Hey all,

The services I'm posting here I do daily as a full time job.

In this ad obviously I will do it outside my company's umbrella at a fraction of the cost. I mention this so you know I'm familiar with the things I'm offering and I hope you will like my services.

Office related networking:
- VPNs between branches (link remote places and make them into a single LAN). Or remote-dial in (ie going overseas and dialing back to your office network securely over VPN).

- Failover/Loadbalance for two or more internet lines, so if 1 line goes down you will still be online.

- Filtering (ie block stuff like social media or harmful content).

Some of the things can't be done with your stock TM/Maxis/TIME or Tplink (and friends) routers, if you don't have suitable hardware I can source some for you at very low prices.. depending on your budget (I have contacts selling cheapo boxes till highest end).

General:
Hotspots: Setup is simple, none of that "shared profit" headache. Just your own landing page (without even powered by xzy) and settings that you want (ie only allow 1 hour surfing..etc).

Speed optimization/fair use: this is especially useful for places like cybercafes, where you need low latency and must control abusive users.

Above is my main specialty, in addition, I'm familiar with filesystems, mirroring, backups (local and remote).. and the simpler stuff like formatting, setting up new machines..etc.

No matter how big or small your need, I enjoy my work and will take whatever is related to it.. so whether you need to setup a linux backup cluster with offsite mirrors, or just format your windows laptop and install drivers, I'm game.

Perdana V6: replace alternator myself?

Hey all

I'm thinking of replacing the dying alternator on my perdana v6 myself (for those wondering, power steering fluid leaked on it and its soaked).. always wanted to do some light car maintenance (relive childhood memories with my uncle who worked on his cars)..

So I got the service manual for the 6A12 mitsubishi engine and saw the procedure is not that complicated (from the diagrams).

Before this, I called a mechanic and asked him to come fix my car, however he told me "perdana v6 alternator replacement lot of work, cannot do onsite, bring to my shop".. so I ask the DIYers/mechanics here, is that really the case? is it too much work? Is it because swapping the alternator on a perdana V6 requires eg removing other parts?

The alternator itself (from the manual) is only held in place by a couple of bolts and obviously need to remove the drive belt. What is it the "lot of work" the mechanic is talking about?

Item(s) conditions: Phone works fine and battery holds charge well, only issue is sometimes when unlocking the phone (after a restart) the touch screen won't respond, all I need to do is lock and unlock the phone and it works normally. I don't know if this is software or hardware.. You can test the phone yourself and see that it works fine, just a simple annoyance that sometimes you need to lock again and unlock to re-activate the screen.
