Guide for buying PSP, first timer!

As stated, this is my first time buying a PSP. I've wanted one for a long time but never gotten one. I have PSP 3000 in mind for now, and I would like any other opinions from you guys. (Not going for something too expensive though)

Since it's my first time buying I really know nothing about PSP. I've done some reading online and I got more confused @@
Some of the things I read and would like more explanation are like...
1. What is a ISO? What is it for and how do I get it?
2. What is a UMD?
3. How do I get to download games for free?
4. What is a modded PSP?
5. What is CFW?

For now these are the confusing things. IF there are any additional information you think I ought to know please do tell me. THANKS ALOT!! Your help is very much wanted!
