Modifications:
- Switches lubed with Krytox GPL 205g0, springs oiled with Krytox GPL 105, filmed with 3D printed THICC film
- Switch stems "band-aid" modded with thin teflon tape to reduce stem wobble (Refer to this post I made on the modification)
- Foamed plate with EVA (Hand cut, 2-layers to achieve perfect 3.5mm. This was done before the days of laser cut foams hence the extent of the doing it so)
- Espi-modded stabilizers for rattle free stabilizers(Similar to Holee mod but does not use band-aid material)
- Individually cut 0.5mm PE foam under alpha and stabilized keys (Between switch and PCB, ie. "Jelly mod")
- Foam in spacebar keycap
- EVA craft foam over PE foam in case (PCB > EVA craft Foam > PE foam > Case)
- Nylon screws to minimise ping transfer (Spare stainless steel torx screws still provided along with torx driver)

Item(s) conditions: Used, 9/10 condition.
Modifications made:
1. Lubed and tuned stabilisers (Clipped, lubed, and band-aid modded)
2. Switches within stabilised keys lubed with 205g0 and filmed with THICC switch films
3. Case had been treated, cleaned and all sticky gooey materials completely removed. (Sticky case is a common issue with this keyboard model)
4. All LEDs replaced with brand new WHITE LEDs.
5. Special 20% thinner o-rings have been installed in the alpha area keycaps to dampen the typing volume while retaining more typing feel than standard thickness o-rings.

Up for sale is a restored and refurbished Cooler Master Quick Fire Rapid-i with Cherry MX Brown switches. Keyboard case have been cleaned and free of stickiness, all LEDs have been replaced with brand new white LEDs, both which are common issues/problems with this particular model. Stabilised keys have been tuned in both the stabilisers and also the switches. The keycaps in the alpha areas all have special 20% thinner than standard o-rings to reduce typing sound with improved typing feel compared to the mushy typical thickness o-rings.

Upgrading path for gaming centric rig

Was wondering which would be a better upgrade path for a gaming centric rig. Current specs:

Processor: Intel E5200 @ 3.75GHz
RAM: 2x 2GB DDR2-800
Motherboard: G31
Graphics Card: 512MB 8800GT running at 8800GTS stock speeds

Gaming resolution: 1680 x 1050

Upgrade Path 1:
- To upgrade to an Intel i3-2100 matched with a P67 motherboard and 4GB of DDR3-1600 matched with the old 8800GT

Upgrade Path 2:
- Upgrading of the graphics card to GTX460 1GB or Radeon HD6850 w/o changing anything else, PSU is not mentioned as it's more than enough to support even the GTX590

So, guys, which would be a better upgrade path for a gaming centric rig? I would suppose it's the graphics upgrade path although am tempted towards the newer processors. Am aiming for high minimum frame rates instead of benching 3Dmark.

Not sure if I'm posting this in the right section, but anyway, my question is as the following.

Guys, I was wondering which bank(locally, but doesn't have to be local bank) have the second most commonly available ATM machines in the country? Other than Maybank though, which obviously have ATM machines placed at almost everywhere.

Common enough as in the case of most malls/complexes have their ATM machines or even petrol stations.

Guys, I was wondering if it's still worth it getting a new or used PS2 nowadays, now that the PS3 had been out for quite a while but still lingers at around RM1500 price tag(if not mistaken)

I was just thinking to grab either a PS1 or PS2 but I guess PS2 makes more sense since it could also play the PS1 games the last I checked.

The console would most probably be used for casual gaming for myself and my young cousins(around 7 years and below) so I was wonder if it's still relevant to get one. Also, what are the prices like for used or maybe new sets nowadays?

Real Fuel Saving tips, save up to 6% thru ways

Thought I would share some real life fuel saving implementations that most, if not all people can do. No, I'm not selling anything nor promoting any fuel saving devices as I, for one, know most doesn't work, unless we are talking about things that actually change A/F ratio and fuel mapping, but that's a story for another day.

Anyway, here goes on how to save fuel of at least 7%

1. Pump RON92 instead of RON97, saves 5.88% per tank(based on current fuel price of RM2.40 for RON92 and RM2.55 for RON97)

Check your car's user manual(if you still have it, no ideas why many new car owners actually junked it), check what is the minimum octane rating your car can take. This information should be listed at the end most part of the manual under "engine specifications", though it may vary depending on your car's make and model. Most newer cars bought nowadays are tuned to RON90-92, so most new cars CAN actually run "regular" petrol. There's NO LONGER ANY LEAD IN PETROL/FUEL SOLD IN MALAYSIA as it had been outlawed/illegal to sell since 1998(or was it 1999, I ain't too sure, but this isn't the main topic here, that's history). So cut the crap of saying "using old fuel", or "my new car can't run leaded petrol" and stuff like that, there is ABSOLUTELY NO SUCH THING(unless your car is tuned for above RON92, then you will HAVE TO stick with pumping RON97 petrol)!

Petrol stations that supply RON92 fuel at all stations are BHP(also known as BH Petrol), Caltex, and ExxonMobil(Mobil or Esso).

Caltex has RON92(known as Techron Silver) at every pump at most of their stations. BHP would have at least a pair of pumps that has RON92 at every station, ExxonMobil, not too sure about the statistics but they do have RON92 pumps at most stations(including Klang Valley), other petrol brands like Shell or Petronas do have RON92 fuel pumps but they are a rare sight especially in Klang Valley.

Caltex and BHP had openly announced that they have the same amount of addictives in both their RON92 and RON97 fuels so whatever fuel economy or engine cleansing formula is shared between the 2 types of petrol, so it's safe to say that you are saving money without losing any performance(that is coming from the fuel addictives in RON97 petrol).

Moreover, if your car is tuned to run on RON92 and below, you would probably have an engine with better response and also slightly better fuel economy(around 30-50km per 50 litre tank, due to better optimisation of the original tuning specs of the engine).

2. Use some form of incentive/reward card from respective fuel companies, 0.5-1.5% depending on cards

BHP
You can either use their E-Card or the Genting World Card, both has 1% rebate(although for the Genting World Card, points can also be collected from various other merchants rather than just BHP).

1% Rebate
RM5 rebate for every RM550 spent(550 points for RM5 voucher)
(RM1 = 1 point)

ExxonMobil(Mobil or Esso)
Smile(s) reward card

1-1.5% Rebate
RM5 rebate for every RM550 spent or RM15 rebate for every RM1000 spent(550 points for RM5 or 1000 points for RM15)
(RM1 = 1 point).

Petronas
You can either user Mesra card or RealRewards card. Same points-to-RM structure but RealRewards can be used at other participating merchants as well but a quick check from their website doesn't show any petrol vouchers redeemable.

0.5-0.625% Rebate
RM20(RM5 x 4) rebate for every RM3900 spent or RM30(RM10 x 3) rebate for every RM4800 spent(3900 points for 4 pieces of RM5 petrol voucher or 4800 points for 3 pieces of RM10 voucher)
(RM1 = 1 point? Someone please verify as the mesra site is kinda confusing for me).

3. Use some kind of fuel rebate credit card or debit card(% depends on cards)

For example, using Direct Access Master Card for petrol payment. The Direct Access Master Card is currently giving 2% rebate on all petrol consumption (any petrol brand), but at a maximum of RM2500 per month, meaning RM50 per card per month.

RHB's Travel Money Credit Card is currently on a Rebate for Petrol Programme, ending by year 2008(31/12/2008) whereby there's a 2% rebate, also not bonded to any petrol brand, but subjected to a maximum rebate of RM60/month. Special rebate of 5%(will not include the normal 2% rate, which means a MAXIMUM of 5% rebate) on every first weekend(Saturday and Sunday) of the month until the end of year 2008.

Other cards like UOB Plantinum Card is also giving 2% rebate but is more restrictive as it's only valid at BHP and subject to maximum consumption of RM500 monthly (if I'm not mistaken) for 2% rebate.

So in total, let's say, for my instance, i'm using BHP RON92 for my car(as it's the nearest station that provides RON92 fuel, no point purposely going to some other furthest stations as it defeats the fuel saving purpose), based on each RM1000 spent, using Direct Access Master Card to pay for fuel and Genting World Card to accumulate points, i get back a total of 5.88% + 0.91% + 2% = 8.79% which is RM87.90. which is good enough for another 36 litres of RON92 petrol, or a sumptous meal for 2, depending on how you prefer to spend it.

Hope this helps benefit to pass thru these times of increased everything, which is the side-effect of increased fuel price.

Budget Intel Dual-Core overclocking thread

Guys, wif the Celeron dual-core coming into market, i guess it's time for a "budget" corner of Intel Dual-Core overclocking. Whereby you can get processor + motherboard combo of around RM350-400 and still get 66-75% overclock over stock, for almost close to free!

This thread is solely for Celeron(Conroe-L), Celeron or Pentium Dual-Core and Intel 945GC chipset motherboard users, using on-board graphics, the budget crowd.

Let's start with myself, i've used both the E2140 and E2160 in an ASrock Conroe1333-D667 R1.0 motherboard(based on the 945GC chipset i mentioned). On the E2140, i manage to crank up a 75% overclock, jacking up the FSB from 200MHz to 350MHz before i can't go any higher, might be the Vcore as i've tried plugging in a PCI-E graphics card(so that it reduces the chance of the IGP holding back), using an IDE HDD(due to PCI lock) and am still stuck. On the E2160, it's a 66% overclock from 200MHz to 334MHz FSB.

So who else running these cheapo combos? Maybe we can start a new trend of budget Intel dual-core overclocking.

I'm in the process of updating the motherboards available locally below then RM200 price bracket and runs the Intel chipset, will update more on this first post when i get more info. Would be glad to do a review on any of the 945GC based boards if anyone is nice enough to loan me a unit other than the ASrock Conroe1333 variant.

Weird Power Supply Problem

Hi guys, i think i've somehow got myself a weird problem with the power supply of my PC.

I recently bought a used Antec TruePower 480W to replace the Enlight 420W on one of my PCs.

The specs is as following:

- Pentium 4 Northwood 2.8C HT running stock speed
- Abit IC7 non-G
- 4x 256MB DDR400 RAM
- 128MB GF4Ti4200 8x graphics card
- 1x HDD
- 1x FDD
- 1x optical drive (DVD-RAM in case it matters)
- 2x 12cm fans

Guess that's all i guess.

Well... i bought this new Antec to replace the old Enlight due to the fact the old Enlight seemed to be running fine except 1 thing, which is a pretty low +12v voltage reading, lingers around 11.5V which i think isn't too good a thing, that is with the unit running Folding@Home most of the time and it's the average reading from Motherboard Monitor. So i bought the used Antec thinking that well... it have a much stronger +12v rail, rated at 28A compared to 18A of the Enlight.

Ok.. long story short, i brought back the Antec, removed the Enlight, and plugged in the Antec. The PC started fine, fans running, lights on, but it just doens't boot into BIOS! Unplug everything, plug in the Enlight, and it works like a charm except the low 12V rating. I tried the Enermax FMAII 460W from my C2D PC, and it's the same thing, PC started fine but doesn't boot thru BIOS, everything just running and no booting.

Anyone knows what's the weird problem with this PSU + motherboard combo?

I've tried the Antec on another KT133A equpped PC and it also doesn't boot the PC, same problem as the above set. So is it a PSU problem or a motherboard problem?

Hope to get help on this ASAP as the seller is only giving me a week of warranty to try out. Thanks!
