Nexus 5 LTE FAQ

Many people are excited about Nexus 5 and confuse with its LTE at the same time.

So I'll do a quick post to help clear some confusion around this issue.

To put it simply, Nexus 5 comes in 2 versions:

North America
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
CDMA: Band Class: 0/1/10
WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/6/8/19
LTE: Bands: 1/2/4/5/17/19/25/26/41

Rest of World
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/6/8
LTE: Bands: 1/3/5/7/8/20

The LTE bands used in Malaysia are 3 and 7.

If you get a US version Nexus 5, you wont be able to get the LTE speed in Malaysia but everything would work fine.

If you get a non-US edition, you will be able to enjoy the LTE speed provided by local carriers.

Note that the price of Nexus 5 outside US is slightly higher compared to US.
