What to upgrade?

Hi everyone,

Need help on deciding what to upgrade for better quality music.

I'll be mostly using Spotify Premium 320kbps high quality streaming service for my source and be using iphone 6 / macbook pro 13" late 2013 for my devices. As for my headphone Im using Audio Technica M40x. My current setting is good but Im ready for better audio quality.

Im contemplating between ;

1. Add portable DAC
2. Upgrade headphone
3. Upgrade player (change to DAP and move from streaming to collecting FLAC files) though im more comfortable streaming unless u guys think the difference will be huge (see budget)
4. Change streaming to Tidal

My budget is around 1k ish and able to accommodate few extra bucks if justified. Thanks!

Hi guys,

need some recommendation here.

I need a monitor for common use (no graphic design thingy. just browsing, view movies and non professional photoshop job) but need to have crisp display.

the set up will be by connecting my macbook pro (late 2013) to the monitor (via DisplayPort 1.2) when im at home.

from my reading, my macbook can power up to Ultra HD 3840x2160 with 60Hz refresh rate via DisplayPort 1.2 (correct me if im wrong), so thought this spec would be nice, but with budget around rm1500-2000 can get a good one? or lower resolution doesnt change much the crisp thus better bargain? in terms of size, the bigger the better, unless you guys think otherwise (budget vs spec).

Please help. TQ.

So im selling my car (1st owner, still owe bank another rm5k) to direct cash buyer (without hire purchase loan).

1. does the car still need to go Puspakom for the B5 check?
2. the roadtax will expired in 3 weeks. should i still cancel the roadtax and insurance before the expiry, or buyer can purchase a new roadtax/insurance by himself after its expire?
3. how to transfer the ownership? my buyer bank-in to by hire purchase account? then straight away can transfer at JPJ?

MPV battle : VW Cross Touran VS Peug 5008

Hi guys,

need advise especially those already own these cars. i need a safe, practical, reliable (10 years) and of course, nice to drive and to be in. money is tight but able to stretch if really worth the investment. got 2 kids and incoming another one!

both these cars are great, but the spec on Peug 5008 is better. i got quite big discount for VW CT so its cheaper than 5008, but the car is 2013 made and just recently registered (2015). meanwhile the peug is brand new made 2015 unreg car. to make things more complicated, now the 5008 have promo of free 3 yr service (part n labor), 3 yr free roadtax, and only 1.88% interest rate! already drove 5008 and its superb. VW CT only tried my friend's car so didnt hantam betul2 to really appreciate it but overall i know how VW drives as im currently driving Jetta.

PRICE :
VW CT RM169888 but now can get around RM125-130K for 2013 car pre reg. (not pre-own). loan maybe can get around 2.65-2.7%
5008 RM155000 but new 2015 made car, unreg. with 1.88% interest rate and 3 yr free service.

Hi guys, quite a newbie here. previously owned Marantz cd and integrated amp 6003 and Wharfadale 10.1 speakers but had to let it go for some reasons last year. now i have a budget of around RM1800 for audio setup which source would be from my computer/macbook pro. i dont have any issue with space. i was wondering which setting to go.

1. easiest would be buying an active speakers. im looking at Q Accoustic BT3 or Audioengine 5+. these speakers have good reputations as far as i know. maybe anyone whom owned one can share your view about it.

2. Q accoustic 2020i + used integrated amp (A-S500 Yamaha maybe?) - should buying separate speaker and amp would give better sound? btw out of all speakers designs in these 3 options, i prefer the 2020i thats another factor in. but i read somewhere said that it might not be good for computer because of passive speakers are non magnetised? need some clarification here.

3. or just drop all and buy a micro system such as Denon M39 which have all in one system (cd player would be nice, amp and speakers included). the source might not be directly from computer but having a dedicated system could be nice as well.

so what do you guys think? which option should i choose and do suggest me other brands / setup if you have any recommendations. many thanks guys!
