32kbps... slower than dial up ><

last time my fren was using the kasda modem... and bcoz tat modem is old 1 and don hav routing feature build in so is very inconvenient and the speed is slow only manage to get 288kbps upstream and downstream. so i thought is modem problems... and i ask him to get a new modem with routing feature... but even worse... now the speed is more terrible... he only manage to get 32kbps downstream and 160 upstream most of the time... only sometimes in day time...(i also dono why day time), and juz discover when also midnight around 3 something >< manage to get up to 800kbps++ downstream and 512kbps++ upstream.

and also when use the kasda the snr margin is around 10 while in dlink i get around 6 for downstream and 12 for upstream.. while when i can get 800kbps++ line speed the snr margin is around 12 for download and 14 upload. and the line Attenuation drop from 60 something to 59....

so what can i or my fren do ??
could it be the phone line problems?
if it is the phone line problems who should i contact? tm o tmnet??
i call the tmnet d.. and still waitng reply from them ...

any suggestion will be very welcome...

linking two router to share only lan?

hi there,
i'm going to move into a new place and i plan to set up a network at my house,there will be around 8 people living under 1 roof.
so...i want to ask that if i have two phone line with two streamyx account and each phone line is connected with a router( most probably wireless with modem), and i want to link both router and if possible share only lan connection for lan gaming and keep the internet seperate for two networks.
can it be done?
and how do i set up?

or i can juz done it with 1 phone line and connect it with 2 streamyx account? so i can save more $$, because i want to register 2 streamyx 1Mbps package...

anyone who have suggestion please feel free to give..

Hi every expert over the forum....
i have a question to ask.....

i saw most of the mobo nowaday support a ram technology call DUAL CHANNEL DDR2.

so dual channel mean can have bandwidth up to 128bit compare single channel only 64bit...and..

bcoz currently i only hav 512MB of ddr2 ram on my pc...and i'm thinking of upgrade it...
but the problems is weather i wan to get another of 1gb of ram o want to buy another 512mb to run dual channel ...

my pc spec is like this:
AMD ATHLON X2 3800+
GIGABYTE GA-M51GM-S2G
GIGABYTE 7300GT
512MB kingston DDR 667mhz
160 GB seagate

izit harddsik problems?

hi i want to ask that after i defragment the notebook and suddenly the notebook hang

and right after that i restart and it take a very long time to start the windows and i heard the sound of the harddisk for the notebook is abit noiser than usual.

my notebook is fujitsu c2220

will it be the problems of the harddisk?
any expert plz help here.

K610i GPRS problems... hotlink

dear experts,

my sis bought a new K610i recenly... and i help her to set up her GPRS
but strangely i get de setting from de hotlink website and i also try configure manually but se GPRS doesn't work
i already activated de GPRS and i can see de bluebar ontop of the singal strenght indicator...lol.. wat is de problems ?? any1 facing de same problems?

and if call to hotlink hotline can get charged if get charge wat is de pirce per minutes..
