Snort alerting via SMS (mysql)

susano'o — Sat, 16 Mar 2013 23:58:16 +0800

hi guys im kinda new to ubuntu
here's what im trying to do

1. install snort
2. all alerts are logged to mysql database "snort"
3. a python script sends sms to you phone when alerts are logged (using GSM modem) (i got this one covered)

my problem is, newer release of snort doesnt support mysql logging (only barnyard and acid base)
and im having these problems
1. installing older versions of snort using tar.gz
or
2. configuring snort with mysql (newer version of snort does not support mysql)

so, is there anyone who can make this project possible? will be willing to pay if i have to.
i have spend countless of hours researching on google and stuff.
