Site Survey: Portable Alarm System

Hello Guys!,

Im currently working on one portable alarm prototype for homes which are affordable by everyone.

A complete alarm system in market right now are between RM1500-RM3000 per house which average salary people might not afford to buy one for thier home security.

The idea is to provide a simple yet effective device to notify the landlord and at the same time scare away any intrusion.

The notify is just on alarm/siren beeping and red light indicator.

1 mainboard will be placed inside master bedroom which consist of lets say 3 input of alarm sensor and the sensor will be place on which ever the landlord wants.

Whenener the sensor activated, both alarm on mainboard inside master bedroom and at the sensor will be triggered,

Now, I already build the real prototype and the cost is only around <Rm300 which if mass produce will cost much more lesser. There will be wired between mainboard and sensors, not wireless.

End Cost will be around Rm150-RM200++ and the device can be attachable/portable.

What do you guys think? Would you guys buy it? Will the market demand be good?

Control multiple PC log on access from 1 mother pc

Hey guys,

Did you ever been to cybercafe and see that at the counter they can control all the PCs log on access? When u mention the pc name u wanted to use, then they will unblocked it and u can use the pc and they will charge u per hour.

Can we create similar system using Visual basic? or there is free software available out there that run the system?

USB to PS/2 converter not working after reboot

Hye guys,

Im working in CSC, and recently done refreshing bunch of computers in bank.

When changing from old pc to new pc, this new pc doesnt have a PS/2 port which need by Tricubes Sekure biometric to power up the device.

The device have two cable (one serial cable for data, another is PS/2 cable for power source).

After install the device, plug in the the serial cable to pc's serial port and the PS/2 cable to the converter..then the converter plug in to usb port.

Ive done testing and all is ok.

The problem is when I shutdown the pc, the USB to PS/2 converter does not work. I have to plug out and plug in the converter then only it works and detect the device as the device has been powered up.

It seems that the converter are not detected during boot up.

Any idea?

Apply twitter on your web...how?

Hello guys,

Do anyone of you know how to apply Twitter on your own web? I know we can use Twitter Widgets, but twitter widgets can only display your followers status, not yourself and summore if you wanted to reply on it, it brings you to twitter page.

I wanted a Twitter API that can retrieve all the followers status in a list and can reply their status at the same page, which is my own web page.

There is one application like this, but it only for desktop platform.

[WTA] small bulge(ketulan) on my left neck

Hey guys...have u heard about Friends Club? Is more like a MLM I tink...is like an investment...big investment...to join...minimum is 11K and max is 40K....when u invest let say 40K..u'll get 15 license...this license use to get member....and if u get one member...u'll get commision of 11K..crazy huh....there is no product at all in this business...its like money rotating business....

Recently, these kind of business ppl had make a seminar at Sunway Piramid convention center...

I dont know wheter my fact is right...but have u guys heard about this? my brother thinking to join this...but for me..this business kinda look like a scam..

I'm experienced with database programming and my work already implemented by radiology department, melaka general hospital.

CIMB post dated cheque....ridiculous procedure!

Hey guys,

Im having this major problem and i wonder if anyone experienced the same thing?

On 29th June I deposited a cheque dated on 1st July at the counter..not by machine....cos cimb in mmu melaka doesnt have one.....I admit i dont know anything about "post dated" cheque whereby you cannot depo an early cheque before its date.....by the way...the counter accept my post dated cheque anyway which i assume he accidentally neglected it.

After 3 days I felt sumthing gone wrong since the cheque havent cleared, I went back to cimb mmu melaka branch and ask them where is my cheque....they said they already return/send it to cimb branch where I registered the account when I was 18 yo at pandan jaya Ampang!....I call up the branch where I was registered (cimb pandan jaya) and they said they already courier it to my OLD ADDRESS....they blame me for not updating my address! WTF??...THEY SHOULD CALL ME FIRST BEFORE SEND THE CHEQUE ANYWHERE.....do people keen to update all of their applications once they shifted??

Then they said that if the courier couldnt find the owner (which is me).....the courier will send it back to branch within 13 days!...waluawei....what kind of private courier takes that kind of time....private courier some more....

Im staying in melaka right now and waiting for the cheque to be send back to registered branch...hopefully there will be nothing happen to the cheque....

Eventhough I accidentally depo a post dated cheque....

1) they should call me first before sending it out to other state

2) they shouldnt accept my cheque at counter at the first place if the cheque is a post dated cheque

the cheque is from my customer.....amount of RM6,380.....cross cheque with my name on it...

what should i do?

1) Wait until cimb bank call me......
2) Ask customer to cancel previous cheque and issue the new one......

ridiculous procedure by cimb.....waste time.....why not just keep the cheque where I depo it at the first place?.......God help me.....

Problems with dopod 838pro

Hey guys,

I just bought a Dopod 838pro in 2nd hand condition from sevenhong (lowayt id). I facing with some kinda battery problem. Sometimes i can switch it on and sometimes i couldnt turn it on and the battery went hot plus the screen came out with many red lines.

I just send an email to a company that do maintenance for pda that is SiS distribution Hq in shah alam.

What do u guys think of my problem? does re-format will bring solution?

and i try msg back the seller, he didnt reply..........

Summary
1) phone sometimes can switch on, sometimes cannot
2) if cannot switch on, the battery damn hot and the screen display red lines
otherwise the program runs ok if i manage to turn it on.

How to build your own PC server?

hey guys...

I have two questions to ask....

1) What is the hardware requirement to set up a Pc server for SMALL department that could operate/ON for 24/7 non
stop ? It just for a small department that stores mostly files of words/reports etc. If someone already have
experience/knowledge about this, can u list down the requirement? thanks

2) How to setup local connection? (silly question i know) I only knew about LAN network configuration from my
streamyx connection/cabling....but i dont know how to setup from scratch? What hardware do i need? (switch,hub...etc). Local connection so that several pc could interact each other within department only.

download manager -could not download anything..

hey...ive just get my streamyx plug in..and i try using download manager such as lime wire and kazaa... the searching is ok but the prob is....the dunload doesnt start at all and it return " need more sources"....my firewall already make it as exception....please help me....
