Wildstar - Things to do at 50

Wildstar – What happens at 50?

Some of you may wonder, like me, how is the endgame content in Wildstar? Is the content rich enough to sustain players to top up their subscriptions and continue playing? Most of the games I tried may have a cool gimmick, which makes us start and play the game – but thereafter fail at providing sufficient end game content.
This is one of those games where some people may tell you that “the real game starts at max level”.

Lets take look at some of the early level50 PvE content and why reviews call this game the game that is "Setting the New MMO Standard"

About Elder Points
On the day your experience bar (XP bar) maxes out and you “DING!!! 50!!!”, the XP bar is replaced with an Elder Points bar (EP bar). Each time the bar increases thereafter, you will earn EP – up to a maximum of 140 EP per week (Weekly Cap). EP is used as an additional in game currency for various endgame activities and gears (similar to WoW’s Valor Points). There are a few ways you can cap your EP for the week – Vet Adventures, Vet Dungeons, Daily Quests or PvP.

[attachmentid=4040645][attachmentid=4040646][attachmentid=4040651][attachmentid=4040652]

The moment you have 150 EP, I would suggest the first thing to obtain is the “Genesis Key” from the Elder Vendor. The moment you equip the key, it will unlock a long chain quest for your raid attunement that enables you to raid. The chain quest will involve personal quests, group quests, vet adventures, vet dungeons, killing of world bosses, etc.

About Daily Quests
There are now 3 maps to complete daily quests. Each map shall have a mixture of solo-able content and group content. These maps are Crimson Badlands, Northern Wastes and Blighthaven. All these maps have reputation with some sweet rewards. Completing daily quests gives you reputation to buy items from quartermasters, costumes (you wear on top of your armour), gold (or platinum) and EP. In essence, even if you do not do adventures or dungeons, you will be able to reach our weekly cap just via daily quests.

[attachmentid=4040626][attachmentid=4040629][attachmentid=4040631][attachmentid=4040634]

About Veteran (Vet) Adventures
Your will have a choice of 4 vet adventures you can go to, and the genesis key will ask you to complete every one of them. Each Adventure requires 5 players (Tank, Heals, DPS) and has multiple choices enabling you to try different outcomes, different storyline and fight different bosses. Upon completion of the adventure, you will be granted a Rank – Gold, Silver, Bronze, Fail.

Gold rank is required to earn you a confirmed purple gear [epic], silver or bronze will typically earn you blue gears [lesser quality] only.

1.	Crimelords of Whitevale [CRIMELORDS]

[attachmentid=4040664][attachmentid=4040665]

In this adventure, you are a group of gangsters trying to create a name for your gang while trying to solve a crime. The choices in this adventure enables you to build alliances with other gangs, start a gang war, trade black market goods, avoid the police, burn down other gang’s base (and more) as what you would do if you were a mobster.

Personally I find Crimelords amongst the easiest and straight forward adventure with the least amount of uncertainty. As long as you complete all the objectives of each task (including timed tasks) with no deaths, you should be able to earn Gold Rank with no issues.

The adventure has +2 epic drops for Gold Rank.

2.	War of the Wilds [WOTW]

[attachmentid=4040667][attachmentid=4040673]

For MOBA fans - This is a similar to a DotA-style adventure. There are 2 bases, 3 lanes, uncontrollable creeps and 5 champions (heroes) per side. The objective of the game is to destroy the enemy base and kill enemy champions. You will control one of 5 champions group of 5 will compete against 5 AI champions.

There are flags (power cores) plated throughout the map. The game starts with these flags being neutral. As you capture more flags, you get more creeps and they become stronger until they over run the enemy base. There are 3 optional bosses that the group can choose to kill, which will enable the group to buff your creeps making them stronger, giving the group additional advantage to win.

There is an element of uncertainty here, as midway through the game you will receive optional quests. Though some are relatively easy, sometimes you get a quest that is ridiculously hard for the timeframe given. You will need to complete your optional quests and have +5 more hero kills (champion) than the other team to earn Gold Rank.

This adventure has +1 epic drop for Gold Rank

3.	Malgrave’s Trail [Malgrave]

[attachmentid=4040677][attachmentid=4040678]

Malgrave’s Trail is pretty much an escort quest through a desert. The storyline starts with your group rescuing a group of survivors from a ravaged town. Thereafter the caravan master will seek your help to escort the caravan through the desert to safe haven.

The caravan will start with 30 members and 100 of each resource (Food, Water, Feed). As you travel through the desert, your resources will deplete and you will need your group members to scavenge the desert for resources to keep the caravan going. The caravan will constantly come under attack and you will need to defend the caravan. Also, the caravan will have a fatigue bar that will keep going up. At selection locations, you will have the option to make camp and rest to reduce the fatigue bar. In order to achieve Gold Rank, simply keep all 30/30 caravan members alive until the journey ends.

There is a slight element of uncertainly (random events) that might happen during your journey which might cause you to fail. One of your members might go missing and you will have to search for him/her within a certain timeframe. Else, your might be attacked by desert flies and disease, where you will need cure the caravan. There might be surprise attacks on the caravan, so make sure you always have group members nearby. This will be the most draggy, long and gruesome adventure so far.

This adventure has +2 epic drops for Gold Rank.

4.	Siege of tempest Refuge [Siege]

[attachmentid=4040706][attachmentid=4040708]

Siege is Wildstar’s version of tower defense. The objective is to protect a generator inside a base. There are three(3) access points to the base – North, South and Mid. The group is given 5 solders to be placed throughout the map in order to defend the access points. These solders have the ability to be upgraded after every wave. There are numerous upgrade paths that you can choose from to make the soldiers stronger/provide buffs/different effects.

There will be numerous types of mobs that will attack randomly from either lane. These mobs will include Melee Troops, Ranged Troops, Stealth Troops, Tanks, Bunkers and many more. Every three waves, the group will need to fight a random boss. Though some bosses are harder than others, they also have different loot tables. This adventure also features a “Morale” bar which will gradually drop throughout the adventure and even more if you die. The more your morale drops, the less damage/healing you do – making the challenge harder and harder.

The main RNG here is the direction of which the ads spawn – meaning if you are fighting a tank in north, coupled with a bunker in south and then stealth units in mid… you might have some difficulty, especially if you are at low morale. Else it’s a fairly straight forward adventure.

In order to achieve Gold Rank, you will need to complete the Adventure (5/5 waves) with your generator >95%. This adventure drops +1 epic drops for Gold Rank.

Chain Quest

After you have obtained Silver Rank or better in ALL these adventures, your Genesis Key will lead you to another epic chain quest (Pacific Rim style). Once you have completed this quest, then you are required to complete all Veteran Dungeons with Silver Rank or better.

[attachmentid=4040719][attachmentid=4040720]

Veteran Dungeons

This will be the hardest part of the attunement quest by far. The four(4) Veteran Dungeons are crazy hard and super punishing for the average player. These four(4) veteran Dungeons respectively are – Veteran Stormtalon’s Lair [Stormtalon], Veteran Kel Voreth [Kel Voreth], Veteran Skullcano [Skullcano] and Veteran Sanctuary of the Sword Maiden [SOTS].

[attachmentid=4040731][attachmentid=4040734][attachmentid=4040741][attachmentid=4040742][attachmentid=4040747][attachmentid=4040748][attachmentid=4040752][attachmentid=4040755]

Stay Tuned for my next article on "Wildstar Dungeons"

World Bosses

Each map will have its very own world boss. These world bosses are raid-sized epic bosses that will need a raid sized group to bring down.

More information on world bosses soon.

After a completing a long and challenging attunement process... players are then able to enter their first 20-man raid. It is almost as if Carbine is preparing players, honing their skills in order to enter raids. Least we know that players that do manage to get attuned, has what it takes to raid.

For more information on our TRE guild, please refer to recruitment post in lowyat forums.

Else check out our website at: TRE Guild

Wildstar: WoW on Turbo

This post is to answer one distinct and troubling question all veteran gamers have out there – Which will be the next “great MMO”?

For those of you that have played MMOs for as long as I have, tried everything, spent a lot of money and have been disappointed time and time again; I feel you. No matter whatever you tried, there is always an itch that can never be really scratched as new games continue to either disappoint you or unable to keep you interested long enough.

Let’s face it – most of us are spoilt by World of Warcraft (WoW). During the time of dungeon crawlers, RPGs and 2D MMOs; most of us were awestruck and compelled by WoW. World of Warcraft in its original form had set the benchmark for MMOs across the world and remains up to today the single most successful MMO in the world. WoW was rich in content, well diversified for all player types, in depth and compelling lore and the best raids in the of all time. If you have never raided in WoW, you haven’t really raided at all. Because of WoW, we as gamers have higher expectations from the MMOs we play – especially if the game company intends to charge us a monthly subscription fees.

[attachmentid=3979636]

Reminiscing the good old days, WoW raids were epic – they were so methodical, technical and punishing that it pushes you to become the best you can be; in order to earn and keep that precious “raid slot”. Players are expected to perform, and come to raid on time and prepared – correctly gemmed, enhanted, hit cap, def cap, flask, resistance gears, pots, etc. If you are from ‘that time’, from 'that generation' of old school WoW, you will probably miss the old WoW as much as I do.

[attachmentid=3979639][attachmentid=3979640][attachmentid=3979638][attachmentid=3979644]

A lot of us can recall the “glory days” and when hard work meant you deserve a raid slot and the sense of accomplishment when you “finally made it” to new content. Clear MC -> start BWL, Clear BWL -> start AQ, clear AQ -> start Naxx. We used to wear epics like they matter, being part of the ‘elite few’ on the server that actually deserved epics, T2 epics or T3 epics. Today, the whole street is filled with new players in epics and orange cloaks with mere color variations and the words (Hard Mode) or (Looking for Raid) when you inspect a player. Only Blizzard was able to kill an epic game like WoW.

[attachmentid=3979643][attachmentid=3979645]

Since that time, a lot of us might have gone to try other games and some of us might have become so jaded with ‘the search’ that we have just merely just ‘given up’ searching. Maybe this is because no other MMO was able to impress you as strong as what WoW did in the past. A lot of the new games were “gimmicky” at best. Some of you might have gone back to buy WoD, maybe it’s because you think it’s still the best game in the world and always will be. But maybe some of you think that there are no other choices out there that measure up and Blizzard is the safest choice (News flash - alot of senior developers already left). Maybe you hate it or maybe you think it’s the best bet because no other games can last the test of time like the reigning 7-year champion.

[attachmentid=3979658]

Personally, I for one had been guilty of both (trying other games as well as going back to WOW). I had also left again and had also become jaded and weary after trying a multitude of games. I had almost given up hope when I found Wildstar. Sure it was bulky and unpolished in Closed Beta (compared to a 10-year developed game), but it had undergone so much improvement since. I was initially not impressed with the graphics until I understood why it was intentionally designed that way (you need to research this if you wanna understand why). I was not convinced with the future of the game, until I got to understand the core philosophies Carbine was built on. Finally, I was not convinced about how good it is until I tested the game in every aspect in both Closed /Open Beta. By every aspect, I am saying all classes, all class functionality – Tanking, DPS, Healing, Group-Play, Solo-Play, All Paths, All Professions, Adventures, Dungeons, Solo PvP and Group PvP. To quote Carbine, “You can take my word for it… or don’t take my word for it…. try it… try it up to level20 and go for the first dungeon… then tell us how cartoony and easy the game is.”

[attachmentid=3980444][attachmentid=3980446][attachmentid=3980447][attachmentid=3980449][attachmentid=3980451][attachmentid=3980452]

Personally, I do not think this game is geared towards new gamers / new MMO players that are looking for an easy win. Wildstar is fast paced, high skilled, content rich, action rpg gameplay, with very well thought out mechanics that really punishes you for making mistakes. For those into lore, even the unveiling of the lore itself requires significant work to discover hidden parts of the story just to put together. Truly the core philosophies of Carbine are reflected in their game. Remember that these are a group of senior developers, who created WoW; which left Blizzard with a mission to “Make a Better Game” by “Doing things Right”. So those of you that can understand this – I will invite all you veterans to join me to make this game great.

Article: Gamespot - Wildstar Devs "wants to do WOW right this time!"

[attachmentid=3979679]

It is because who I was, where I come from, what I can see today that enabled me to find this game…. It is my acceptance of the unknown, it is my experiences, and it is my willingness to change that enabled me to understand the game beyond the surface… LIKE ALL YOU VETERANS AND DISSATISFIED WOW PLAYERS ….This is who we are, this is what we are looking for and this is our uncompromising position of what makes a game great. (This is WILDSTAR!) It’s not making it easy for everybody; not everybody should raid. It is Carbine's core philosophies that have been embedded into the creation of Wildstar…. And this is what has convinced me this game will be one of the games that just might be in the running to become the “next great MMO”.

[attachmentid=3979685][attachmentid=3979687][attachmentid=3979688][attachmentid=3980437]

Because of the void, I have had time to focus on real life, on work, on building personal networks, on relationships, etc. A lot of veteran gamers no longer have the time, the energy, the commitment or the age to raid hardcore anymore. There shall always be that fear of being sucked into the abyss of gaming – especially with MMOs. Still there is still an itch to be satisfied. A great friend of mine reminded me that gaming is as much about friendship as it is about the game itself. Especially with friends we made in different countries and different states that we cannot meet up over the weekend or after work. But we can get together and do something in an MMO and laugh and joke as we used to. While soem believes that its no point just “getting by” in a game and some feels that they need to “own in this game” in our right, but we must never forget our friends that are here to just have fun and spend time with us. Friendship is one of the key philosophies we maintain at TRE.

Register now at: Gameredge signup
Guild Website:  TRE Guild

Sefira Tempetene - "Leave no man behind"

TL;DR:
- Wildstar is for Vet Wow Players that misses the old school days.
- Take a closer look at Wildstar
- Carbine is formed by senior developers from WOW that have something to prove.
- Games/Raids should not be made easier just to cater for new players
- Friendship is one of the cornerstones of TRE

Wildstar Guild

TRE (The Realm's Edge) is a PvX guild that has established itself in other games, and we are currently looking to expand our influence into Wildstar.

The guild has a long history of being a close knit community that has great achievements dating back to the days of World of Warcraft, as well as a more recent success in Final Fantasy XIV: ARR. Establishing ourselves as a gaming community, our player base comprises of both casual and hardcore players alike that play a variety of games.

Our ultimate goal is to create a comfortable environment that would cater to both the hardcore raider as well as a home for the more casual focused individual.

Our aim in Wildstar is to provide players with solid raiding experience, particularly with Wildstar’s large scale raids.
SWTOR: Operations BUG

Ever wondered why so many guilds around the world started doing 8-Man Hard Mode, but without finishing the last boss, suddenly kills the last boss in Nightmare?

We actually discovered this bug by accident quite recently and was very surprised that nobody has reported it in. We were even more surprised that BioWare allowed a bug of this nature to happen, as in most online games, a guild's progressions is used to measure the guild's success or capabilities. We however, believe that every player and guild should earn their place through hard work and perseverance.

We recently started doing 16-Man Hard Mode and there was one Friday night, we didn't have enough level50s online to run 16-Man. We waited till late and realized that perhaps it was family night for many of the members. As there were still many that actually came online and waited. Though late, we decided to cut the raid down to an 8-Man and have one officer bring the players that actually needed loot.

We went into a fresh Karagga's Palace (8-Man) and cleared the first 3 bosses. As it was getting late, we called it a night to be continued on Monday. Come Monday, we had more than 25 level 50s online. As the initial run was only 8 man, there would be 17+ members that still had a fresh KP. Finally we decided to make 2x 8-Man Ops teams - 1 team to continue with 3/5 and another team to start from 0/5. As one of the team consists of many new members doing Fabricator (4th boss) for the first time, they took awhile to learn the boss - to get down the timing for the puzzle and tank swap.

By that time, the second team had also cleared 3/5 and reached Fabricator, we decided to combine 2x 8-Man teams into 1x 16 Man team. That is when it happened. This is what we did - Both teams zone out of the instance. We disbanded team 1 (Friday team) and joined team 2 (fresh team), reset phase to 16-Man and zoned in. We started the boss as per normal but was shocked that during the first burn phase the boss went from 100% to 40% health. We killed the boss and progressed to Karagga himself. When we did Karagga, we were also equally surprised that the boss's health went down like water - thinking that 16-Man was a joke.

We didn't realize that we were fighting an 8-Man Operations with 16-Man!

At first we didn't notice the bug. Then after reset this week, we started with 16-Man Hard Mode and that is when we realized the difference. Bosses HP was 2M-4M as compared to Monday where all bosses were 950K-2M max. We decided to test out a theory. We disbanded and remade 2x 8-Man. One team went in and found that they needed to re-clear ads, boss HP was at 1.1M. The 2nd team (same leader as the 16-Man) found the ads had already been cleared and bosses' HP stuck was at 2.7M, even in 8-Man. That is when we realize how the bug works. However, we decided to report it and hopefully BioWare would get their technical people to fix it.

Hypothetically, if any guild were to decide to exploit the bug, they would be able to:

1) Create 2x 8-Man in Hard Mode - One team clear the 1 boss in Hard Mode. Have the second team wait outside/clear separately.
2) All zone out - Reset to 16-Man Nightmare (Nightmare and Hardmode has the same lockout)
3) Invite all the players from the second team into the operations group and zone into an 8-Man Nightmare with 16-members.

I am not saying that alot of guilds might already know how to use this bug, or that they have used it to get ahead. Makes you wonder when some guilds start 8-Man HM, then suddenly within the same week...has cleared 16-Man Nightmare last boss.

Perhaps it is a coincidence that numerous guilds with 16-Man Ops leap-frog during this timeline.

Cheers,
-Eldest of the Elitez

SWTOR: OPS GUIDE - EZ KARAGGA'S PALACE (HM)

ELITEZ GUIDE: EZ KARAGGA'S PALANCE (HARD MODE)

As promised, I have posted the first of the EZ series - EZ KARAGGA'S PALACE to help asians guilds that are planning to try HARD MODE. This guide is merely a work in progress and shall be enhanced from time to time. I haven't had much time to write recently, so I apologize in advance if this guide is shortcoming of your expectations. In this guide I would be going through only key mechanics that we found relevant to each fight.

[attachmentid=2697935][attachmentid=2697936][attachmentid=2697937]

If there is anything I left out, please feel free to correct/update me if you notice anything. Sadly, I had not been able to find a willing designer/artist to assist me within the week, thus my illustrations may be somewhat crude. Hope I am still able to communicate efficiently.

Overall, we find all the boss mechanics in Karagga's Palace (HM) relatively simple and is definitely recommended for all guilds that is deciding to start HM Operations to just try it.

1.   BONETRASHER

[attachmentid=2697913]

After clearing through some adds, the first boss that you encounter is Bonetrasher.

QUICK BRIEF:

Almost most guides you see online shall tell you to kite (referring to contantly running away from the boss melee range) if you are targeted, we find this to be an irritating task considering SWTOR does not have a Target of target interface. You may acquire Target of target by pressing Alt-T while targeting the boss, but who has the time to do that during a fight. We find the kiting strategy somewhat messy for us and had to deal with the issue of players running into each other and spreading swipe damage to one another. Hence, we decided to use our own method.

Recommended Raid Setup: 2 heals, 6 DPS (ranged preferred)

First, segregate your raid to four(4) different sections of the round room - 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock & 9 o'clock (No worries... I told BioWare to put in small platforms inside the room to mark the spots I am talking about ). Have your healers stand at opposite ends of the platform (either 12 and 6 o'clock or 3 and 9 o'clock). Put balance ranged DPS on the remaining platforms. The correct position is slightly in front of the platforms so that you do not get knock-back into the acid pool on the outer border.

[attachmentid=2697924]

OMG... I so need a designer...YUCKS

Assignments

Tanks - Wear your DPS set and pickup loose ads.

Healers - Stay calm and always heal the player that is targeted by the boss. HoT up the rest if you got time.

RDPS - Stay at your spot and burn the boss down as fast as you can.

DPS - Use a DoT spec and stay behind the boss if you are not targeted.

That's it~! (my mentor used to say I was long winded when during strategies... so I now i summarize)

For those that wants to know more....read on...

Fight description

Main Abilities to take note:

1. Taunt Immunity - This boss cannot be taunted
2. Swipe - Deals a frontal attacked 180 degrees from the direction the boss is facing
3. Smash - Smashes the ground, dealing damage and knocking down all players within the room
4. Sweep - Sweeps target off their feet, knocking them back a distance
5. Well Fed - Devours one of the guards increase attack damage by 50% and attack speed by 30%

When you engage the boss, the boss will target the person that aggro-ed him for a few seconds then he will change target towards a random player. The boss has no aggro table and is cannot be Taunted, meaning whoever he targets will have to tank him for a few seconds.

Because we split the raid into 4 sections, it is easy to know which player is targeted - healers may pre-cast heals/sheild/etc on the targeted player. Targeted player just stand your ground and continue DPS. The incoming damage can be healed through. Use personal damage reduction CD and Medpack if your Health drops dangerously low.

* Tip: If you get knock-backed, remember to return to your original position as fast as possible. If you are too far outside, you might get knocked into the acid. If that happens, call out to a Sorcerer to pull you back up

Bonetrasher attacks are slow, however he does have a Swipe ability damaging all targets in front of him. Because of this, Melee DPS will need to constantly move behind the boss to avoid the Swipe damage.

* Tip: Marauders try using your Force Camouflage when you are targeted or when you are late in avoiding a Swipe

Once in awhile the boss shall use Smash, dealing damage and knocking back everybody in the room. Healers remember not to panic when you see all health bars drop at the same time. Prioritize the target that the boss targeting and top him up first before working on the rest of the group.

Every few minutes, the boss shall summon small (Normal) humanoid ads. All DPS need to switch target and kill these ads as they spawn. If these ads are NOT KILLED, after a few seconds the boss shall Eat this ads and get a buff - Well Fed, increasing his damage and attack speed.

At 50% health, the boss shall summon 2 champion ads. Have somebody with taunt ability pull them and kill them as they spawn.

-Screen short and Loot-

Boss drops:

Rakata Helmet (all classes)

[attachmentid=2698024]

Columi Gloves  (all classes)

[attachmentid=2697954]

Video link:

[Post video link here]

2.   JARG & SORNO

After killing Bonetrasher, a door will open up allowing you to exit the pit. Go through the pit, kill a pack of mobs, go up the escalator to Karagga's room where you met him earlier. Seems like Karagga has employed some help - Bounty Hunters: Jarg and Sorno.

[attachmentid=2714542][attachmentid=2714545][attachmentid=2714546]

This is a fairly healing intensive fight and healing needs to be on the ball with dispelling as well.

QUICK BRIEF:

Firstly, you want to split your ops into two (2) DPS Balanced group. The key to this fight is that both Jarg and Sorno needs to die AT THE SAME TIME. One will enrage the moment the other die so you want to use CDs when this happens and keep the enrage window as small as possible.

SORNO - Put one Tank and Melee DPS on him - Tank Interrupts all the Heals and assign one Melee DPS to interrupt the Unload. SORNO will put a debuff on the tank increasing damage taken from Unload.

JARG - Doesn't really need a tank (maybe a high HP ranged DPS) and have your ranged DPS on him. Occasionally he does an AoE Fire Attack, hitting everybody in melee. JARG will put a debuff on the tank that increases Fire damage taken.

If you are having healing problems, just have your tanks swap targets occasionally.

The boss will teleport to the middle of the room, continue DPS. If JARG where to pull any player close to him, RUN OUT immediately else you get hit by the AoE Fire Damage. When transition and the boss flies to the top of the room, The boss will then summon 2x Carbonite Probes (one after another) that will freeze random players until the droid is destroyed. During transition, all DPS burn down the Carbonite Probe as fast as possible, be careful to stay away from JARG and avoid purple circles on the floor.

SORNO will fly to the balcony above the room and will snipe random players and deal massive damage, he will also cast missiles that will target random players marked by a purple circle on the floor. Then SORNO will come back down and continue the fight as per normal.

At around 40%, the bosses shall use "Plan D", where Jarg will fire a marking missile on a random player and SORNO will use Rail Shot on that player. This combination might one shot any player that is not in full heal, so it is critical to keep HP high at this phase while targeted players use survivability CD.

Assignments

Tanks - Tank the boss, remember to interrupt heals on SORNO. Swap tank if necessary.

DPS - Melee remember to interrupt Unload/Heals. All DPS stay away from JARG when he deals AoE Fire Damage. Kill Droids when SORNO jumps to the top of the room. Stay out of Purple Circle during transition. Remember that killing Carbonite Probes is a priority.

Heals - Keep HP high during the entire encounter, remember to dispel the DoT/Flame debuff on player. Take note on Rail Shot combo.

Ranged DPS can change targets to balance DPS so that both bosses die at the same time.

-DONE-

[attachmentid=2714552][attachmentid=2714551]

Details & Tips:-

JARG is pretty much like a Powertech, he deals alot of flame damage and can periodically Uppercut / Grapple you. He also ads a debuff that deals DoT on a player and increased flame damage taken. This flame debuff can be dispelled or healed through depending on your healing strategy. If this debuff is on the tank, it might make healing the Tank a nightmare. Jarg shall also occasionally Grapple a random player to him and do Flame Sweep (an AoE Flame attack). Because there is no warning for this attack, it is advised to keep your raid topped up, with a sorcerer shield on - to prevent any accidents.

SORNO is an irritating fella, because he needs to be constantly interrupted. Firstly he will cast Unload which deals heavy damage to your tank, make sure that this is interrupted. Then he will use Healing Scan (similar to Merc) ability that will heal him for ALOT. Tanks/Melee needs to interrupt the Heal ability as their main priority. If you assign one player to do all the heals, and another player to do all the unloads, you would be able to fit the interrupt CD. In transition, Sorno will fly to the top of the room and start shooting down on the ops group. His attacks are marked by red circles on the floor, and is easily avoidable. They will summon Carbonite Probes (one after another) that will freeze a random player. All DPS needs to kill these droids FAST.

*Tip: Warrior classes with Force Charge - try targeting the SORNO while he flies on top of the room and use Force Charge. Do this only when Droids are not a problem for the group and SORNO Health is significantly higher than JARG.

*Tip: Assassins / Marauders try using your Stealth/Force Camo when targeted for Rail Shot combo.

*Tip: Agents use your Orbital Strike / Bounty Hunters use your Death from Above when both boss flies to the middle of the room - can cheat meter

*Tip: If your group is Ranged Heavy, it is better to put just 2 interrupts on SORNO and have all ranged DPS to stack Armour Penetration Debuff on JARG [Agent +20%, Merc +20%, Jugg Tank +2-%] and burning him down to low HP (5%~10%). It is easy for Ranged DPS to change target to SORNO and burn him down before going back to kill JARG.

*Tip: Snipe can be avoided by running under the balcony when SORNO flies up above the room.

Try to avoid damage taken as much as possible as it is already a healing intensive fight. Defensive CD during Rail Shot combo is important for survivability.

Boss drops:

Rakata Belt Token (all classes)

TOR-Loothttp://www.tor-loot.com/Loot/Source/80

Columi Offhand (all classes)

TOR-Loothttp://www.tor-loot.com/Loot/Source/80

Video link:

[Post video link here]

3.   FOREMAN CRUSHER

As you exit the sewer pipes and into the open area, clear the first pack of ads... then turn right along the river... make your way towards the end of the river. Clear the group of ads along the riverbank and you would be able to see Giant-Turret-1. Clear ads and click on the control panel. Afterwhich, make your way down the path and go up the slope. Go up slightly along the slope and turning off the left side of the slope just before you reach the top.... follow along the rim edge of the upper platform (without aggro-ing any ads) until to reach Giant-Turret-2 below you. Clear ads and then activate it. Giant-Turret-3 is just down the road - clear ads and activate it. There will be an announcement to say that turret targeting has been synchronized.

Go back the way you came... walk along the ledge and make your way toward the top of the aforementioned slope. There will be one single ad there and you will notice that the force field door has been opened. Remember to dispel while killing this ad.

[attachmentid=2697987]

This is a fairly simple fight - semi tank and spank. As long as your tank is alert - you should have no problems with this fight.

QUICK BRIEF:

Before you start the fight - make sure that everybody has walked past the barrier where the force field door was.

As you start the fight, Tank runs in and grab Foreman Crusher, he will AOE knockback everybody the moment you aggro him - save your Force Charge or Sprint for the knockback. DPS clear the strong ads (@15K HP each) that was chained to the boss, then DPS the boss.

The boss has a 3 main abilities to look out for:-

1. FRENZY - Several times throughout the fight there will be an announcement that the boss has frenzied - His body will glow red, increasing his damage and attack speed. When boss is frenzy, tankers need to kite the boss until the end of frenzy. While he is frenzied, the boss CANNOT BE TAUNTED. After frenzy, he will cast a knockback then reset his aggro. Remember to taunt the boss after frenzy.

2. THROW BOULDER - The boss will throw boulders that deal heavy AoE damage to a random player. This will be marked with a red circle on the floor. GTFO the moment you see the red circle.

3. SUMMON ADS - Every 1 minute or so, the boss will summon 4 ads that will come through the gate. Simply gather them and AoE the ads down.

Throughout the fight he will cast AoE knockback.... Healers need to take note and top players off.

-DONE-

Details & Tips:-

This is almost a tank and spank fight with few basic mechanics to look out for so that you do not fall asleep.

*Tip:Use an assassin tank - life will be much easier. If you use a juggernaut tank - DO NOT USE intercede, you will loose aggro almost immediately.

*Tip: Have your Marauders use Predation during FRENZY to give your tank an additional speed boost.

*Tip: Used to be able to Obfuscate the boss - making it really a tank and spank fight. This has been fixed as at 1.1.1

*Tip: Sorcerers - if your AoE can slow - the ads would be a piece of cake. Else use Juggernaut slow / smash. Death from Above + Orbital Strike = yes pls.

[
Boss drops:

Rakata Bracer Token (all classes)
TOR-Loot

Xenotech Leggings (all classes)
TOR-Loot

Video link:

[Post video link here]

Heavy Fabricator Trash

Before you reach the next boss, you will need to clear through some of the most irritating groups of ads in the area. If these ads are not handled correctly, your ops group will find themselves paying unnecessary repair bills even before they reach the boss.

Each pack of ads will contain:

1x Hunter-Creeper Droid
2x Attack-Science Technician and/or Mechno-Assault Specialist (3x in the 3rd pull)
1x Arsenal Droid

Basically the Hunter-Creeper Droid cannot be crowd controlled or interrupted and will start casting “sounding alarm” as soon as engaged. When the cast finishes a Murder Droid will spawn. The Hunter-Creeper Droid will continue spawning Murder Droids via the “sounding alarm” ability until killed. What makes this tricky is the Attack-Science Technicians and Mechno-Assault Specialists heal the droids for more than you can damage them.

Only in 8-man
If you CC one of the Technicians/Specialists the other will break it out almost instantly. To combat this, use a stealther to out-of-combat CC one or two of the Technicians/Specialists and then use a regular CC to initiate combat. If all of them are CC’d then they won’t be able to break each other out.

in 16-man it gets more tricky as you are unable to CC any of the Technicians/Specialists. What we did was split our dps - use 2-4 dps (depends if your Technicians/Specialists are going down fast enough) to burn down the Hunter-Creeper Droid and the rest follow a focus fire kill order on Technicians/Specialists. In the meantime, have a tank grab Murder Droids that spawn and kite them around the room while your 2nd tank pickup Arsenal Droid (face away from raid). If DPS is fast enough, the number of Murder Droids should be manageable when the Hunter-Creeper dies.

Our kill order is normally: Technicians/Specialists -> Hunter-Creeper -> Murder Droids -> Arsenal Droid.

Tanks and healers please that note that Murder Droids will explode when they die. DPS you should know how to run out of the incoming explosion if your HP is low - Remember - dead DPS is no DPS - hence a good place to train your awareness and survivability. Else you can bribe a healer to shield/tunnel heal you through

3.   G4-B3 Heavy Fabricator

One of my personal favorite fights in the game in Karagga's Palace. The fight requires good coordination and high dps. In essence it is a technical fight as well as a gear check. With a good combination of both, your raid should have no issues downing this boss and moving onto Karagga himself.

The fight evolves around 2 basic mechanics:-
i) The stacking buffs on the boss itself
ii) The puzzle that remove these buffs

You will need to split your raid group to 2 groups - one to handle upper platform (puzzle) and the rest to handle bottom platform (boss)

QUICK BRIEF:

You will notice that the puzzle may fire to 3 diff columns - these are directly under the columns and is marked with yellow (dangerous area) on the floor.
For explanation sake we shall label this as 3 (LEFT) - 2 (MID) - 1 (RIGHT) (where the boss is standing at start)

[attachmentid=2750827]

Raid members on top merely needs to arrange the puzzle accordingly: 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3.

Tanks need to move the boss in accordance to the puzzle arrangement: 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3.
Melee DPS - DPS boss, kill stun droids, run out when puzzles FIRE.
Range DPS - DPS boss, help kill stun droids / proximity droids.
[TOP Platform] DPS - DPS boss after 1 fires, else focus on completing puzzles fast.

Boss

There are 3 things you need to take note of:-
1) Buffs: Exotech Armour (reduces damage taken) - when it reaches 6 and above - the boss is virtually not taking any damage.
2) Buffs: Powerhouse (increase damage and attack speed)
3) De-buff: Adds stacking Armour debuff on your tank.

Puzzle

The first column (1) removes the boss' Exotech Armour and increases damage taken by 200% for few seconds. If the members on top of the platform needs to help DPS - the best time would be when the boss takes a debuff from (1).

The second column (2) removes the boss' Exotech Armour and clears all the droids in the room. Though you may kill stun droids immediately, it would be prudent to just ignore proximity droids if possible as the puzzle shall clear them from time to time with (2).

The third column (3) resets the boss' Powerhouse stacks to 0. As Powerhouse keeps stacking up with the armour debuff, healing will get tighter and tighter until the boss will basically ONE-SHOT the tank. Hence it is important to reset Powerhouse when able.

Have your tank move the boss in accordance to the puzzle arrangement (1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3). You may use a DPS-Tank to taunt and offtank the boss - when stacks are getting too high. Tank to swap back when debuff drops.

-DONE-

Details & Tips:-

*Tip:Use an assassin tank - life will be much easier. Assassins are not dependent on Armour so does not matter much if the Armour de-buff gets high.

*Tip: For those on the top platform, use ranged knock-back abilities to push the proximity droids off the platform to save time.

*Tip: Puzzle people only:

Detail Illustration:  There are 3 pieces to the puzzle: - [  |  ], [ || ] and [ ||| ].

I would suggest everybody that is doing the puzzles to understand the methodology below. After awhile, our puzzle players were able to do the puzzle with no communication on vent at all - just common understanding of the methodology.

These 3 pieces are stacked accordingly:-
[  |  ] on top
[  || ] in middle
[ ||| ] at bottom

-FIRE-

A simple trick we put together for puzzle players (top). If you wish to move the puzzle to whichever column, move the top piece [ | ] there first.

For example: after the initial blast at RIGHT (1) and you wish to move the puzzle to MID (2), the efficient method would be:

[ | ] to MID (2), [ || ] to LEFT (3) ->
[ | ] to LEFT (3), [ ||| ] to mid (2) ->
[ | ] to RIGHT (1), [ || ] to mid (2) ->
[ | ] to MID (2) -> FIRE!

Next, you want to move the puzzle from MID (2) to LEFT (3), so remember our rule of thumb [ | ] to your desired location first. So, it would look like:-

[ | ] to LEFT (3), [ || ] to RIGHT (1) ->
[ | ] to RIGHT (3), [ ||| ] to LEFT (3) ->
[ | ] to MID (2), [ || ] to LEFT  (3) ->
[ | ] to LEFT (3) -> FIRE!

After you understand the methodology and get some practice on the puzzle - the boss is fairly simple. The rest is about DPS-ing fast and surviving the droids.

As a rule of thumb, Exotech Armour should not go higher than 6 stacks. If it reaches 7 stacks, it means that the arrangement of the puzzle is too slow and most likely you will hit the enrage timer.

<to be continued>

SWTOR ELITEZ GUIDE: THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU HIT 50 - by Eldest of the Elitez

Prologue

The reason i have endeavored to write this guide is because of two(2) reasons:-

1) The guild has recently been approached by an Affliate Marketing Company to recruit gamers to write guides for new games. While this is a commercial endeavor for the guild and even though in its nascent negotiation stage, I figured that I would get back into the habit of writing. Its been awhile since i last pen my thoughts and am honestly worried that my writing will not measure up. Might want to recruit a designer in the future to make our guides more interactive.

2) It has come to my attention that there are numerous Elitez players that have left WOW to start their own guild in SWTOR on other servers - they are feeling lost and unsure of what to do. Thought it is saddens me to part with a guild mate, I wish all of you the best in your future endeavors. Hopefully, my guide would be able to aid you in anyway and that one day you may find your way home. Remember that all of you are not only my friends but my brothers-in-arms and you shall always have a place to call home that is always ready to welcome you back.

I apologize in advance if this guide is not of Premium quality - It was put together under an hour during my lunch break.

Thank you all Elitez members

Special thanks to the other SWTOR Elitez officers - IGN: Landris (GuildMaster), Okidayaa, Flix, Raxe (Exquisitus), Forsakenz (Helborn) for their hard work and perseverance in helping me prepare this guide. I am sure the more experienced players would not need to read this and might find it redundant. However, his guide was written taking into account that there are many new gamers and casual players in the guild/community as well.

This is merely my perspective - Perhaps others might have a more efficient way to reaching certain objectives, please do not hesitate to share. I know casual players might find that there are too many things to do and hard to complete these items alone - that’s why it is always a good idea to play with friends or join a good guild so that you may help each other out.

1.	DO NOT BE AFRAID TO ASK (ANY OFFICER OR SENIOR MEMBER) FOR HELP. This is for new gamers. Officers are there for a reason (not just to chat in /o) – in most guilds, each officer of the guild are charged with tasks and research assignments. They should be able to assist you with anything you need within the game. So new gamers, bear in mind that is an MMORPG meaning that you are encouraged to make friends and network within the game. Note that the guild ranks involve taking up responsibility on their parts as well.

2.	COMPLETE YOUR CLASS QUEST This will unlock the chain quest that leads you to ILUM, where you will be asked to do a chain that unlocks your ILUM [DAILY] quests. Once completed, Head over to BELSAVIS and speak to the guy at the Orbital Station, he will give you the chain quest to unlock your BELSAVIS [DAILY] quests.

[attachmentid=2687931][attachmentid=2687932][attachmentid=2687930]

3.	COMPLETE YOUR MATRIX CUBE – This would be your best stats relic and first big upgrade at level50. The process of creating the Matrix Cube involves travelling to different planets to collect Matrix Shards found from various Datacrons. There are various shard colors and the combination would be different for each class. A “How to” for each class would be too lengthy to explain in this guide, please search in Youtube for Matrix Cube guide. Else ask your class officer for help.

[attachmentid=2687916]

4. COMPLETE YOUR LEVEL50 [DAILY] QUESTS. Your level50 [DAILY] quests may be found in BELSAVIS and ILUM. These give you an average of 250K credits per day as well as Artifact [Purple] Mods, Armouring and Enhancements. Most importantly, you earn 25 DAILY Daily Commendations per day. These are used to purchase higher level gear later – so collect them. I will not elaborate here on how to complete them in less than 30 mins; maybe that shall be another topic for a different guide.

[DAILY] QUESTS SUMMARY:

BELSAVIS [DAILY] QUESTS (16xDaily Comms)
This series requires the completion of a Bonus series that starts on the space station, the quests are granted as you complete this series, take a few hours to do.

Credits earned from vendor items and quests after all Belsavis dailys: 125k
Boss mobs each drop an epic item on 2 and 4 person quests.

[attachmentid=2687949][attachmentid=2687950]

{South: Imperial Domination Outpost} (8xDaily coms)

[DAILY] Invisible Threat -- Kill 10 stealth troopers and 2 commanders
Rewards: 1xDaily com, creds

[DAILY] Unintended Consequences -- Recover 3 wraith box components then use at terminal near end of bunker
Rewards: 1xDaily com, creds, and companion rep

[DAILY] Heroic +4 -- Kill Lord Raxxus
Rewards: 3xDaily com, creds, rep, pick between 2 armor enhance or a blue box

[DAILY] Heroic +4 -- Destroy generators
Rewards: 3xDaily com, credits, rep, pick one item 4 lvl50 orange companion weps blue staff or blue lock box

{North: via south Teleporter} (8xDaily Coms)

[DAILY] Found in Translation -- Recover 24 weapons
Rewards: 1xDaily com, creds, rep

[DAILY] Ancient Transmissions -- Recover console key and use console
Rewards: 1xDaily com, creds

[DAILY] Reluctant Volunteers -- Capture savants 3
Rewards: 1xDaily com, creds, rep

[DAILY] Deadly Mutation -- Kill 5 creatures and destroy 5 equipment
Rewards: 1xDaily com, creds, rep

[DAILY] The Carriers of Xenovirus Prime -- Scan 4 cells in bunker
Rewards: 1xDaily com, creds, rep

[DAILY] Heroic +2 -- Jill jedi master
Rewards: 3xDaily com, creds, rep, 1 choice of 2 purple mods or 1 blue lock box

ILUM [DAILY] QUESTS (8xDaily Comms)
No companion rep is granted from this series.
Credits made: 95k

[attachmentid=2687970][attachmentid=2687971]

[DAILY] A Tightned Grip -- Kill 8 rep forces, obtain battle plans
Rewards: 1xDaily com, credits

[DAILY] Defend the Shipment -- Kill waves of mobs after clicking box
Rewards: 1xDaily com, credits

[DAILY] Operation Shatterstorm -- Click panels on com towers x5
Rewards: 1xDaily com, credits

[DAILY] Rightful Owner -- Collect equipment boxes x5
Rewards: 1xDaily com, credits

[DAILY] Sabotage -- Plant bomb on equip then defend
Rewards: 1xDaily com, credits

[DAILY] Heroic +2 Poisonous Strategy -- Click control panel and kill jedi x2
Rewards: 3xDaily coms, credits, 1 choice between 4 epic enhancements or a blue box

5. I know finding a level50 mainhand is difficult - drops from Kaon and False Emperor btw. You can replace the Mods, Armouring, Enchancements with the purple [Artifact] ones (if you find it necessary) that you get from your dailies.A shortcut for those that love PVP, you may obtain the level50 PVP gear from Warzone commendations. These give you a big boosts in your base stats compared to blues/greens - only difference is one secondary stat (expertise) is useless in PvE.

6. Notable references:
a)	Tionese Weapons – Mainhand [drops from The False Emperor – HK47]
b)	Offhand [drops from The Foundry – HK47]
v.	Implants & Earrings - Blue BoE Implants [with augment slots] have better stats than tionese puple [without augment slots], then upgrade to Columi

Full set 5/5 Tionese would be your entry level gear for [Normal] Operations.

We would recommend that you start with [HARD] FLASHPOINTS such as The Black Talon[HARD], The Foundry [HARD] to get some gear and collect some Tionese / Columi Commendations before working your way to The False Emperor [HARD], Directive 7 [HARD], Kaon Under Siege [HARD]. However, if you have a capable team – go for it.

If you are unsure of the fights and is worried, it’s best to ask an officer or a senior member to walk you through your first time.

COLUMI [Tier 1.0] is obtainable via:-
i. Crafting - Synweaving, Armourtech

7.	PVP PEEEPOL: DO YOUR [DAILY] PVP QUESTS

I know it is can be de-motivating when you go in alone and get pawned by a team with full Champion gear. Even before they implement Arenas, the Warzone [Battleground] system is still awesome. My best advice at this stage is to go in with friends and guildmates so that you can laugh at all the things that happen inside. At least you get commendations that will help you do better in future. And it is even more rewarding when you win due to better teamwork.

Get your Centurion gear first if you are having problems surviving, else save 800 Warzone Commendations. Change 600 Warzone Commendations for 200 Mercenary Commendations [use 30 WZ comms to buy 10 Merc comms]. Use this to buy the Champion Lockboxes [200 Mercenary + 200 Warzone commendations] – this gives you 3 Champion Commendations OR 1 Champion Commendation and 1 Champion Tier pcs. Expertise is a by far the most important PVP stat in this game, as expertise not only reduces damage received by other players, but also increases damage done to other players.

8. IF YOU CAN DO ALL THAT - AND STILL CLAIM TO BE CASUAL

Go around the galaxy and experience collect Datacrons. I shall not be release a full datacron guide at this juncture. Kindly refer to Youtube.
Get your crafting profession to maximum.
Do quests/buy gifts to max out affection with your companion. One of them will end up marrying you.
Get full columi for your favorite companion. Use GREED only. - This would be a challenge.
Else Level an alternate and experience other storylines. The RP in this game is just awesome.\

Thats it for new players. Hope that my guide would be able to assist you in anyway. Thank you for reading.

My Operations: Boss strategy guide and How to [Class] guide shall be released at a later date. Hope that i can do a better job that this one.

That is if i can find the time.

Thank you all for reading.

Eldest of the Elitez

KP (Hard Mode) Ops Guide [Draft] is out: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f...0#entry49191196

Elitez opens its doors in SWTOR. Calling all Asians...

We are currently on Nadd's Sacrophagus and shall be moving to the new Asia Pacific Servers when server transfers are resolved.

[attachmentid=2714717]

About Us

The Elitez is an 6-year Online Gaming Community comprising of players mainly from South East Asia [GMT+8]. We started off in World of Warcraft with a small team of dedicated players, to build it into one of the largest progressive Malaysian guilds in Thaurissan. With an experienced management team hailing from different backgrounds, and a diverse group of dedicated players ranging from casual, semi-casual and hardcore players - Elitez shall always be the home for many in whatever game they play. We are now opening our doors and expanding our reach into various games that includes WOW, Battlefield 3 and Star Wars: The Old Republic. Many in the guild are new players, that are either leveling or new level 50s. Elitez believes in welcoming new players/gamers and lending a hand whenever possible.

[attachmentid=2714722][attachmentid=2714723]

Progression & Events

Being only 1-month old in SWTOR, we have now only managed to progress to 5/5 [Hard Mode] Eternity Vault and 5/5 [Hard Mode] Karagga's Palace.
Updated: 4/5 Nightmare Eternity Vault and 5/5 Nightmare Karagga's Palace

On a weekly basis we are running 16-Man [Normal] Operations and World Bosses to gear up new players.
On daily basis we have 5-6 teams actively running Flashpoints, few Dailies Questing groups as well as 2-3 PVP groups.

[attachmentid=2714718][attachmentid=2714742][attachmentid=2714766]

[attachmentid=2714696][attachmentid=2714750]

Come play SWTOR with the Elitez experience.

[attachmentid=2714736]

Closing Message

We invite all Asians to unite with us and venture boldly with us into this unknown land/game - to be the pioneers that pave the way forward and be remembered by all that follow in our footsteps. Friends, Guild-mates, Fellow-gamers, lend me your ears - For today I put it to you; that it is us, the players, that determines the success of any game on our land. That it is us, that shall determine whether we want a place in foreigner's land or whether we build a place of our own. It is up to us, coming together, to ensure that the Asian Gaming Community shall not only survive; but shall have their place - be seen, heard and respected by gamers from all walks of life. And with this, I invite all Asians to come - not to rally behind us, but to stand beside us and write your legacy in the Codex of Star Wars: The Old Republic

[attachmentid=2714726][attachmentid=2714745][attachmentid=2714748]

[attachmentid=2714727][attachmentid=2714728][attachmentid=2714747]

See you in The Old Republic..

My warmest regards,

Eldest of the Elitez

SWTOR - Follow us on facebook [Elitez of the Empire on Nadd's Sacrophagus] http://www.facebook.com/groups/302744316432711/
WOW - Follow us on facebook [TheElitez] http://www.facebook.com/groups/318995210050/

P.S.
