China’s former justice minister Tang Yijun was sentenced by a Chinese court to life in prison today for taking bribes, state broadcaster CCTV reported.

The Xiamen Intermediate People’s Court in the southeastern coastal Fujian province said Tang had illegally accepted property worth more than 137 million yuan (RM77.7 million) between 2006 and 2022, and abused his position to seek benefits for entities and individuals in areas such as company listings, land buybacks, bank loans and case handling, according to CCTV.

“Tang’s actions constituted the crime of bribery,” the court said in its ruling, adding that the sums involved were “particularly huge” and caused “particularly serious losses” to the interests of the state and the people. Tang was also deprived of political rights for life and had all of his personal property confiscated, CCTV said. The sentence comes as President Xi Jinping presses ahead with a sweeping anti-corruption campaign that has ensnared a string of high-ranking officials in recent weeks. The country’s anti-graft watchdog said over the weekend it had opened a probe into Wang Xiangxi, minister of emergency management — a rare case of a sitting minister falling under investigation.

Last month, China said its top general Zhang Youxia was being investigated, in the highest-profile purge to date of senior military leadership.

KUCHING, April 2 — Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said the power supply in Peninsular Malaysia has remained unaffected so far following yesterday's gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights, Selangor.

The Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister said that although some sources of power generation in Peninsular Malaysia rely on gas, the reports he has received so far indicate that the supply remains stable.

"Some of our power generation requires gas, and when a leak occurs, part of the gas is cut off and its flow is disrupted, which may affect the power supply.

"But the reports I have received so far, Alhamdulillah (the gas supply remains stable)," he told reporters at his Aidilfitri open house in Petra Jaya here today.

He added that the coming week would be critical to ensuring the stability of the power supply and that alternative measures would be put in place if gas cannot be supplied to the affected power plants.

SHAH ALAM: The High Court here granted bail at RM40,000 with two sureties to a GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISB) member, Hamimah Yakub, who is charged with being part of an organised crime group.

Judge Datuk Seri Latifah Mohd Tahar on Monday (Jan 13) said the decision considered the prosecution’s lack of objection and the fact that the applicant, as a woman, fell under the exemption category stipulated in Section 13(2)(b) of the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act (Sosma) 2012.

She noted that there was no evidence in the respondent's affidavit suggesting that the applicant posed a flight risk or would interfere with witnesses if released on bail.

"The court also considered the age of the applicant who is now 73 years old, and the submitted evidence of her health problems. Therefore, the court grants bail with conditions,” she said.

Hamimah, an accountant for GISB, is among 22 individuals detained under Sosma and accused of being members of an organised crime group at a location in Bandar Country Homes, Rawang, from October 2020 to Sept 11 last year.

I have installed film tint on the glass in my house.

of course, the tint film is usually installed on the inside.

however, i have some spare tint film (i bought a roll) and was wondering for extra protection from sun, can (should) i put another layer of tint on the outside as well for the dining windows ?

minimal rain on the outside part....

so if i put a 2nd layer outside (after inside already install 1st layer), ok ke ? cooler kan ?
