Dell Latitude D510 Wont Boot With 1GB RAM

I got a Dell latitude D510.

I bought a Kingston Value RAM 1GB DDR2 533MHz

After I installed the new RAM, my Dell latitude never boot up.

I took out the RAM, everything back to normal.

Any idea? Based on spec, D510 supports up to 2GB DDR2 RAM 533MHz

How To Boot Linux from Network

Suppose that my pc has no hard disk, no CDROM and i have no USB pen drive, the only way to boot my pc is via 'Boot from network' method. Can someone explain to me ho to do this using Linux OS?

P4 Notebooks Became Too Hot and Turn Off

I got a P4 notebook, uses P4 2.4Ghz CPU.

The problem is that the notebook went boiling hot and turn off itself less than 1 minutes after i turn on. What the problem? How to repair it?

Puppy Linux: The Best Ever Light Weight Linux

I am already tested more than 5 types of Linux OS but found most of them are too much for an idiot like me. One day, my hard disk went into trouble. The harddisk was totally dead. Without hard disk, my notebook turned onto a thin client. Gosh........how to recover my notebook? I was too lazy to go to Low Yat Plaza to get a 40GB notebook hard disk for RM190. The easiest way is to use Live CD Linux which can boot from CD and run totally on RAM without having any hard drive or swap file on hard disk. So using my desktop, i downloaded Puppy Linux and burnt it on CD.

Guess what, this tiny Puppy Linux (70MB size of ISO) boot and able to detect all my standard hardware without any trouble !!!! It is totally run on my notebook's RAM (256MB). Best of all, to set auto DHCP for LAN is extremely easy and within a minute, i am able to hook to the Internet flawlessly. Plus, this Puppy Linux is extremely fast (even if you put 1GB RAM on Pentium D you still cannot make faster than Puppy Linux).

I am able to create and edit Microsoft Word using Abiword. If you need additional software to run on Puppy Linux, just use its package wizard.

The best part, Puppy Linux is able to access Windows partition (FAT32/NTFS). Not only that, Puppy Linux also can read and write Windows partition. No need to learn advance Linux books. I am totally Linux idiot but i have no problem to use Puppy Linux.
