New company have no solid SOP

Hi all, I joined a company in March (my 2nd job), joining from a big MNC to a medium-sized engineering company.

The stark difference is that this company has no solid SOP. This includes no black and white for jobscope, KPI, work procedures, etc.
Coming from MNC, I was rather familiar with all the SOP and guidelines already in place. Just focus on the work and performance.
The management is counting on the employees to develop all this towards compliance of ISO.

I am just wondering is this worth my time and effort to be part of the team to establish all this ground work.
To be honest my main drive is to acquire as much technical and project management knowledge for my personal development.

Appreciate point of view of others on this matter.
Thank you.

Technician Level Training

Graduated with Mech. Eng. Degree.

Worked 3 yrs as Product Design of electrical products. Low voltage devices, now more & more electronic components integrated.

Looking to expand knowledge on E&E, for job futureproofing purpose.

Question is; should I consider some of the technician level training? Those wireman, chargeman etc provided by cidb/giatmara etc?

Or should I go full academic and enrol in E&E diploma part time or something like that.

Anyone done this to the benefit of their careers please do share some insight.

Thank you in advance..

Aperture Mechanism to supply force in compression

Hello I am now working on a project to improve a crimping tool primarily used to connect polybutene pipes to brass-copper fittings, the crimp action being deformation of the copper sleeve to fully accentuate the pipe.

As I was browsing patents looking for inspiration, I came across an idea: Aperture mechanism.
Aperture Mechanism

Is it possible to accommodate such a mechanism for a handheld tool to supply force in compression. It looks promising at first because if I am able to design it, then it can be used to crimp pipes of various sizes.

Any thoughts and comments?
Anyone who regularly use CRIMP tool

Hello. I got my FYP on improving the design of the current crimping tool. I have to do force analysis: how much force does it take to crimp, redesign(if needed) the tool for better comfort and handling, reduction of weight, etc. But at the end of the day would be to reduce the manufacturing cost primarily through improving the manufacturing and assembling process.

Honestly I have NEVER used a crimp tool before therefore I need some guidance as I am a total noob here. What are the improvements regular users want? What are the things that make it work so well? Also are there many varieties sold at hardware shops(where?) so that I can survey those as well?

Thanks in advance.
