Hi All,

We are "Fairprice Finest", an Alliance GMT+8 guild on the Felstriker Server of WoW Classic.

The TL;DR, we are a bunch of old men consisting of some people from Aussie, mostly from SG and have a fair number of Malaysians. Most of us have raided till BWL in Vanilla, some up to AQ40, whilst most never reached Naxx, we are hoping to see it happen this time given the 2nd chance from Blizzard.

Mature, chilled and fun guild, meshed with the usual nonsensical banter and crazy comments (don't be overly serious, we are strictly an 18+ guild).

I'm Jsha and am the recruiting officer for healers on our guild, we already have a core team of people and farming BWL/MC/Ony regularly. We raid at 1130 p.m. ST, 2 days a week currently, 1 day BWL, 1 day MC + Ony.

We try to space out the raids as much as possible, knowing that most of us are already older men with families and commitments, we don't do 16 hour raiding and 8 hour farming days.

We are now opening our roster for 1 more Holy Priest, 1 more Holy Pally and maybe 1 more DPS class which we have yet to decide.

How do i start? Mmhm, ok. This is gonna be a long thread but please do read if you spare time. Sorry for the wall of text, but i just don't know how else to describe the situation.

I'm 25 and have been lurking in CC since june 2011 but i never knew i had to actually write in this time for advice. I appreciate your comments and would love some advice as well too because i know i shouldn't be talking about this to our friends as we have mutual friends.

It started like this, a couple of weeks ago, my girlfriend wanted to go The Hills in Jalan Dungun with her friends, prior to that however, she was in 1 Utama with a close girlfriend. So, she called while I was having buying dinner in Damansara Uptown with my brother and in turn, i told her, "Drive safely, call me when u get home after the outing".

She replied," I didn't drive!I'm gonna take a cab"

It was 10:30pm at that time, so i was like "It's ok, i can pick you and drop you off at the place la, give me 20 mins, I'll just get home with my bro and grab my car."

She was like," Its ok, i don't wanna mafan you"

I replied," No trouble at all, but why didn't you ask T (Her very close buddy), that you needed to go to The Hills, I bet she would gladly drop you off too."

She replied," I don't wanna mafan her and i didn't tell her"

I said," Like that you rather take a cab meh? May not be the safest of options, why didn't you tell me earlier? Who's dropping you back home?"

She said," K (her Gay Best Friend), will do it."

Me: Ok, mm, will it be too much trouble for him? He needs to drop of B (Another close guy friend that tagged along), at Setapak, the way i look at it, its easier for him to go to KL after the drinks and drop B off and then go back to Klang.

She: Aiyah, don't worry la.

Me: I'm not worried, maybe me dropping you off would be the better option right?

She: No need la, don't wanna mafan you.

Me: Why would you rather take the taxi when I can drop you off?

Bla bla bla, so i managed to convince her that I could drop her off and so on and so forth. However, on the way there, she was asking me why was I so worked up about the issue, I was like, it's almost 11, taking a cab is expensive and god knows what type of taxi driver you will meet la.

She started raising her voice, saying that she used to do all this in Australia, why can't she do it here in Malaysia. I was like, its just not so safe, and furthermore i'm offering at no trouble to myself.

She got abit angry and said that "You know what, if i didn't tell you, you wouldn't care."

I was completely astounded that she could say something like that so, i was like," Yea, if it wasn't you i really wouldn't"

That was the end of it, we talked about it later on and i got my point through, so everything was free, easy and happy.

Untill Valentine's Day, we celebrated earlier on the weekend before so i was free of the social norm that day, and i agreed to play badminton with my friends in Subang Jaya at night.

About 10:30, i received a text from her saying that she was gonna pick up her workers from 1 Utama (she and her family has recently started a F&B business and have sent the workers to 1 Utama for training) and drop them back in Kepong.

I was ,"Ok, is your brother with you?". Because it is usually him who does it.

She said that she was alone, and I was like, oh dear. Alone, in the car with 3 foreign workers, who you don't know since you only hired them like a week before. And no one else accompanying. I started seing red flags, so i asked, "Why isn't your brother with you?"

She raised her voice and said that this is also her job, that she will be working with alot of guys in future. And that her brother has smething up and had to attend to it.

So i said, "Mm, why didn't you tell me earlier? I could accompany you, god knows what might happen and I don't know if those people are completely trustworthy or not. What if something unintended happens?"

She got angry and started saying that it will be okay and that she will be back soon etc.

So i was like, "Ok, u know what, go ahead with that. (I was supposed to go pick her after badminton to my house for a nightcap). Call me when u pick them up and call me when u have dropped them off. I'll leave badminton soon and go over to your place. And pick u after u get back home."

She was ok with that and i waited till she got home at that time it was about 11:30 p.m.

So, then i wanted to have a discussion about all this and that was when i got into trouble again..i guess.

Me: Why didn't you call me la? I can teman you send those people back.

She: (Raises voice) Babe, its my job too, my brother had something on so he couldn't do it. Why are you harping on the subject?

Me: I know, i know, and i'm concerned about your safety too. But sometimes it really isn't safe, it was 11 already u know, you don't even know those people. Yes, you have sent them back before but it was with your brother.

She: i will be working with many men soon, so what's the deal?

Me: if you're working with those men in a kitchen environment, its not even bad. Its in a shopping mall, what could really happen? I understand that, but it's quite dangerous. Why won't you understand that? And if i can help mitigate that risk, why not? Does your father even know you're doing all this?

She: Daddy doesn't know about all this.

Me: (Facepalmed maximum) So, do you think he would allow you to do something like this offhand. I understnd that emergencies pop up and ur brother can't make it but i can. Have you ever thought that your safety is also part of my priority?

She: She started raising her voice about how other jobs are risky too, should she be worried about when i'm doing somrthing. Saying that she is a really independant person, that that is how she is. And that nothing happened, let it be the end of it. Why are you so paranoid about it for?

Me: I know you and i know all that. All i'm saying is why not mitigate the risk? I mean, should we wait for something to happen then only start to take action? Why not err on the side of caution? This isn't Australia, if it was, i would not even worry half as much.

She: I don't want you to worry because it will make me feel bad.

Me: So, shouldn't we talk about this? As much as i can help, of course i will. Why not, it will help ensure your own safety too. So, is this the case as before? If i don't know i don't care? I shouldn't have a say about this either?

She got really angry and started crying, and said that i didn't understand her and i didn't know her and that i think that she is not in this relationship because i am saying really cruel things like why would i bring up previous issues like "I don't know, i don't care".

So, being me, seing a girl cry melts my heart and i was comforting her and making it up to her as well. She was tearing and said she didn't want to talk about it anymore because she has an appointment with suppliers in the morning and didn't want to go puffy eyed so we just slept it off with her in my arms and her saying that she loves me very much.

I don't know what to do or respond to this so my question really is, am i really being paranoid and an ass about all this? And is there another way i can bring future issues?
