Repairing crack or peeling paint

After the wallpaper removal, there are loads of severe paint crack/peeling on the wall (1mm depth or more). Since a bit out of budget to pay few thousand bucks for painting, stressful in working life & etc, decide to take a bit of time to repair it ala DIY style with reference to this web http://csalexis.hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Re...fore-Repainting

1) Cheapscake old skool trowel
2) Plaster compound (made from powder form)
3) 400 Sand paper x 2

Step 1. Removing the cracked/peeled paint from the surface. (but do not over do it, otherwise need to patch big area)

Step 2. Prepare some plaster compound from powder form. RM 18 per bag from hardware shop.

Step 3. Apply the compound on the affected area and iron out the excess. Let it set for about 1 hr, once it is fully cured it will turn from grey to white colour.

Step 4. Use Sand paper to smooth the plaster layer. Touch the surface to ensure it is smooth & flat.

The drills:

A) You can apply a more precise volume of plaster to cover the area, but it will take a lot of time to achieve very close proximation.

B) Alternatively, apply a slightly thicker plaster layer, and sand it later to obtain good flatness. It will waste more material, but save more time. I choose this method to save time.

In a nutshell, it is like applying make-up for the lady, so i presume ♀ will perform better in this task

Wallpaper

Recently bought an 2nd double storey terrace full with wallpaper. Total floor space = Living + Kitchen hall about 1100SF

To remove wallpaper on 6 walls, 2 main contractor quoted RM 3,000 & RM 1,000 respectively. When asked, the main contractor say they are going to spray water on the wall to "wash".

So i decided to look for DIY option on net. Most suggest to buy special wallpaper scoring tool, cloth softener, vinegar and etc.

Since most local hardware shop does not carry the wallpaper scoring tool, i decided to DIY using roller brush + plain water.

Step 1. Remove the plastic outer layer of wallpaper. (mine is PVC wallpaper laminate with paper)

Step 2. Once the plastic printed layer is removed leaving the brown colour paper, apply plain water using roller brush.

Step 3. After 5 minutes, use your hand to tear off the paper carefully. Do you best to get a clean peel.

Note:

1) Since the plastic layer is not porous, you need to remove it first before applying water to wet the inner paper layer.
2) My wallpaper is 1 Foot width (approx 300mm).
3) Normally in 1 cycle, i will peel off plastic layer x 5, then proceed to apply water x 5, last step peel the paper x 5
4) In aggregate, i spend 5 minutes on each wallpaper.
5) Within 2 hours, manage to remove 28 pcs of wallpaper (size 1Ft x 8 Ft)
6) This is done with seorang buruh kasar, if you start with 2 or more, within 1-2 hours can get the job done with ease.

-End of report-

Hypothetically, presuming that you are short of 10 transaction to entitle for 20% rebate, what is the fastest & economical way to knock down the 10?

Previously Cheras toll nearby Batu 9 is quite ideal, 50 cents per toll and taking one loop (passing 2 tolls, u turn @ Balakong interchange) can be easily done within 4-5 minutes depending on traffic light. But unfortunately now they dismantle one toll booth (KL direction) and the amount of time required double and also the cost of doing it.

=============================================================================

Objectively speaking, this should be the most viable route:

Sg Buloh - Sg Buloh Hospital - RM 0.70

North bound > Sg Buloh Hospital - Min 2:44minute (4km)

South bound > Sg Buloh - Min 3:12minute (4km)

Ceteris paribus (holding other factors at constant), 10 transactions require ~30minutes, fuel < RM 5 (80kmh @ Ram, 110kmh @ highway)

Timing recorded using auto transmission with moderate understeer; could further cut short by more aggressive driving - 10 ~ 15secs.

Can be friends after being romantically rejected?

Could you be friends with someone who rejected you romantically? but still thought you were a nice person and would like to retain you as friend. I've always found that this is intertwined, when you being rejected by someone romantically it is as if you are not good enough for them and it is personal, under such circumstances is there still a point to be even friends?... what say you?

In another survey, almost 65% people choose not to. What about here.
