HDD switcher! Expert come in pls

I have 1 SSD and 3 internal HDD in my rig (one was a gift and one is from old laptop)

So now I have 2 unused hdd mounted into my rig, both used as backup only.
I come across hdd switcher which basically able to off and on the hdd.

Will it be a good idea to buy the switcher or it is bad for hdd?

Just want to ask if there are any simple way to check the main problem if got BSOD...

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

but if i didnt plug in charger and use battery only never got BSOD...
