[HDD Problem]

Story: After installing a game, I noticed that my hdd was having a problem with slow read (>1000ms) and windows boot time was increased from <1 min to >3 min. The culprit was that game was using a 17gig pak file to read all of its game ress (textures/audio/etc). Reinstalled the game to my SDD but my hdd nearly died

What I did:
-scandisk; still problem
-delete any unnecessary stuff; still problem
-full format; still problem
-remember its chkdsk, not scandisk..... boot ok, hdd still problem

Current Status
This is the SMART status of the HDD (after 10 chkdsk):

C5 was at 198 at 1st chkdsk run, after every run, the number is going down
As a comparison, this is what an no-problem HDD looks like:

After running chkdsk for the 10th time, (each run took ~3 hours)

It kept finding bad sectors, not a lot but its starting to pile up.

My boot time is back to normal after the 1st chkdsk but my hdd T_T

Help?
So, you guys got any idea to salvage/save this hdd or is it doomed?

Yes, yes, b4 anyone mentioned it, price of 1 TB HDD is cheap already but I try to waste not, want not.

Forum need an upgrade

We are already in 2020, not 2008. I know this forum was based an old board system but its time to upgrade it. 2 function that have been an annoyance for some time:

1. Search function sucks.

If I search for "Cyberpunk" in gamers hideout, the search result will include everything including stuff not related/in the search phrase O_o
Please update the codes.

2. New unread post in thread.

Whenever I see a thread getting a new post and clicked the link, instead of showing me the new post, the forum will show me the middle of the thread or sometime the 1st post. Please update the code. Other forums already have this function.

-This is from viewing from the main page of the forum. If its in the sub-thread, you can straightaway click on the last page.
- more prevalent with thread with multiple pages.
