Dolby Digital vs Dolby Digital EX

i notice when i am playing modern warfare 3 on my PS3 connected to Denon 1312 receiver, i get to choose Dolby Digital > Dolby Digital EX > DOlby Digital PLII > virtual > Direct > stereo

I notice the selection order was from best quality to lowest quality. First choise always Dolby TrueHD if the game/movie has it.

So i was playing MW3 and it automatically chooses Dolby Digital. I switch between Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital EX, i notice Dolby Digital EX bass sounded deeper during explosions and have a longer rumble (to me nicer). Dolby digital however doesn't go that low and the explosion sound ended with very less rumble.

Is Dolby Digital EX superior compared to Dolby Digital in terms of audio quality? Just curious to find out which is better. Thanks.

onkyo s3400 or denon 1312XP

Newbie in HT setup, need your help guys.
Planning to get a budget / entry level HT system with 5.1. Budget around 2k. Staying in Penang. Currently focus down to 2 systems which is Onkyo 3400 and Denon 1312XP. I know KL shops are selling this system much cheaper, but the extra cost of going down there to claim the warranty would be the same eventually.

Currently have a Samsung LED d6000 model and a PS3. Gaming and Bluray will be played from PS3. Astro beyond is going to hook up to the receiver also.

1) Onkyo S3400
Saw SenHeng selling Onkyo S3400 for RM1999, with 0% for 6 months (Citibank). Tempting.
After going through reviews notice it is very famous for 'shutting down' and also getting white noise from the speaker. Not sure this is only US product affected of Asia's as well.
Also there is PS3 compatibility issue reported, most of them saying screen flicker or turn blue, etc.

I tested this unit and find it satisfy my needs. I like it has ARC and standby passthrough. But it comes with a passive sub (unable to upgrade in the future?)

So is there any owner here can testify to that? Is it really that problematic as mention by all those reviews i read on amazon?
Just don't want to get a known defective system to trouble myself.

2) Denon 1312XP
Havent tested this system but from reviews, its performance this is quite similar to onkyo. Quoted RM2300 (expensive i know but currenly only found 1 shop selling in Penang)
I have read less bad review about this set compared to the Onkyo's so i guess this unit is not as prone to problem. This is a bit more expensive but it is more reliable. Also i haven't read about PS3 compatibility issue on this unit.

But THere is no ARC / Standy by passthrough for this system. Standby pass through is desirable as sometimes i would like to watch astro without using the HT system. But it comes with a active sub.

So... 1 is cheaper with better functionality but facing possibility of getting a problematic unit. Another 1 is more expensive but lacks some desirable functionality.
I wouldn't mind having to pay extra if i can get something that wont keep me going back to the seller for warranties, but is ARC / Standby passthrough important?

I would like to know what is the main difference that cause RM900 difference? At first i was set to buy 40D6400, but then i went to a shop they only have 40D6000 and at a very much cheaper price.

Would like to confirm few things:
- both capable of playing 3D
- auto motion plus 100/120hz
- full hd
- capable of playing mkv / avi using USB drive

I have read about this and the only difference is D6000 is 200hz in CMR compared to D6400 400hz, and cant convert 2d-3d. Thats just about it?

for the SG, it state there picture engine : 3D hypereal engine. Same as Malaysia's 55D6000.
US set clearly did not state that it is a 3D tv but SG has.

currently i am having 2 choices, 1 is Business Objects developer (universe developer) and another one is server support engineer(could move to system engineer in the future)

So my question is, which job has a better career prospect? BO developer pays better, but i am more interested in server engineer.

I was ask to attend a technical test for the position of IT security specialist. Problem is i dont know sh!t about it... i applied for the job cause i know it has very good job prospect. And the requirements did not state that we should have any experience.

I am just wondering what are the types of technical questions will be asked during the test. Where can i find reference to read up on this topic?

I really want to have a try at this job and i want to prepare for the test. Please help me.
