Econs & business vs Banking & finance degree

Can anyone give me opinions on these two degrees? Economics and business, and Banking and Finance. The module listings seem pretty similar.

Is it possible to study ACCA and Pursue a degree in economics at the same time? and how long does it take to complete ACCA? seems like such an impossible task

sorry if the topic isn't too appropriate for this sub forum but I'd really like to acquire the opinions of workers. I am currently looking for an internship, I've just graduated from my Alevels and I've noticed there aren't many opportunities for graduates holding economics degrees. Correct me if I am wrong, most companies look for accounting and finance students/IT degree holders/human resource majors. I was wondering, if I pursue a degree in bsc of Economics and business management will my prospects be lowered?

Hi I'm sorry for starting a new thread but I really need to highlight this topic as I have to confirm my college choice by the end of this week ><

HELP students taking A-levels or if you know anything about it, if you may, please answer these few questions?

1. How do you find your lecturers? Do they MIA alot?! Do you understand what they're teaching?
2. I understand help has a lecture/tutor system where you study in halls and in class rooms, how does that work and how does that work for you?
3. What's the student body population? Are there a lot of dedicated students?
4. How do you find your module based examinations and course work examination results? Do you think that it is slightly easier to score?
5. Are your lecturers willing to help after class? Do they have time for your enquiries?

Pre-U dilemma

Hi guys,

I'm finishing my SPM this Tuesday with EST still to come and I've already been looking at a few colleges. My only option now is TAYLORS A-level or HELP A-levels. I want to do commerce but the question is whether I should take up Law or Business Studies as my forth subject.

Today I went to Taylors Subang Jaya to see what they had to offer. The environment is great, the standard of the teachers would definitely be up to par but their A-levels cost 40k ..... that's 10k more than when my sister was studying there. It scared the lights outa me

My biggest problem right now is my financial state. My parents are not well off, or rather I'd say they could fork out the money for me to study gladly but it'd add to their already heavy load which is something that pains my heart immensely. (Thinking about all my rich classmates who complain endlessly about having to go overseas or stay to study in malaysia just ticks me off.)

I'm not stupid, I'm a A-/A student, but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to meet the requirements of Taylor's scholarship (very kiamsiap one) 6A= 2k maybe can la. Whereas HELP offers a scholarship of 6k for even 5As. But I live in Bukit Jalil so the travelling cost would eventually cover HELP's scholarship aid.

So to level it up

Taylors Subang Jaya
Pros - Near my house, Good environment, Good lecturers
Cons - EXPENSIVE, 100% exam based results

Help
Pros - Not that expensive la, Results based on course work and partial exam, Studies split into two modules (each semester 2 subjects which i guess is more focused and slightly easier to handle)
Cons - Very far from my house, Bad environment, average lecturers

I'm visiting HELP next Wednesday to see what it's like though from what I hear ofcourse the standards would be lower. After all you get what you pay for. Though I'd really like to explore all my choices and see what I can do to lighten my parent's load so I decided to write here to get advice from more experienced students, please do offer your opinions

P.S. Any idea on PTPTN loans and Scholarships? Plus did anyone notice the PTPTN website is frozen? haha Thank you

Hi respected seniors of the education world

I am a student sitting for my SPM this year and this would be my first time applying for scholarships. As a newbie I'm pretty much clueless about how things like this work and although I've checked out a few scholarships it seems like I'm uneligible for alot of them (or am I wrong). So I was hoping that you guys could help me out abit on some of these problems

1. I heard that I had to apply for scholarships to do college/foundations right now because they usually pass very soon but since we have yet to even sit for our SPM trials, it seems unlikely that the scholarships that I'm looking for are even open yet. Am I right or wrong? Are scholarships for college usually open during the second half of the year after our SPM trials because what other results are we suppose to send in with our applications right?

2. Are there any available scholarships that I can apply for to do my college, foundation locally or overseas right now and if no why not?

3. I'm rather afraid I'm ill qualified for scholarships as I don't usually join competitions, though I held the lead role for my school's annual school play/concert last year, how do I put that in my resume? And should I join charity runs/events? Will it help boost up my CV?
