Hi,
Didn't managed to find similar topic so I open one thread for this.
I had a question regarding TT to US.
If let's say I already have a US foreign currency account with UOB,

1) Can I direct TT from that account without incurred currency translation loss?
2) Can I transfer money back into that foreign currency account?

Thanks in advance!

KLCI PE Valuation

I do realize that KLCI PE valuation is not readily available for investors, but it is vital for us to keep track of our local composite index PE valuation from time to time, and that's why this thread is opened to discuss and update the PE valuation of KLCI.

There are basically two types of PE valuation for portfolio/index :
1) Simple PE valuation
2) Weighted PE valuation

Both can give very different result and for me the best and most accurate will be using the weighted average PE. To cut thing short below is the FBM KLCI components of our market:

1) Maybank 11) TM 21) RHBCAP
2) YTL 12) TENAGA 22) PETGAS
3) CIMB 13) IOICORP 23) PBBANK
4) DIGI 14) UMW 24) KLK
5) Axiata 15) IHH 25) HLBANK
6) Maxis 16) GENTING 26) FGV
7) UEMLand 17) YTLPOWER 27) ARMADA
8) SIME 18) PCHEM 28) PPB
9) AMBANK 19) ASTRO 29) BAT
10) GENM 20) HLFG 30) PETDAG

By using the simple PE calcualtion of sum all 30 PRICE/Sum of all EPS, here is the PE of our current KLCI:

PE KLCI : 19.12

This simple PE valuation is not enough to justify the current market condition because it doesn't take into account the weigh of each stocks on the market. The weighted average PE will be updated as soon as possible. Stay tune.

Bill Ackman Vs Herbalife Ltd.

Anyone have been aware of this corporate showdown which Bill Ackman, CEO of Pershing Square presented a 3 1/2 hours presentation which targeted on Herbalife corporate integrity and accused its operating a pyramid scheme. The stock tumble more than 40% after Bill Ackman place more than USD 1 billion shorting the stock. It eventually rises when prominent hedge fund managers such as Dan Loeb and billionaire Carl Icahn announce their long position in Herbalife citing a bargain after the 40% tumble.

However, the showdown is still not over. Bill Ackman vow to pursuit this case with the SEC and FTC. If no action is taken, he will push the case to the Congress.

For those who interested in the 342 pages presentation by Bill Ackman, you can download it here

So what do you all think, sifu and guru out there.
MISC BHD share drop

As of this instant the share price of MISC BHD stood at RM4.68. I visit Bursa Malaysia website and found out recently EPF keep disposed this share. Current EPF have around 9% interest in MISC. Anyone can give justification or any news for this. As the action of EPF had affected this share price tremendously. Thanks.
