[WTS] HP Envy 13 Early 2019

Item(s): HP Envy 13 Early 2019 Pale Gold (i7-8565U Whiskey Lake U)

Package includes: Unit, AC Adapter, Ori Box, Pre-Applied Screen Protector and Skin (Black Carbon Fibre, can remove if not your thing), upgraded to Windows 10 Pro (Ori of course). Also will throw in a sleeve/case for free.

Price: SOLD to a nice LYN forumer.

Warranty: Still 1+ year coverage by HP Malaysia(unit barely 6 months old, originally 2Y warranty)

Dealing method: COD

Location: KL/SA/SJ/PJ on weekends

Contact method/details: PM me here
---

Item(s) conditions: 98% (unit skinned and pretty well taken care of)

Picture:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

[attachmentid=10311621]

Reason for sale: Underutilised

Hey folks. The next item for sale is my preloved (and extremely treasured) Pale Gold HP Envy 13 (i7-8565U/MX150/1080p). I needed a bit of an upgrade on the GPU department for work purposes so I have to let it go for something else. I really loved it otherwise though.

That said, for its size, the MX150 on the Envy 13 slays. It's only the slightest bit slower then the supposedly "newer" MX250, so it's no slouch. It can play Ace Combat 7 smoothly if that's any indication (at reduced settings of course), and even Division 2 (with low settings though).

And its built like a bloody tank to boot, with a keyboard that's to die for when it comes to typing work. Really an awesome multipurpose Ultrabook.

Comes with lotsa freebies too.

For sale today is my preloved first batch Kickstarter GPD Win 2 Windows 10 Mini PC.

Unit comes with an Intel M3 proc and 8GBs of RAM, and the SSD has been upgraded to 256GB. The unit ALSO has the RUMBLE MOTOR that the current mass production Win 2 units DO NOT HAVE. This unit is also free of the infamous "WiFi missing" problem that plagued the KS batch so you can buy with confidence.

Have to sell it off because I'm actually gaming more on my phone now, but there is no real OTHER way you can play GTAV (yes, the full thing), Front Mission 5 (full PS2 emu), DOTA 2 (yes, the full thing) or BattleTech (yes, the full thing also) on a small computer that fits the palm of your hand.

Or other Emus including Dreamcast if that's more your thing (I never tried myself, but it should work).

Will also throw in some other useful (but random) goodies just to sweeten the deal.

Other dimensions are smaller on the Onyx's side though.

* Onyx comes with 1060 maximum and Coffee Lake procs. S5X only ships with Kaby Lake BUT offers up to a 1070Max-Q (about 15-20% more performance from the 1060).

* Onyx comes with a mechanical, per-key RGB keyboard (that is very nice to type on, but rather clicky). S5X comes with your typical laptop keyboard (read: not clicky) and only had per-sector RGB lighting.

* Onyx is easier to upgrade/maintain (the S5X needs you to take the keyboard off to access some screws underneath before you can get to the insides. Onyx just needs you to get rid of the bottom screws and you're done).

* Onyx (as per specced now with its 43Wh battery) has worse battery life then the S5X (4 vs 5++ hours). A bigger 60Wh battery is in the works for the Onyx, but you're gonna have to sacrifice your 2.5 drive slot.

* Onyx has minimal screen bezels. The S5X has thick ones.

* S5X has a 120hz TN option. Onyx will have (ETA: June-July) a 144hz IPS option.

* Onyx has 2x M2 NVMe. S5X only has 1 (but both + the 2.5 drive bay).

* Onyx has a USB 2.0 (only) internal card reader. The one on the S5X is 3.0.

ONYX pictures

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Built like a rock, its actually even more durable than your typical Lowepro bag thanks to the hardy materials used. So much so that it actually still looks pretty pristine even now.

It was also quite hard to find locally, and myself I lucked out while searching for one.

Also, for something so compact, it fits a HUGE amount of stuff, including both my mirrorless bodies (Sony A6000 and A5100), all my other EDC stuff AND a 13 inch laptop + 10 inch tablet along with it - though it WILL bulge out considerably with ALL THAT inside of it at once so I usually don't carry my laptop around with it unless I need to.

Unfortunately, I've since switched to something else (with a bit more space) so the bag now sits unused. So rather that it remains in storage, it would probably be better that I try to find it a new home.

Photos of the actual item plus some taken from Lowepro's site are above for your preusal.

Thanks folks.

For sale is a USB Type-C hub from HooToo, a top-rated brand over in Amazon. This hub comes with with 3x USB-A ports and a full speed SD card reader, and is constructed from aluminium with a finish similar to that of the silver Macbook - which it's primarily aimed at TBH.

That said, it ALSO works fine with Windows laptops with Type-C ports, and makes for a very compact and portable hub + card reader combo for Windows laptops and Macbooks alike.

As for me, got it from the great 'Bay thinking it was the HDMI equipped version (which as you can see, it isn't). My loss is your gain folks, grab this not that easy to get locally accessory now for the low low price stated above.

Hey ho folks, here's mah humble rebiu on the i5/8GB Lenovo Miix 510, which should be useful if you guys are, as I was, looking for an "affordable" Surface Pro Clone (Surface gaise please don't flame us poorfags here).

Main points:

- Build Quality almost on par with SP4 (much better built than Switch A12, hinge is slightly superior to the SP4 even).

- Benchmark wise slightly faster than the i5/8GB SP4 (on par with the Switch A12).

- REAL Wacom Pen FTW (AES + Wacom Digitizer - unfortunately not EMR, but better drivers/stylus usability than both Switch A12 or SPs. Slightly crappier physical pen vs the SP4).

- Battery life 5-6 hours nominal (better than Switch A12, worse than SP4).

- Screen is decent (Switch A12 and SP4 brighter and better reso).

- Heat management excellent (though fan runs almost constantly, but for me it's not really noticeable).

- Warranty is 2 years international INCLUDING Accidental Damage Protection for both (confirmed with Lenovo direct)... PLUS it's extendable to 5 years if you want (Switch A12 needs additional purchase for extended warranty, no Accidental Protection. Not sure about SP4).

- Unlike the Lenovo Miix 700, it has been relatively problem free so far (which is admittedly quite rare for a Lenovo product lol). Also Miix 700 had a crappy Elan Digitizer, and this one doesn't.

You can read up on all the nitty-gritty details in the full review on my site/blog here: https://goo.gl/ebQd0N

In conclusion it's an awesome little 12-incher haiburid if you have a need for one and can't afford an SP4. Might sound like I'm shilling but I'm just a really happy user here.

Also it's bound to get better as the IFA announced Miix 720 is gonna be released soon... prices should drop you further for the 510 and - unless you need Kaby Lake, TB3, a Hello Webcam AND a microSD reader - the 510 is really "good enough" already (not to mention the 720 sounds like it will cost a bomb lol).

Not sure if Lenovo's gonna cost cut in other ways and go back to that crappy Elan Digitizer in the 720 though... which might just happen as the 720 (like the 700) has a 3:2 aspect ratio screen, and Wacom doesn't really do 3:2.

Anyway, do sound off if anybody got any questions about the Miix 510. I'll be more than happy to answer if I can.

(EDIT 13/02) Here's a few PSAs for new Miix 510 users BTW:

1) Model Differences:
i3/4GB - 128G SSD, <s>NO</s> YES pen (according to [@rosihan]) W10 Home, 1yr Warranty + ADP.
i5/8GB - 256G SSD, YES pen, W10 Home, 2yr Warranty + ADP. i7/8GB - 256G SSD, YES pen, W10 Pro, 2yr Warranty + ADP.

2) Turn off Fast Startup - The SSD already boots plenty fast without it, and it drains your battery turned on. Steps here: https://goo.gl/tBKxnH

3) Update your Keyboard Folio driver and firmware (from the Lenovo Website). Helps make the KB and touchpad work a lot better. Unfortunately, the touchpad is still VERY sensitive to dodgy AC adapters/plugs, so watch what you're plugging your Miix into.

4) Screen protection - Tempered glass/film SP is readily available from eBay and Lazada, or you can go to Mobile Outfitters (Gurney Plaza, Sunway, BTS) for a custom made SP.

5) ANY Wacom AES Lenovo Active Stylus (and even Dell and HP's) works with the Miix 510, so you can get any one from eBay if you need spares and replacements. I got the Lenovo GX80K32884 (Miix 700/Yoga 900 stylus) as it was the cheapest available, and it works fine.

6) AAAA batteries for the darned things are readily available from Harvey Norman (cheap) or All IT, so you don't need to go hack open 9V cells to find some.

7) The SSD IS upgradable, but it needs a considerable amount of skill, finesse and luck. Get the maintainance manual from the Lenovo support site, the proper tools (plastic prying picks for the screen and thermal paste for the CPU) and take it SLOW prying the screen open, as the screen housing around the screen itself is plastic and chips easily (talking from... sadly... experience).

Prints are also longer lasting and water-proof. Additionally, photo transfer and printing speed is MUCH faster compared to the others, partly thanks it using Direct WIFI compared to the BT on the Zink printers.

Unfortunately, for my case use (carrying it in my day pack everywhere) the Prinics is a tad too heavy compared to the LG Popo. Need to lessen the load on my poor (breaking) back.

Also, it's used for barely 2 months before being put into storage (hence still got warranty) so yeah, my loss is your gain folks.

Sure it only does 16MP, and has less PDAF points compared to the A5100/A6000 (much less the 6300 or the 6500), but this baby has a few tricks up its sleeve vs the A5000/A5100.

Namely:
1) A fully articulated touchscreen (vs that simple flip screen the 5000/5100 has)
2) An actual Quick Access/FN menu (which the A5000/5100 does not have)
3) Digital level (not even the A6000 has it lol)
4) Articulated EVF (thanks to the EV1S)
5) Apparently less noise at higher ISOs due to the lower density/larger photosites vs the A5100/A6000... or something.
6) Touchscreen works pretty much everywhere (vs the A5000/5100 where it ONLY works for focus AFAIK).
7) Better grip vs the tiny gripped A5000/5100 (which is made better-er with the bracket-grip)
8) Built like a tank. The white finish hasn't yellowed at all even

The N5T, especially with the EV1S, makes for an awesome starter camera and the pancake 16mm isn't half bad if you can live with its shortcomings (and if you can find an ECU1 UWA adapter, you get a pretty good 12mm lens too).

For me, had to begrudgingly upgrade due to... y'know... GAS (lol).

So yeah, my loss is your gain folks. She's well used but not abused, just waiting for a new owner to bring the best out of her.

[WTS] Canon FDn 35mm f/2 FD-mount

Item(s): Canon FDn 35mm f/2 FD-mount

Package includes: Lens, front cap (no adapter - but I can help find one for you).

Price: RM500

Warranty: Nil

Dealing method: COD or Post

Location: Shah Alam/PJ/Subang (weekends) or Pahang (weekdays)

Contact method/details: PM
---

Item(s) conditions: Optics pristine (no hazing or fungi). Aperture perfect. Mechanicals just serviced (no loose focus ring problem). Outlook 90%.

Picture:

Reason for sale: Just got a native AF 35mm.

For sale is a Canon FDn 35mm f/2 (convex non-thorium). While not as well-hyped as it's earlier thorium brethren, it's a solid little lens that takes superb pictures on par with modern designs. It does render slightly differently though.

This particular lens has been sent for maintenance to ensure that it never suffers from the dreaded "crumbled-washers-loose-focus-ring" syndrome that often plagues the FDn 35mm, and it's optics are pristine.

The lens is perfectly adaptable to mirrorless as well, and is one of the the smallest non-Leica 35mm lenses adaptable to FF mirrorless.

Note that no mirrorless adapters are included in this package. However, I might be able to find one for you if you're interested.

It renders quite differently from modern 35mm designs, and focuses quite close too. All mechanicals are in perfect condition and the optics are pristine.

It comes in Nikon AI/AIS mount and will work perfect it any Nikon cameras that take AI/AIS lenses, even modern Nikon DSLRs. It's also adaptable to most mirrorless mounts with the correct adapter.

Note that there is no mirrorless adapter in this package, though I can help you find one to suit whatever camera you're using.
