Just now I went to pump fuel for my kapcai at petronas. Idk if there's any difference with west MY but most here have the window counter to pay. As usual, I go to that counter, handed RM4.00 (I usually pump this amount, almost empty tank just now) and my mykad, and the cashier do his thing. Success, and he handed me the receipt and my mykad back to me. Finally I go back to my bike to pump the fuel.

I didn't look at the screen when pumping. Here's the unusual thing. When I finally look at the screen, it already shows RM4.50. I look at my tank, almost spill. So I quickly stop pumping and the screen shows RM4.61. Now, isn't the normal thing that should happen is it should auto-stop when reached RM4.00? I'm very confused I want to go back to the cashier to inquire but there's a queue there so I just left.

I look at the receipt, I'm even more confused as there's RM5.23 written there. Either the pump is broken (it won't auto-stop at RM4.00) or it's not broken (maybe it'll auto-stop at RM5.23?). I mean got people buy fuel at weird price meh? Say RM63.47 (other than filling full tank).

I've included my receipt. In case you think what's the big deal. Well I don't want it to happen again next time and the fuel over-spill onto my bike.

Per image shown, how much do I have to pay so that the next time I open it everything is RM 0 except for the actual amount (New) I need to pay?
I'm not the one using this Astro, it's my parents'. Last time prior to SST each month I pay RM 160.05 usually between 1-10 day of the month. My parents' didn't got no bill but told me that's the amount to be paid. But right now (a few months before) everytime I pay the amount under 'New (due ...)' surely the next month still got 'current balance' and 'overdue balance'. I never got warning whatsoever but I just want to pay cun2 what I should be paying so that none of that 'current balance' and 'overdue balance' appear. TQ in advance.

Chinese,Japanese,Korean,Symbol text not recognized

I'm on Windows 10 and I'm using ffmpeg to scale some of my videos. The problem isn't with ffmpeg. The problem is if the filename/path has chinese / japanese / korean / symbol chracter in it. If I put command with those in .bat file and run the .bat file, those characters aren't recognized and the command will just said 'no such file found'. But if I paste the command directly in the terminal application (https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9n0dx20hk701?hl=en-us&gl=us) and run it there, the command run fine without any errors.

Now you might ask, if it works by pasting the command directly in terminal, why not just do so? Why must use .bat file? Well I have many commands like following (I only show example 3 but actually it's like 100) so no way I'm gonna do it 1 by 1, better put it in a .bat file to run.

YES, even when viewed in notepad, those characters appear fine. Screenshot as attached.[attachmentid=11496416]

To run the .bat file I either double-click on it and it'll run or I use the terminal and browse to it and run it. But in this case it just failed due to those characters. So my question is is there any way to make it work? Renaming those files to proper readable character is a no-no since there's like 100 files to work with. Because if it works if I paste the command, why won't it if it's in the .bat file?

Suggest build based on RX580

Found plenty of RX580 8GB selling for RM350-RM450 while browsing shopee. Some new, some used. Btw why they selling so cheap ah? Use for bitcoin mining is it?

So what I plan to do with the PC is DOTA 2, CSGO, and hopefully GTA 5. So long as can play at 1080p, good FPS (that'll be 60fps I assume) is ok already. Graphic setting I don't care if it's at lowest as long as 1080p because that's my monitor resolution. Also will want to try bluestacks (android emulator) because at least can let my niece play her games on PC instead of using my phone.

I can research myself but halfway confuse already. So long didn't read about PC hardware. Idk what CPU and motherboard can support that RX580.

- I want Intel build.
- The motherboard. Idk what chipset I need. Some say H61 or H81 can already but then some say those only support pcie 2.0 but RX580 is pcie 3.0.
- Not knowing the above means idk which CPU. LGA 1151? LGA 1150? Intel 4th gen? Haswell? I don't really follow PC hardware during these era. i5 enough? or i7 better for the bluestacks. Research halfway seems like i7 4770 is good but again I'm not sure.
- I want DDR3 16GB. or 32GB better for bluestacks?
- No need NVME. Got SATA 3 enough already.
- With USB 3 and also USB 3 header for the front.

How much to fix/change car skirt?

First off, I don't know much about car and its maintenance/servicing whatsoever. This Almera is my mum's. I think it's a 2013 model based on pictures I can google.

Anyway, what I want to know is how much is the cost estimation/breakdown to repair/replace the following damage? What kind of shop do I send it to? Any general car workshop? Paint shop? This I truly have no idea what to call it. Surely not tyre shop. I don't mind the cost just don't want get scammed since I never done this before.

A - is the right side of the front skirt. Totally pecah.

C - is the side skirt (right side). If I look from the floor, also pecah a lot.

B - is near the driver side. This one not the skirt but rather the main body I think. This one scratched by some box truck. So I'm thinking if the shop I'm sending can fix that paint even better la. But if cannot is fine. This one not very urgent.

I'm looking for dish rack like in the picture (minus the bottom part). Anyone know where to buy? I search in Shopee but cannot find or I just don't know the exact term. My mum told me to find it since most new ones she don't like since our plates and bowl come in different sizes (width, depth etc) and thus cannot be stack properly in those new ones.

The one we have in our house (exactly like the picture) almost broken. I've tried finding in local shop cannot find even at kampung area departmental store also none selling. Tq in advance.

My friend got this extra Western Digital Purple hard disk that he got no use for and willing to give to me foc. Can I use it like a normal hard disk for storage in my desktop? Or maybe use it like an external hard disk via a docking station like https://www.orico.cc/usmobile/product/detail/id/3551

This is my first time found out that there are specific hard disk like this. Previously I only know that WD has black for gaming (10k rpm or something is their selling point) Similarly, is it ok for me to use WD Red/Gold for the above purpose as well? Ditto for Seagate SkyHawk (CCTV), IronWolf (NAS) and EXOS (enterprise? what this mean?). What problem would occur if I use them like so? Data corrupt etc?

Android Emulator as temporary phone replacement

My smartphone touchscreen suddenly go crazy. Even a slight tap is being registered as a long touch. Therefore I can't even drag my screen, type etc. Difficult to go to service centre/phone shop now to repair due to the MCO.

Now I've used android emulator (LDPlayer, mainly to just play games while the phone is being charged) so I'm wondering if it's safe to use it as a phone replacement temporarily. My main activity with the phone (besides casual gaming) is just whatsapp, shopee, TAC for online banking. I seldom even call.

Ok you might say why not use whatsapp web/ shopee web etc. Well to login whastapp web you still need to use your phone to scan the QR code and right know it's difficult for me to even get to that menu on the phone. The same goes with shopee. There are just some features only available in its APP but lacking in its web version (shopeepay for example).

Is there anyone that use android emulator as phone replacement not just temporarily but permanently? I want to try it on the LDPlayer but it's china based/made so I'm a bit wary of the privacy/security. Maybe those others like Bluestacks, NoxPlayer etc is better? Need to know your experience TQ.

Laptop CPU fan connector name

I got an old Acer laptop which the fan cause problem. After opening it, I found that the connector already melted. What's the name of the connector and anywhere got sell? It's not molex (molex is big) and also not the same connector as normal desktop CPU cooler fan so I'm really clueless as to what to search. It look like following:

MERN stack offline development

I'm learning MERN development through youtube and some online resources. One thing that bother me is is there any way I can make the development process still work in offline environment? What I mean is if I do the following command:

That would require me to be online for the command to not throw error. So how ah?

I was thinking maybe I can download most of those library (or whatever) that I would normally needed into one local folder in my machine. Then next time I can ran the code while offline and it'll fetch from that folder instead.

PLC 2-pin to E27 converter

PLC 2-pin fluorescent bulb quite hard to find already. At least with E27 there's plenty of LED bulb nowadays. Is it safe to use that converter in the long run? (If any qualified electrician can answer I'd appreciate it very much.) My house got 12 of those that I really want to change. TQ.

Passport validity

My passport is valid until 10 November 2019. I will be flying to Thailand somewhere in May 2019 for a 3 days trip. Date is unconfirmed yet. Can I still use the same passport or do I have to renew? The rule said must have 6 month between last day coming back to country and last day of passport validity. But I'm just wondering if I can get an exception for that. Maybe some letter from our immigration or they can just look away in my case. I understand the rule is for security purpose and to avoid people misuse for overstay and so on. Thank you.

BTW, I never go to other country before so that's why I'm noob at this.

Hi everyone, my mum will bring me to buy a new TV this weekend. But i don't know much about today's TV tech, never even bother about the current TV in our home. So please suggest me brand/model to look for based on criteria below so that I won't get so blur when looking at the shop later.

Requirement:-
1. Max budget: RM5000. But prefer something below RM4500.
2. MUST TAHAN LAMA. At least 10 years. No annoying problem (see below for the problem of our current TV).
3. Full HD (1920x1080). Don't want 4K.
4. 50 inch (around).
5. Smart TV/Android TV? My elder sister said want to be able to watch youtube and netflix. Which means must have internet connectivity too (Wifi preferred).
6. LED/OLED/LCD/Plasma whatever doesn't matter.
7. USB ports.
8. HDMI/video ports. Current TV connects to Astro and also 1 DVD player.
9. No need 3D.
10. Preferably can playback HEVC 10-bit files. But if cannot, at least normal x264 files.
11. No online store/Lazada etc. I want to buy at my local electrical store. SO even if I cannot find the exact brand model anyone suggested, I have rough ideas of the brand and model that I should pick (or what brand or model I should avoid).

I guess that's pretty much it for the requirement. Anything extra I'll continue to edit and add. Now, for the current TV and its problems (which I hope this new TV I'm going to but will not exhibit these problems):-

1. It's a 50 inch Panasonic Viera Plasma TV with 3D. Don't know the exact model number. Box already thrown away and nowhere on the TV set got the model no.
2. Forgot when bought. Most probably 5-7 years ago I think.
3. Got 3 big vertical lines about 1/4 from the right side of the screen. Everytime watch news and the newscaster is on the right side, we will never see him/her. I don't know what this problem is called. Problem started small about 3 years back. Now it's worse and getting bigger.
4. The worst issue with this TV is you cannot switch it off from the mains. So if you want to turn off the TV, at most can only put it at standby mode. If you switch it off from the mains, it cannot be turn on again. Must wait for some time, then try again. Fastest it can turn back on is 4 hours. Longest is 24 hours. So everytime blackout, just forget about having the TV on when power is restored. Problem started not long after this TV is bought if I recall.

Any prepaid plans with unlimited night data?

Which telco has prepaid that has unlimited data at night? By night I mean like Celcom's Internet Burung Hantu last time which is if I recall, unlimited data usage from 1am-7am. Ever since Celcom stopped that, I move to Digi which also has something similar although actually is just 30GB per month for 1am-7am but still good enough for me. Right now, the Digi that I'm using only has 1pm-7pm of 1GB data.

Reason I prefer night data like this is because I usually did my windows update for home PC at night time (via tethering). So the current 1pm-7pm of 1GB although enough, is not convenient for me since I'm not at home. I never really abuse it to download stuff. Just to update windows, the apps, and maybe some videos from youtube. So is there any telco that offers now and what is the plan I have to subscribe to? Thanks in advance.

Which 1 to switch off?

So which one of the switch I have to turn off (flicked down) so that electricity is cut off to that socket only? The following is the image of the main circuit board (is this what it's called?) when everything in my house runs fine.

I know if I just flicked down the rightmost black one the entire house electricity will be cut off but I don't want to do that because that means I have to turn the TV off. My TV is stupid. If it's turned off, I have to wait for a long time only then it can be turn back on. Worst case is 2 days (fastest is 6 hours). The entire household will become restless during the no TV period (Not me though. I can live as long as have internet ).

Anyway my house is very old house almost 30 yrs) so I believe it's single phase if that's important to you. And I have non contact tester and all necessary tools to help me. Thanks.

I know we cannot just cutoff electric to that one only. If we flick the switch those with the same line as it will be cutoff as well. Just in case you think I don't know.

Full pcie lane combination

Hi all, for 1151 build, can anyone suggest me a motherboard+CPU combo that can support full x16 pcie 3.0 (for gpu) and full x4 pcie 3.0 (for nvme m.2 ssd)? I've looked around but I'm not very sure. Afraid later when I plugged both thing the GPU becomes x8 only, or maybe even the ssd cannot been used.

1. You might say why need full x16 lane for GPU? Most of the time they only use x8 only.. Well if don't use I feel wasted.
2. And also why need nvme m.2 ssd? Normal sata (or m.2 sata) speed is enough also. Well if I can have fast speed why not rite?

For CPU I consider i5 6400 or i5 6500 but I'm not sure if it'll provide enough pcie lane for my build or not. I know the mobo chipset also has it's own pcie lane but I'm not sure how it'll combine with the CPU one to support both my GPU and ssd that's why I need to know the mobo that can support this build. The ssd I prolly get samsung 950 pro. Mobo doesn't matter what brand but if cheaper even better. I know must have at least B150 for m.2 32Gb/s support. And also must support DDR4.

Hi, anybody knows if there's is this kind of service which sells mugs/cups that you can ask them to design something on it? I'm planning to have 7 mugs/cups with different people name on it as christmas gift. If there's such kind of service, where can I get it? I'm based in Kuching Sarawak. (and also the price if you know it). I only want basic colour mugs/cups (preferably white and ceramic? type and not plastic) and only the person name on it. No need any graphic/picture. And the name won't dry off. TQVM.

Is it normal to resign at this time of the year?

By this time of the year I mean December. Will it make it difficult for those HR to process? Though not problem, just afraid maybe they'll have difficulty in calculating how to calculate my leave balance salary etc. You know, since end of the year people usually want to close a lot of things.

Btw it's 2 months notice. So that's why I'm concerned about those leave thingy. I still have balance 5 which I don't think I can take anymore else it'll look like I'm missing for the rest of this december. And coming next year I'll have another 21 days again.

p/s: We don't have HR manager actually. Just small company 15 people. The account officer/secretary usually manage those documentation and the biggest person is the managing director which is the person we submit our resignation letter to.
