sound not working!

hey guys need your advice. been using my lenovo laptop for nearly 2 years now and never had such an issue. after downloading the latest episode of suits i wanted to watch it but there was no sound. im using GOM player as my default. i thought there was something wrong with the file but i tried every other shows and movies i ever downloaded and there was no audio for any of it. i tried WMP and VLC as well to no avail. but audio everywhere else is working fine such as youtube, dota 2 and whatnot. this happened overnight and i dont recall doing anything out of the ordinary the night before. please advice!

thanks in advance!
