Addicted to “World of Warcraft”

“World of Warcraft” is a very famous online game no matter in which part of the world. A Chinese man named Cheng Feng is an addict of World of Warcraft, he accidentally killed his girlfriend due to World of Warcraft . Full story after the break…

Chen Feng is now 28 years old, from Beijing, he has a poor education level. Since Chen became an adult, he did not have a stable job, he had worked for an internet company for a short period and participated in an insurance company’s trainee programme. However, Chen decided to spend more times in front of his computers playing World of Warcraft instead. Chen is good at World of Warcraft, he is a team leader in the game who directs the team to get through each checkpoint, and probably here is where he found the feeling of success.

With his daily life, he relied on his parents very much. According to Chen said, he spent only 4-5 hours of sleeping and used the rest of the day to play game, so he doesn’t have any spare time to talk with his parents or have dinner together.

Back in 2006, Chen met a Chinese girl named Zhang Li, they met each other in World of Warcraft as well. Zhang is two years older than Chen, and she is a very active person. Since that, Chen and Zhang began to webcam more frequently, and their relationship was getting better, they even had virtual marriage in the game.

On July last year, Zhang went to Beijing to meet Chen in person and she lived at Chen’s place. Although this was the first time that they met each other in person, they had already planned to get married and notified their parents. Everything from here sounds very smooth and good, but this wonderful story was broken by some trivia quarreled.

On July 22 last year, Chen was playing World of Warcraft from 04:56 a.m. until 01:29 p.m. Around 03:00 in the afternoon, while Chen was having a shower, he heard Zhang chatting with another male. Chen was very angry, and told Zhang “stop chatting!” Zhang was not happy with that and they had a tongue fight.

According Chen mentioned the scenario, Zhang was walking out of the bedroom to the living room with her underwear only. Chen told her not to because the curtain was not closed in the living room, but Zhang did not listen to him. Chen was very angry, he grabbed her arm and neck to get her back into the bedroom. In the meanwhile, Zhang was speaking rudely to Chen, and Che got even more angry. During the fight, Zhang tried to push away him, but she couldn’t and she started deep breaths. When Chen saw that, he released his hands and put her on the bed. He asked Zhang how is she, but Zhang did not say a word. At this moment, Chen heard his friends to get into the game, because it was about to start. Chen was anxious to play game, so he just left Zhang lied on the bed.

Chen began to play from 03:43 p.m. until 11:35 p.m. After the game finished, he just realized Zhang did not say anything or make any sounds while he was concentrating in the game, and he found Zhang was already died on his bed.

Chen was feeling nervous and regret, he ultimately told his parents about that, and they told Chen to surrender. But Chen was not willing to, and he told his friends about that as well. A friend of Chen, named Shi, he initially was persuading Chen to surrender, but ultimately he turned himself in to help Chen to bury Zhang’s body. They went to shop and buy bags, tapes and gloves…

Chen’s father said, they were worried because Chen did not go to surrender, so they called the cops and finally the polices arrested Chen and Shi. Chen’s parents said his son had made a big mistake and he should takes the responsibility and hoping he could learn from it, so that’s why they heartlessly made the decision to arrest their own son.

The court sentenced Chen to life imprisonment and deprivation of political rights for life. As for Shi, he attempted to help destroying evidence, the court sentenced to one year imprisonment.
