My 3.5-year-old Acer Aspire 5540 laptop recently got cracked, may I know need how much to repair/replace it?

Tonight I accidentally knocked my Viva into bricks at parking lot, thank goodness is not other people's car Now so late, service centre closed already, can only go tomorrow 9AM to ask. I need to know first how much is the cost of repairing this, 'cause if it's not much then I don't have to make police report and claim insurance. So how much do I need to pay to fix this at service centre?

This is the other side of the bumper, this side it didn't come loose. Only the right side.

How late can you lodge a police report...

My phone was stolen by a pickpocket on the LRT Friday morning.
I was in a rush to my convocation, until late afternoon, then I rushed to survey prices for a new phone (because it's really important to me that I am contactable).
Yesterday I woke up late (the temporary alarm clock that I borrowed from a housemate wasn't working, I use my phone for alarm purposes) and had to rush to my friend's convocation, then the rest of the day was spent looking for and purchasing a new phone.
Is it too late to lodge a police report today (Sunday) or Monday?
It'll be 2-3 days after the incident then.
However, I do have the serial number of my stolen phone, so I am holding on to a VERY FAINT glimpse of hope that it MIGHT be traced down and returned to me if I lodge a police report.
Would they layan me if I lodge a report, say, later this evening or tomorrow morning?
I'm on the fence since I don't think anything will be done even if I lodged a report, yet that shimmer of hope is telling me to go make a report no matter what so that the record is there and my phone's serial number would be filed as a stolen phone's.
Any opinions?

Can we still apply for matriculation now?

For those who have just got their results and sat for SPM in 2008, is it too late now to apply for matriculation/matrikulasi?
Where is the website to apply?
What's the deadline?

2 problems regarding my acer notebook

1. my startup time used to be 4 minutes, but now it's 13 minutes, somehow it turned extremely slow over the past few days, what could be the problem? i did not install any programs between the slowdown of the startup times... do i need to format it?

2. when i insert a DVD into my dvd-ram, the LED light lits up and i can hear the DVD turning inside, but it can't be detected at all in my computer. when i clicked on My Computer it only lists my local disk drives and my external hdd but no dvd-ram, i even checked the Device Manager and BIOS but it's not listed there as well, why did it suddenly disappear? i have no idea how long this problem started as i've not inserted any DVDs for a long time until today... is there a possibility that the hardware has somehow disconnected? how do i fix it?

my laptop specs:
acer aspire 5542 notebook
windows xp home edition SP2
1.66GHz
504MB ram

any other details need to be added?
