[WTA] Chinese Betrothal Ceremony

JenChew12 — Sun, 04 Jun 2023 00:18:29 +0800

Hi!
I’m getting married in a month’s time and currently sorting out a few things here and there before the big day

One of the big item to tick off is the betrothal ceremony, or better known as guo da li.

I’m wondering if the Chinese wedding biscuits are necessary?
Has anyone here decided not to take as part of the gift from the groom?
My mum and I are in view of not receiving them as we have quite a tight timeline to distribute them to our relatives as since the guo da li is just two weeks before the wedding.

Hope someone can shed some light for me.

Thanks!

Suggestions

JenChew12 — Mon, 13 Aug 2012 17:15:53 +0800

Hi. I just obtained my A levels results today and I am thinking of which uni to go
I've posted a few posts on this forum already. but, I guess it's better to make a better and proper one.

My results are 2 A*s and 1 A.

I am thinking of pursuing in Chemical Engineering but I am not sure which uni is the best for me.
I am offered a scholarship in UCSI. But, i am taking the scholarship as a back-up plan

My budget for my degree is about 70-80k.
Any suggestions?

I need help
thank you in advance

hi all. i need help...
Recently, I've been offered a scholarship in UCSI for degree in chemical engineering. I have paid for the registration fee and my orientation starts on the 28th August. I need quick replies as I have limited time to think about my decisions.

So yeap. I've been receiving bad reviews abt UCSI saying that it is not recommended to study there and might as well study at a better university. I thought about it and it's kinda true. and i am second doubting my decision as I dont wanna make a wrong one and feel regretful in the future.
I am very interested in Chemical engineering since form 4 and I dont want my interest to be ruined by the bad conditions in the university.

So, I am asking help from you guys to review abt thos unis stated above =)
UTAR/SEGI or nottingham

my first choice wud be nottingham
bt then. the fees are too expensive as I dont come from a very wealthy family.
is there any other ways I could do in order to study in nottingham? i know nottingham is a very good university.
And i really wish to go there but my parents object because of the killing fees.

so i really need comments from you people =)
and i would like to thank all of you in avance =D

i will be receiving my a levels results on the 13th august =)
my forecast results were 3A's. So, i need help from you guys =)

UTAR or other private Uni?

JenChew12 — Wed, 28 Mar 2012 20:41:38 +0800

hi all. i need your views on these questions below =)
your help and time are very highly appreciated.

I am currently taking A-levels with 3 subjects namely Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
In my AS, I have obtained 3as. I'll be sitting for my A2 this coming May and getting my results in August this year.
I am wondering if there are any other scholarships given for A-Levels students.

I would like to ask the graduates or anyone currently studying at UTAR KL and taking engineering courses on their 2 cents.
here are the questions:
1) are the lecturers good?
2) the accomodation?
3) food? [ sorry. i am from penang XD i am always pampered with good food everywhere in penang XD]
4) will I get a job fast enough?
5) experience on campus?
6) environment on campus?

I dont mind being in a competitive uni. because I was from a very competitive school too. I love the thrill. and i dont mind going through it again =)
spice up my life ;D

I am thinking of Monash, Nottingham and Curtin.
However, the course fee for those 3 unis are 100k+++. I cant afford to pay such amount as I am not from a very well-off family.
those 3 would be my last resort if I dont get any scholarships.
I have applied my scholarships for UTAR, UCSI, Monash and Taylor's.

thank you for your time ^^
