Sigma AF 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC HSM OS

Hi everyone.
I'm a 600D user thinking of upgrading my kit lens to a lens with a constant aperture of f2.8, which came across to these 3 lenses:

1. Sigma AF 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC HSM OS,
2. Tamron AF 17-50mm f/2.8 SP XR Di II LD Aspherical [IF], and
3. the much more costly Canon 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM

All these lenses provide the useful focal length for general purpose use, wide enough for landscape photography and with a constant f2.8 it's good for portraits.
Does anybody have experiences with these lenses? And how well did they perform in terms of IQ?
I'm puzzled as all 3 lenses price differs so much.
