Installing new OS using external disk drive

I am planning to build new PC(entirely new hardware) with new and empty hard disk. Is it possible to install OS unto the new and empty hard drive using external disk drive only(cause I don't plan to get an internal disk drive for my system) ? And will I enter BIOS menu, if I run the PC entirely on that empty hard drive?

Mechanical Eng or Electronics&Computer Eng?

I just got offered diploma course from Ngee Ann Poly. But this course is not one of my choices made during application. I like and opt for mechanical eng related courses, but electronics&computer eng used to my favourite too. You guys might say go for whichever course that interests you. Well, I could work hard for it and I know it's very hard but I have already prepared for it. I applied for 2 other polys as well, this is the first poly who replies me and the other 2 are still pending. Deadline for the acceptance of enrollment is 31 March which is next Monday so I have few days to make up my mind. So, should I wait for reply from other polys or just accept this? I know it's kinda gambling here but whatever it is, I just hope for the best. Hopefully, my post won't confuse you guys.

P/s: study in Singapore for me is dream come true. I forcibly wish that I could enroll for mech instead. I know it's contradicting. Whatever

Can I claim insurance money(medical) using duplicate tax invoice and receipts? As I remembered, I did passed original tax invoice and receipts to my agent and guess what? He said he only received interim and only bla bla bla except original one. Okay, now he's not responsible for what he had done to my documents and didn't check before leaving on that particular day. But me on other hand should be blamed too for not checking the document properly before submit to him. But, there is not the point. Just want to know, if the ori one is missing can I claim with duplicate one(stamped with verification from the hospital with signature from the staff included)? I don't want to ask the agent cause I can feel that he's lack of integrity in his job.

Height and Weight problem

I'm 1.6 m and 45 kg, turning 17 this December. I simply can't gain weight and height even though I ate a lot. I do drink milk and eat meat a lot. I planned to do a medical check-up with a doctor by end of this month. Not sure if my growth hormone level in my blood play an important role for my growth rate too. I do surf at the web, it said that high metabolism will slow down weight gain rate not sure if the same for height too. The problem is, short is not bad but TOO short is. Is there any ideas we can gain weight and height by exercising or by other means etc nutrition or lifestyles? And of course, it is okay for not instantaneously to see the effect.
