USM cancelled my UPU Offer?

So, results for admission to IPTA is out. And strangely, I did not get any offers for UPU, only USM offered me Civil Engineering (2nd Choice). When I log into the UPU site to check my results, they put USM-Kejuruteraan Awam.
Why is this so??
FYI, I got STPM 4.0 and MUET Band 5. I applied for 4 architecture courses in my UPU application. For the bottom 8 choices, I put marine science, chemical engineering, civil engineering and teknologi seni reka. So... I dare to say that it is IMPOSSIBLE that I did not get any offers from UPU even if I did flunk all 4 archi courses interviews.

Did USM overwrite my UPU offers? Can they do that? What should I do now??

How is life in Malaysian public universities? Can anyone share some experiences?
I want to know what IPTA can offer me in terms of:

Environment
Extra-curricular activities / Events
Quality of lecturers
Culture

And generally, how is it like studying there?

Industrial Design or Architecture

I'm in a bit of a dilemma here. Hope you guys can give some input or opinions. I am an STPM student, and I'm now applying to local uni, Singapore and also NUS.

So, I already got offered Industrial Design in NUS (my second choice, after architecture), which I am totally fine about. NUS is a great university and the course is really interesting and all... But, the costs of studying in S'pore is much much higher than in M'sia if I don't get a scholarship. Even with a loan, it will be straining to my family's finances and I do not wish to burden them.

For IPTA, I will be going for their interviews for architecture next week. Hopefully I will be able to secure a place. For IPTA, funding won't be a big problem, with or without a scholarship.

Another thing is, if I decide to go to NUS, I would have to leave in mid-July, and by then IPTA result will not be announced yet. I won't know if I am able to secure a place in the course I want or not. I have to decide blind.

OK, so I have decided to look at it this way. INDUSTRIAL DESIGN in NUS or ARCHITECTURE in IPTA. What is the pros and cons of each course? In the best case scenario where I get a scholarship for both, which should I pick?

Nikon DSLR for 3.5K

I've been using my aunt's Nikon D90 for quite a few years. Finally taking the plunge to buy my own dslr.

Budget is around 3.5K.
What model should I buy? And any store recommendations? Klang Valley area.
