Football Focus are delighted to announce that Masters Football is coming back to Malaysia this March 13th at Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil.

Following on from our previous two tournaments, firstly held at Malawati Stadium in Shah Alam in December 2008 and then in Stadium Putra in late 2009, the latest tournament promises to be much bigger and much better than ever before!

This year we will be featuring old favourites, Manchester United, Liverpool and the EPL All-Stars, but joining them for the first time will be the Malaysian Masters, featuring some of the best local legends over recent years!

Some of the Star players that we are looking to have at the tournament this year include some of the real greats, such as Dwight Yorke, Andy Cole, Jaap Stam and Ronnie Jonhsen from Manchester United; Ian Rush, Steve McManaman, Robbie Fowler and Patrick Berger from Liverpool and for the EPL All Stars, players such as Gianfranco Zola, Paolo Di Canio and David Seaman.

The tournament will be held on March 13th and an all day Football carnival will start from 12 Noon. With Manchester United and Liverpool having won the tournament once each previously, there will be a real battle this year for the trophy, so come down to Bukit Jalil and support your team! Original Price RM 33 per ticket, inclusive of an RM 3 ticketing charge.

Plucking
Instruments such as the guitar, oud, sitar, banjo and harp are plucked, either by a finger or thumb, or by some type of plectrum. This category includes the keyboard instrument the harpsichord, which formerly used feather quills (now plastic plectra) to pluck the strings.

Bowing
Bowed string instruments include the violin, viola, cello (of the violin family) and the double bass (of the viol family). The bow consists of a stick with many hairs stretched between its ends. Bowing the instrument's string causes a stick-slip phenomenon to occur, which makes the string vibrate.
Other bowed instruments are the hardingfele, nyckelharpa, kokyū, rebec, erhu, igil, kamanche, and sarangi. The hurdy gurdy is bowed by a wheel.

Striking
The third common method of sound production in stringed instruments is to strike the string with a hammer. By far the most well-known instrument to use this method is the piano, where the hammers are controlled by a mechanical action; another example is the hammered dulcimer, where the player holds the hammers.
A variant of the hammering method is found in the clavichord: a brass tangent touches the string and presses it to a hard surface, inducing vibration. This method of sound production yields a soft sound. The maneuver can also be executed with a finger on plucked and bowed instruments; guitarists refer to this technique as "hammering-on". Violon-family string instruments are also occasionally instructed to strike the string with the side of the bow, a technique called col legno. This yields a percussive sound along with the pitch of the note. A well-known use of col legno for orchestral strings is the Gustav Holst's "Mars" movement from The Planets suite.

Other methods
The aeolian harp employs a very unusual method of sound production: the strings are excited by the movement of the air.
Some string instruments have keyboards attached which are manipulated by the player, meaning they do not have to pay attention to the strings directly. The most familiar example is the piano, where the keys control the felt hammers by means of a complex mechanical action. Other string instruments with a keyboard include the clavichord (where the strings are struck by tangents), and the harpsichord (where the strings are plucked by tiny plectra).
With these keyboard instruments too, the strings are occasionally plucked or bowed by hand. Composers such as Henry Cowell wrote music which asks for the player to reach inside the piano and pluck the strings directly, or to "bow" them with bow hair wrapped around the strings, or play them by rolling the bell of a brass instrument such as a trombone on the array of strings.
Other keyed string instruments, small enough to be held by a strolling player, include the plucked autoharp, the bowed nyckelharpa, and the hurdy gurdy, which is played by cranking a rosined wheel.
Steel-stringed instruments can be played using a magnetic field. An E-Bow is small hand-held battery-powered device which can be used to excite the strings of an electric guitar. It provides a sustained, singing tone on the string which is magnetically-vibrated.

I came across this article and forum about something gross misconduct that happened in malaysia recently.The poor thing had to suffer all this just because some indonesians are taught with wrong teachings of the law and drove by their savageness madnes to do this to 1 poor lonely non attacking dog.

Pls do not blame any races or religion for the pain....i too feel the same when i look at the pictures.What we need to do is to spread the love for pets and to clear misunderstanding on dogs and religious beliefs..After all they are all lovingly made in God's hand and God's instruction was to love and take care all the animals.

Video editing

I've got this video file in DV VIDEO DECORDER format avi. I used adobe premier and windows movie maker but it refused to import the files. error is :
The file C:\wed.avi cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

what i did was; i used winavi convert program to convert the file into wmw but the output was video and no sound.so i used virtualdub to extract the wav file.It worked.and all those files can be played on windows media player however the wav file cannot be import into the video editing software.im gone bonkers about it...anyone got any suggestion to slove the problem?

The long dark tunnel after life

I thought I would like to share with u guys...something some people had been asking over the ages what happens to pets after they had passed on? Perhaps this may be comforting news for some....first of all let me introduce my family pet. we have 2 dogs, 1 named Sheba,6months female shih Tzu and the other was Solomon 2 months, make shih Tzu. We only had poor Solomon for 2 weeks until last Sunday. In the afternoon. I saw Sheba at the edge of our pond. All wet and drench; my sister scolded her for playing at the edge of the pond. Usually she would go at the side to drink.

Then my sis noticed the small pup is missing and called for him. We look around and noticed that the back door is open ajar. Fearing for the worst that someone had stolen him. we look around the whole neighbourhood. but sadly nothing came out of it. so we all went home and ate our dinner. Miserable and hoping for the best that someone had found Solomon would give him back to us once we had put our posters up.

While eating dinner; suddenly i noticed the pup he was there pacing up and down near the glass door wanting to go in. my sister broke the silent and asked me what i was looking at. but i kept quiet when i noticed Solomon had disappeared. I've got a bad feeling that he had passed on but i didn't dare to tell my family members. late in the evening, my maid saw something in the pond. a newspaper. So she went in and scoped it out only to her horror to find out that it was Solomon himself! drown. Poor fellow. We then buried it under a tree in our garden. It all then makes sense. Sheba who saw the whole ordeal was actually afraid of going into the pond to save him earlier in the day. Before we place him into the ground we let her take a final look at him. she was quiet the whole evening. Sensing her best friend has passed on.

What happens to a pet soul after they had passed on; one can speculate....i believe it still lingers on for awhile...somewhere near us. We can only hope it will move on as i hope my sisters will do so

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to bring into public awareness a terrible case of animal cruelty. A nine-year-old cat, who was only slightly ill, was admitted into a government animal clinic in Malaysia. She came out dead just days later. The cause of death: sheer neglect. The animal was locked up in a small cage and not given ANY food or water during her stay there. If you feel strongly about this, then please lend your voice to the petition and help spread the word. Only your name (and your IC number if you're Malaysian) is all I request for. Once I get a significant-enough number signatures, I'll be printing it all out and posting it to the Malaysian Department of Veterinary Services as well as the major papers.
