salary in other countries

hi guys,

is there any place where we can find what is the minimum salary that we need to earn(in that country's currency) in order to be able to survive in that particular country ? such as US, Switzerland, Austria...

i just thought of aksing it here. how important is the reference you are going to give when you apply for a position ? or usually companies will automatically do some background check in their own way ? any HR people here ? hope to get some pointers here...

hello all...am new here.

just thought of asking here a question, hopefully many can provide your view on this. As you all know, shell is very famous in Malaysia, especially SSB. If after you have work for a number years in SSB, and find that you just got stuck in terms of career, would you jump to another company ? Can be other oil & gas or non oil & gas ( maybe like BASF or BAT )

would you regret to jump out from Shell ? or is it really shell's salary & benefit is the best in malaysia ?

what are the criteria you guys look to jump ?

Hope you guys can provide your insights...especially people who have work with SSB before.
