Friend has decided to take a road less taken

Just sharing my story here. Anyone has encounter similar situation are welcome to add yrs too. thank you.
[True Story]

I have known my friend for nearly 5 years, months ago he has given up everything and become a monk in Thailand. It was not a sudden issue, many times he told me he wanted to be one after graduation. He watches a lot of Buddhism preaching on youtube in thai language (He has thai blood). I thought it was normal. As I watch a lot of law movies too. It is just interest. But I never thought he was so serious about being a monk. After finish studying, he immediately left for Thailand.

It was not like he left after a while. It is like immediately. He did not even tell me, maybe he told me about it but i did not pay much attention but at least he shud gives me a phone call , let me know you are going.. I did not contact him for 2 days only. the 3rd day i tried fb him. I cant find him anymore, he deactivated his account. I called him, his phone was switch off. So i assume he was busy or having problem. So, I tried nearly everyday to call him for 2 month. later, I was quite sure he has become a monk.

Finally, few days ago he called me. My phone rang, i saw it was a foreign number , so i was curious who was that. I picked up, hear his voice , I was so happy. he tells me he is doing well. So i tell him he broken our promise, we agree to sell vegetables together. His job is to grow vegs, while mine was to distribute it using a lorry. I even check out the lorry price bcoz i limited money. so i tell him come back this year, he said no. maybe one more year later. I am sad. Wanted to cry, but i cant, because i m a man. Men do not cry. Men only cry when their parents die. I tell him i will visit him in temple in a few months time as time do not permits me now and i limited cash.

His dream was to become a monk because he told me 3 years ago, maybe now i will pursue my dream too which is getting into politics.

As our conversation comes to an end, I told him i love him, i will wait for him. We will always remain friends.

he is my my jogging partner, my gaming partner, my 'stay-up-late' partner, my meal partner, my 'help-me-to-do-homwork' partner and everything. the good time we spend together in the dorm is now all just a memory. And now he is gone.

I hope mods do not delete this story, as it was written with endless tears flowing down my cheek. It was written using the heart and not the brain. it is like writing a goodbye letter because the sender has to leave his lover. in this case, it just managed to be both very good friends who is close in heart but far in distance.

UPDATED- I am not gay and I don't belong to the LGBT group as some of you suggested. I know there are some of you here who are in a same sex relationship especially the two girls here. I not gonna name them out here so as not to shame them. Ever since the exposure of their sex life, they have not been commenting here anymore. Those of you who are here long enough will know which two I m talking about. In addition, I myself is a anti-LGBT activist. imo, LGBT has no rights in malaysia, and malaysia must never support Seksualiti Merdeka. It is disgusting to see men and men having sex and what more female and female. By supporting LGBT, will leads to end of mankind. The opposition must never support Seksualiti Merdeka and our federal govt too.

Hi there,

I would like to advice the board of lowyat.net to sack the designer or whoever who design the background image in Health & Fitness. This is a serious error which should not be happening. Furthermore, the 'girl walking on air' is a laughing stock among the community.

I hope this silly mistake can be corrected and thus bringing the person who handle the design to book.

City Harvest Church founder Kong Hee and four others, including former board members, were arrested on Tuesday morning following a probe into financial irregularities of the church by both the police and the Commissioner of Charities (CoC).

Among other things, the CoC found financial irregularities of at least $23 million from the church funds. Its spokesman said the funds were used with the purported intention to finance the wife of pastor Kong, Ms Ho Yeow Sun's secular music career to connect with people.

'There was a concerted effort to conceal this movement of funds from its stakeholders,' said the CoC spokesman.

In a statement, the police named the five: church founder Kong Hee, his deputy, Mr Tan Ye Peng, former board member, John Lam Leng Hung, church investment manager Chew Eng Han, and church finance manager Sharon Tan Shao Yuen.

Two years ago, on May 31 2010, the Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) started an investigation into certain financial transactions of CHC after receiving information of misuse of CHC funds.

A police spokesman said that after a thorough investigation, the five would be charged with being in a conspiracy to commit criminal breach of trust as an agent. If convicted, each of them could be jailed for life and fined.

Mr Tan, Mr Chew and Ms Sharon Tan, will also be charged with conspiracy to falsify accounts. If convicted, each could be jailed up to 10 years and fined. All five will be charged in court on Wednesday.

In a separate statement, a spokesman for the CoC said it had launched an inquiry into the church on May 31, 2010 under the Charities Act.

Its inquiry revealed misconduct and mismanagement in the administration of the church, particularly in relation to the funds that were in the Building Fund which had been raised and earmarked for specific purposes.

The CoC spokesman said: 'The COC is concerned about the misconduct and mismanagement in the administration of the Charity.'

With immediate effect, it has suspended the five - along with three others, from holding any post on the church board of management. The three are: executive members Ho Yeow Sun, Kelvin Teo Meng How and Tan Su Pheng Jacqueline. They will be prohibited from taking part or being involved in managing the church, representing it in any matters, or attending any of its Annual General Meetings, Extraordinary General Meetings and Board meetings.

The CoC spokesman added that it will also consider taking further courses of action under the Charities Act against these individuals in order to protect the charitable property of the Charity.

'This may include the removal of these persons from their office as trustee, governing board members, officers, agents or employees of the Charity.'
