Hong Leong Assurance with weird stuff

Hey guys..last week i have an interview with hong leong assurance and was offered the job on the spot. However, human resource gv me a form to fill in which the form is about requesting me to declare any directorship/ownership/voting vote that owned by me. As i am one of the director of a company, hong leong assurance requested me to resign from the directorship or else they cant offer me the position. So, may i know what are the reasons for them to do such thing? is it possible a scam or have other intention? so far i have quite a few interviews with other company(banking,automotive,electronic manufacturing,blah blah blah), but none of them require me to declare such directorship and have to resign from it if i were to join hong leong assurance.
