hi,

there's a question has been messing with my head lately

why most laptops can only support up to 8GB of ram; even though their OS and processor can support more than 8GB ?

for instance: HP Pavilion Dm4-3001TX is running windows 7 Home Premium x64 and has the i5-2450M processor and it can support up to 16GB of ram.. meanwhile: ASUS A43Sm-VX102v has the same OS and processor, but can only support up to 8GB of ram !!

so why is that? even though W7HP x64 and i5-2450M can both support up to 16GB of ram
