How prevent knee break on leg press

So this happened:
https://www.facebook.com/faizan.ahmad.54/po...438730872866485

Any idea how to prevent this? Should we never lock out on leg press once the poundage get serious?
I'm aware he's using weights that he can't handle and doing quarter reps, but I feel it can happen also on full ROM once you are strong enough.

Banged someone's car. My fault

Hello,

Today morning while coming out from parking I slightly collided against someone's car coming on the road from behind because he was at my blind spot (I only see side mirror never turn my whole body look behind).

Nothing serious, his car side door rubbed against my car front headlights there (my headlights are fine). His door got abit dent, my car front got abit dent. Mostly both car paint came off at hit areas.
Repair cost for both probably RM 700~800 I think.

Now I'm confused should I claim insurance? I am CDL. And my car only 1 year+, means insurance only bought last year, so NDL not much. However only thing is if I do police report must pay RM 300 fine since I am wrong.=, and lose NDL. And since it's my fault, can I claim insurance for damages on my car too?

I'm confused better police report + pay RM 300 fine + claim insurance or I just settle at workshop RM 800 for both cars?

DIY Home Wooden Power Rack

Watched this yesterday, really interesting. I find it very doable provided you have those machine cutting tools. Probably could easily hold 200kg (more than you ever need for all lifts except deadlifts).

What do you guys think? I wonder the cost for the wood & braces here in Malaysia. Or does the cost of the materials will come almost equivalent to a used power rack?

Strangers giving dumb advice

Ok, you guys know who I am, I know my stuff but I'm not so good at being sweet haha.

So basically I wear a t-shirt to the gym, I'm lean, 5.8inch bony wrist, 10/10 time it looks like it's my first day in the gym.

The gym I work out at is like the most sesat place ever. Basically you will see some super fat guys (85kg~95kg ish) who think they are damn "buff" but their max bench is 75kg ... Then there's these guys who max bench like 110 Kg, at(or pass) genetic limit, been training for few years, but they ARE ALL on steroids (they talk openly bout it's use) . Alot of people also wear lifting belts for 60~70kg squats in the smith machine.

So I often get approached and given dumb fuck advice. The gym owner (steroid user, 85kg, 13%~ bf) ask me to take mass gainers to have some "isi" before doing weights. I told him I'm on a surplus, and he's like if you eat food 80% will be fat gains, while if u bulk with mass gainers 80% will be muscle gains . Everyone also thinks I'm mental for doing a full body program since "bro splits" are the way to go. But all this is fine, I just say ok smile and like do the "i will consider it" face and say "thank you bro for the advise" .

The problem, sometimes there's these guys who will sibuk "correct" my form. Like for example, I use a thumb around grip while benching, and this guy actually interrupted me 2 times by coming and touching my hand to show me to use a suicide grip, it screwed my rest time and the set. Sometimes I'm bicep curling/incline pressing and a guy will go help me complete my last rep since I struggle abit, and this screws my progress tracking again . There was also once this old uncle (he's abit muscular 20% bodyfat, so he thinks he's the shit) who came and start putting some lifting belt around my waist while I was doing deadlifts (with 60kg only) saying I MUST ALWAYS wear it for safety.

I only can think of 3 solutions so far:
1. Lift with shirt off, no one will advise/interrupt me then cause it's clearly visible I'm trained and probably know my shit - But this is quite show off and sweat dirties the bench.
2. Wear a shirt with big bold red text, "I don't take Advise" - But this is very arrogant.
3. Tell them right in the eye "Please don't disturb me" - Firm but still quite aggressive.

I'm not good at this lar guys, so how do you like politely but firmly turn down people, and in a way they won't disturb you ever again?

Recommend good orto/chiropractor in KL

Hello,

My problem:
Briefly, 3 months ago i did Romanian Deadlift (RDL) for the first time, no pain perfect form all good. But once I put the bar down, my right side of my ass had super sharp sciatic nerve pain and I could not walk properly for 3 weeks after that. After 60+ days it was fine and now 85 days has passed and I'm fully pain free.

However I tried doing RDL again and this same pain/pinching is coming back. At first I suspected a pull/tear, but now I realized this is more like some nerve impingement in my right ass since it only takes 60 days for tears to heal. It flares up all the time for 3 days after I do RDL and then goes away.

Recommend orto/chiropractor
Firstly I am not sure if I should see an orthopedic or chiropractor. Secondly could you guys who have experience please recommend me a good one who is affordable and knows his stuff, and committed to fixing the problem.
I ask this because I once see a dermatologist for my acne who really abused my cash by making me buy endless antibiotics and visiting her multiple times so she can maximize profit. Bad experience.
I live in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

Is my Modenas MR1 fine or defective?

Hello,

Recently bought a new Modenas MR1.

The "timing" was very high went i bought it. It goes like bop.bop.bop.bop.bop.bop + very strong kick from 1st gear + high oil consumption (compared to honda).

So I adjusted the "timing" thus reducing it. Now it's like bop....bop....bop....bop and the kick from 1st gear is just nice. I like it this way.

However, with the reduced timing it will directly turn off in 5 seconds after starting from cold. This happens a few times and I have to warm up the bike for 3~4 minutes starting it repeatedly before I can drive it without it turning off. Secondly, with this low timing, if I try to maintain the bike's position on a small steep by pressing the oil it will suddenly turn off after 2~3 tries even while fully hot.

Is this "timing" problem normal with MR1? Does it have to run on high timing?

Sciatica pain on right side

This happens after I preform any hip hinge exercise such as SLD or Bent Over Rows.

After the set, I will feel irritating tingling numbingly pain on my right lower back and glutes. The pain feels mostly (90%) in my upper side of my right glutes.

It's most severe after the set, and will completely heal in 4 days. When I SLD again, it will happen again, and go away completely after 4 days.

This symptoms are exactly like Sciatica. I did the leg raise test but results were negative. I can lean forward and backward without any pain.

Preforming stretches for the glutes, hamstrings and low back really gives some immediate relieve. I have very poor hamstring flexibility (this is why I SLD).

Injury History
2.5 years ago, when I first go gym for fun, I preformed a 1RM deadlift with 50kg with bad form. Had very sharp pain shoot up my back when I did it. But nothing serious, was fine after 3 days. Stupid f*** me.

1 year ago, when I preformed a pendly row for the first time, with 30kg, my back kindda titled and sprained abit. Was completely fine in 2 days.

Solution?
Complete rest like 3 months rest is useless, because as soon as I preform a RDL/SLD this exact pain will happen again.

My only solution so far is this stretching routine.
http://www.fitnessblender.com/blog/stretch...s-and-stretches

I don't think I have a disk herniation. I feel it's Piriformis syndrome since most of the pain is in my right ass (pain in the ass lol) and happens after SLD. Other than this, what else can I do to solve this issue?

Anyone with experience please chime in. Recommendation of any affordable good chiropractor will be appreciated too.

Bench Form Check

http://youtu.be/WHk2sQTqYTM

Today was Day 5 at the gym. As you see my form... sucks.

Things which I'm aware to improve:
1. A better tighter arch
2. Unrack the bar more properly with the lats lol

Now the problem is as you see my elbows go down too far below the bench, and my wrist also caving in abit edy, shud be inline with elbow actually. Only thing I can think of is take a wider grip by putting my middle finger on the ring, currently pinky on ring. I touch the bar below nipple, near ending of ribcage.

Is there anything else to fix? Feels like my arms are tooooo long.
