2nd Hand Auto Transmission Proton/Perodua

I am looking to get a cheap second hand car not more than RM10k. I have decided on Proton/Perodua as it is quite affordable to maintain and parts will be easy to find. In particular, I am interested in the Kancil, Satria, Wira or Wira Aeroback. For the price to come under budget, the cars are very likely to be more than 10 years old. My question is, with the above condition is it advisable to purchase an auto transmission model? I think I may have heard somewhere before that auto transmission goes conk after 10 years. Pls advise and if anyone has any comments on my choice selection of cars, I would really appreciate it. Cheers.

Men's Underwear Choices [Serious Talk]

I'd like to find out your opinion on the men's underwear choices available in the Malaysian market these days. This is NOT one of those boxers or briefs threads ...

Are you satisfied with what is being sold to you in Malaysian stores? I've been seeing a lot of new underwear labels being introduced but the new stuff especially for briefs have all these bright gaudy colors with mesh sides, weird style cuts or ridiculously tasteless printing on the waist band area. Boxers are likewise too in design...either they have batman and robin prints or outdated plaid patterns that belong to your grandpa.

I have a hard time finding decent underwear at a decent local price and in the past years have been shelling out RM100 a pair for cK boxer briefs. As a straight man, I like manly designs like those being offered by cK, DKNY, Ralph Lauren but sh*t...they cost a bomb. The reasonably priced varieties are hard to find, usually out of stock and most often designed like they belong in a gay man's wardrobe (no offense...I have nothing against gays but our tastes can differ somewhat).

Discuss your woes here and who knows, it may be viable enough for me to look into as a business opportunity while fixing a problem that I myself have and maybe others out there face too. Ladies, pls input too

Pilates for Scoliosis

I have a slight case of scoliosis. Nothing serious just aesthetically it doesn't make me happy. I did some reading and apparently some people have improved their condition through exercise in particular pilates. Has anyone here personally tried pilates to realign their posture? I like the Alexander Technique concept as well but there doesn't seem to be any practitioners here in Malaysia.

These things cost a bomb by the way.

Crest Whitestrips Premium. This is a dental whitening formula that you can apply at home. Maybe some of you have seen it on popular makeover shows on television. It is very effective as I have used it myself and it worked as advertised. Unfortunately, this product for some reason is not sold locally in Malaysia so I decided to buy a few sets when I was on a trip to Europe to bring back. I'm only doing this once though (not so many Europe business trips ever come by) so get it while you can.

Nearly everyone can use this. The only ones who are not advised to give this a try are those with very sensitive gums. I personally would not recommend this to heavy smokers or regular coffee drinkers either. The effects of the whitening lasts approximately a year and a half but if you fall into one of the two categories then don't waste your money. Your teeth will probably only stay white for about 2-3 months.

Alright, how does it work? Basically you just take the transparent strips out of its foil pack and place it on the surface of your upper and lower row of your teeth. Leave it on for about half an hour and you're done! Easy as that. There are 28 strips altogether; 14 for your upper and 14 for your lower. You can choose to either complete the whitening treatment in 1 or 2 weeks. If you do it in 1 week, you do the application once in the morning and once in the evening. If you are like me and not in a rush, just apply once daily for 2 weeks.

One word of advice, you won't really be able to talk when you have the strips on and you will naturally salivate more (not in the drooling sense of course...just a little) so you'll want to sit down and relax while doing the half hour treatment. Treat it like when you wear a facial mask.

Oh I forgot one more tip. Go do scaling on your teeth before you start treatment. It only costs about RM30 at a private dentist (RM1 at govt hospital I think). The results will be much nicer.

*It should supposedly come in a plastic container but that would've meant a lot of baggage space (which I didn't have enough for the flight back to Malaysia). Warranty:

Erm...no warranty was given to me so I'm not sure how to give YOU one. This is a common retail product sold in normal pharmacies in Europe (I've even seen it in Watsons Shanghai). The only thing I can give assurance on is that you receive the product in good condition. So that means no bursting or tearing of the foil packs.

I would prefer to do this via the "you bank in and I post it to you and we follow up by email/sms" way. It would be awkward for me to COD this but if you insist, I guess I can do it. BUT, priority will be given to the people who can go with the bank in option because it is my preferred dealing method for this particular product.

Hey everyone,

I'm considering taking up a part time diploma in marketing most probably at Segi. I did my research on the course structure and it seems to be the same in general for all college/uni offering the course. My question is what are your experiences in such a course (could be diploma/degree in marketing) if you've taken one. What are the learning structures, obstacles, the good/bad points, etc? Maybe it would help to know that I have a general interest in business and marketing with a few years working experience so the course is not absurdly foreign to me but nonetheless insights regarding the course would help.
