I found this interesting article about the balance between mathematical creativity and necessary content.

I don't want to make the discussion exclusively a pedagogic one, which is why I posted it here. Personally, I think mathematics is far more creative than commonly thought - at least if I take the many comments about mathematical rigor which I've read over the years into consideration. In my experience, one learns a lot and gains many different views on a topic, if forced to teach it. Every student you want to convince of a mathematical fact has their own way to it, so one needs different approaches. This is part of the mathematical creativity in my eyes, but certainly not the only one. I'm a regular reader of Terence Tao's blog, which is another great evidence of mathematical creativity. Of course there is plenty of room between Tao's brilliance and the necessity of ideas while teaching. Additionally, other than in physics, a new idea is usually easy to decide: either you can prove it or not. And if there is a proof, it is automatically no longer a personal theory - just more or less of interest.

Looks like cold fusion is still around.

The reactor used in the test is made of alumina and is significantly thinner than earlier hot E-Cat reactors.

They did do an experiment where they tried to go back and kill the father of the man destined to be the head of the new One-World government. They did kill his father, but it made no difference. They didn't understand why it didn't work. Robert Lazar was voicing the concept that time is quantitized or compartmentalized and that you can't change what has already happened in terms of the past.

There are some events that happen only once or twice in your lifetime, if at all. The last chance in this century to see the Transit of Venus across the Sun is on June 5-6.

The Transit of Venus occurs when it passes directly between Earth and the Sun. This occurs on a predictable pattern that repeats every 243 years, with a pair of transits occurring eight years apart, and gaps of 121.5 years and 105.5 years. The June 5-6, 2012 transit is the second of an eight-year pair, with the first having occurred in 2004. So if you miss this one, you will have to wait until 2117 to see the next one. There were no transits during the 20th Century.

The laptops, tablet, MP3's just to mention a few. Improved the Microscope & Telescope, color Cameras, Polaroid, Transistors ...Oh, and He was a Vegetarian!! Free Energy for which he's given credit to the Hindus' Vedas + Credit he's given to Michael Faraday, for all his preceding work, etc. He's buried in Belgrade (City of Lights? the White City, is it that New Jerusalem, or Crystal City that the Bible is alluding to??)

Something Strange Going On?

The mysterious maritime macabre continues in the Pacific Ocean off the northern coast of Peru. First, hundreds of dolphins began washing up on the beaches in the state of Lambayeque. Now, in the same area, hundreds of seabirds are joining the marine massacre.

More than 1,200 birds, including 538 pelicans, have been found on the beaches, reported TV Peru. Local fisherman report the deaths started about two weeks ago.

"When you have something this large, my gut would tell me that there's something traumatic that happened," Sue Rocca, a marine biologist with the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society, told CNN.

Just as with the dolphins, the cause of avian annihilation is unknown. Disease is a possible culprit, but no evidence has been found. Some have suggested a bloom of toxic algae or other microorganisms may have poisoned the food chain from the bottom up, but a government panel found no evidence of this.

The panel also has ruled out lack of food, interaction with fisheries, poisoning with pesticides, or contamination by heavy metals. No sign of injury from acoustic waves used to search for oil was found in the birds either.

The glasses use Google's Android operating system and are controlled with voice commands and motion sensors.
