According to the latest Labour Force in Singapore 2024 report by MOM, the median salary for their employed alumni between the ages of 25 and 29, has reached, as near as makes no difference, S$6,000 (S$5,995 to be exact) last year, inclusive of employer CPF.

It is clear, however, that it pays to study, as the differences add up to tens of thousands of dollars even in early years and compound over time, leading to significant wealth gaps further in life.

While some may still be enamoured by stories of American billionaire dropouts, the statistical facts are that getting that degree is still definitely worth the effort for most people in Singapore.

Efficacy of 2 jabs AZ vs booster?

Good day all

In regards to those having injected 2 jabs of AZ

1. Has the govt. mandated that 3 jabs will be absolute necessary and all existing 2 shots will have their fully vax status stripped
2. If no, can a Company HR impose mandating getting booster shot e.g. 3 jabs, overriding the govt's minimum requirement?

Presently, the Company is telling all hundreds of us to get booster shot by mid of March in line with Company's "policy". I am kinda hesitant to get the extra AZ booster shot. Heck, I'm not even sure if AZ booster shots are still available or it's all mixture with Pfizer now?

Centrifugal Water Pump

My home has recently fit a centrifugal water pump and and the water pressure is pretty impressive. However the renovation guy has said something like tuning the valve few days after cause currently water pressure is too big

I'm just wondering, should the centrifugal water pump be turned off when it's not in use, or it is "smart" enough to have auto trigger?

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed here before, but it's tough to search for it

Why is the existing Sri Petaling line and the Ampang - Sentul timur line is driven by driver while the Putra Heights - KJ / Monorail is auto pilot?

According to Wikipedia, KJ line is the first fully automated and driverless rail system in Klang Valley.

So why can't Ampang line be the same? Does it require any modification to existing track in order to enable the driverless feature? Cause I don't think they plan to make it driverless anytime soon cause the new trains were bought in 2015 (there are tags stating the year of manufacturing/refurbishing and the manufacturer, inside the cabin)

The sizzling sound near energy meter occurred after I tried to switch on some appliance at the outdoor garage, for one second only. That's how I noticed the sizzling sound

Basically the appliance is imported and I used a msian adapter. The Msian adapter has some burned marks (not much), while the appliance plug has no burned marks.

Every now and then, probably once an hour the lights would be blinking for 0.5s or less, indicating instability in voltage right?

I have used the appliance once in another place with extension + ANOTHER msia adapter and it worked just fine

So is the suspect the bad adapter? How to check if the adapter is bad/appliance is bad/unstable voltage in ma house?
How to test if the appliance is working 100% well so that I don't risk frying my whole wiring circuit :confused:

Radiator fan won't work

My radiator fan will not work anymore. I was driving for few consecutive hours and suddenly the aircond isn't cool anymore and the temperature rised to the max bar. There was water inside radiator as well as coolant is left with more than half. So suspect problem lies with the fan

I don't dare to drive back home also at the moment so am overnight at friends house been warned by family if gasket rosak means prepare thousands to fix it.

So roughly how much will it require to fix it? I'll be going to the workshop first thing in the morning so I am hoping to set my expectation first

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but basically if you wanna edit a thread and you forget to bump prior to editing, you can't bump it afterwards. Have to wait another day. I find it redundant as the limitation is supposed to prevent bumping if you have already bumped/commented on the thread.

PTPTN Immigration blacklist

My sister has some outstanding unsettled payment with PTPTN since the borrowing of loan. Upon checking this is shown on immigration website, http://sspi2.imi.gov.my/

It says "Valid at the day(today) this checking was performed." Does this mean that she can still travel abroad this Sunday or must she settle the outstanding and obtain clearance etc? I see that the payment on PTPTN through online banking requires 3 working days to tally. What should she do?
