Next path in Career in IT

Hi everyone, I have been working as IT Executive (programmer/developer) for almost 5 years. Now it is time for me to have a career change, I am thinking of changing to mobile development (Android/IOS) and probably get involve in IOT (Internet of Things).
Now, the question is what is the best way to go about this? Should I just:
1) Study alone and online during my free time, but this is very slow
2) Take a course sometime, still haven't find if offer courses in mobile development
3) Get a certification on degree/diploma that maybe related to mobile development

Anyone have any advice, please share, if have alternative can suggest as well. Thanks in advance
Career Advice

Hi everyone, first post in Lowyat Codemasters.

I'm not sure if anyone posted this question before, and not sure if this is the right place.

Basically, I've been programmer/software developer for about 3 years. I'm mostly doing programming job in VB6 (very old technology) and occasionally VB.NET. After 3 years, feels like career path is stagnant and not much change. My question is what are the new technology or programming skills/language should I pickup?? I am kind of interested in Mobile Technology/App Development, but huge learning curve for me. Based on my existing .NET knowledge I kind of interested in Windows 8 apps too.

So, just post ur opinions.
