“Keluarga kami walaupun pada detik paling sukar ini, bersetuju dengan dasar kerajaan Kanada untuk tidak membayar wang tebusan,” kata keluarga Hall dalam satu kenyataan.

“Kami menyokong nilai-nilai yang membina negara ini, kekuatan peribadi, semangat tabah dan tidak tunduk kepada permintaan pihak berdebah (penculik).” tambah mereka.

Hall bersama tiga individu lain dilaporkan diculik dari sebuah resort di Pulau Samal, ratusan kilometer ke timur Pulau Jolo.

Sebelum ini, seorang lagi warga Kanada yang diculik, John Ridsdel juga dibunuh kumpulan sama pada April lalu. Difahamkan, kumpulan Abu Sayyaf masih menahan masing-masing seorang tebusan warga Norway dan Filipina. – Reuters
