Drained car battery overnight.

Hi guys, my car is about 5 months old(proton persona 2019). I accidentally left the lights on the whole night while i went for my shift(total about 16 hours) and when I came back to it in the morning it was completely dead. So i called up proton and they arranged for a guy to jump start the car for me, to which he did and it failed to start the engine(radio and other electronics went back on though just x cukup to start the engine). So had to tow the car to proton, they slow charged it till full and now it's running like normal.

My question is, will this affect the battery's lifespan? If so, being it's the first time and it's a 5-month old battery, how bad is the damage i'm looking at? Any long term issues i should anticipate? maaf newb question

Waxing vs Cheap Coating

Hey guys, I just received my new 2019 persona yesterday and so I went to a nearby car wash/saloon to ask them for the price of waxing, they told me RM100 for my persona but the boss advised me to straight put coating terus coz still new car, the reason i don't want to coat and opt for waxing is of course due to the price difference(few k for coating usually), but the coating they use is china brand called GoXuan which i've never heard before(yes i'm skeptical bout this whole thing too that's why i'm posting this ) which is only RM280 including the labour fee, and the leftover product i can bring home next time can pakai again.

They say if I wan 3M those they got network oso but of course price will be in 4 figures. They claim this GoXuan although not as tahan as those more legit brands but still can tahan 1 year no prob if rajin apply the detailer at home once a month like that they sendiri oso got use bla bla bla. My dillemma is, if i wax for rm100, I'm gonna have to come back to wax again every few months, why not ambik je terus the cheap coating that lasts longer and will have leftover to use next time oso(provided i still want to use it next time la).

I know you guys will say why not just buy good brand wax a low price and wax myself... and the answer is I'm currently a houseman and i simply don't have the extra time and sanity to waste my off-day slowly wax my car, so I'm definitely getting it done outside. My main goal is to protect the paint quality of my new car.

So, anyone ever have experience with these cheap coating brands and are they ever worth it?

Can anyone explain what's bad about 4AT?

Hi sifus, it's not a sarcastic rhetorical question, I've been driving a manual since, well since forever I guess and sometimes will get to drive a 4AT(axia) whenever drive gf's car but I've never driven a 6-speed, 8-speed, or whatever higher speed AT before so the 4AT is kinda like my only reference point for the automatic transmission. I see people be hating on 4AT saying it's ancient tech, but what is it exactly that people hate about it? Bad shifting logic? I can't really tell because the axia is an underpowered car anyway so whatever negative performance it gives me I just attribute it to the low hp & torque.

I don't have any incentive to defend/attack 4AT btw, really just curious. Come come explain away sifus.

Edit: also driven the 4AT 3rd gen Myvi too and that felt a little poorly-responsive to me too but people be saying it's tuned that way for fuel consumption so once again I don't know how to judge the 4AT.

New Proton Persona vs Used Mazda 2 Skyactive-G

Hi, looking to buy a car with a budget of <RM70k

I'm 25 y/o & not planning on getting a family any time soon so cabin and boot space are of probably the lowest priority for me(The reason it's Persona and not Iriz in the comparison is cuz i hate Iriz's exterior design from the first look, dealbreaker.). I've previously decided on the new myvi 1.5L just because it's fc is better and no doubt resale value will be better down the road, but can't duduk tenang cuz I feel at the end of the day, fun-of-driving is quite important for me and honestly the new myvi 1.5L just drives like a more power-filled version of the Axia.

That's why I'm looking at the new Proton Persona(2019 Facelifted ver.) and also considering a used Mid-Spec Mazda 2 Skyactive-G with reasonably low mileage. I'm mostly just looking for a car that's driver oriented aka fun-to-drive. I don't need to fetch a lot of ppl paling paling fetch gf only.

I'm gonna spend some time to test drive both of these cars when I do have time to spare but for now, wanna ask all sifus in LYN what's your experience/opinion when comparing the fun-to-drive factor when comparing these 2 cars. I know I'm probably gonna have to prepare to topup 15k for the used mazda 2 but I'm willing to if the driving experience differs a lot.

car noob here, just looking for advice don bash me ya

Where to buy Orient Esteem II

Hi I'm looking for the Orient Esteem II Open Heart Semi Skeleton Watch, the white one to be exact(picture below). Model FAG02005W0

I'm having trouble finding where to buy it in Malaysia. The only place I see selling it is on Dutyfreeislandshop.com that's based in HK and I'd rather not have it shipped that far and long. Anyone know any website that sells it based in Malaysia?

I live in Kota Kinabalu and if anyone happens by chance to know a store that sells it here I wouldn't mind checking it out too. Thanks

Hi guys, I'm kinda new to watches and I've gotten to know the SNKL23 from youtube reviews and I've decided it's probably a good entry watch for me. Thing is, I'm not quite sure where I could get a good(& trustable) deal for one of them. Buying online I could probably get a better deal(& quicker) than going model-hunting by leg in stores. I'm just not quite sure where to look.

Hey guys I'm new to the whole sneakers thing I don't even have 1 proper pair of casual sneakers. In short sneaker-game really weak.

I'm lookin for something I can use for travel or just something I can walk a good amount of time in. Comfort is a high priority. Then again, looks probably takes the higher priority since I don't own a pair yet(I only have sports shoes). I need something that looks nice and is versatile at the same time.

Budget is around 300-400.

Please help this sneaker-less soul out.

Elephone S8? Anyone?

Hi I'm looking for a new smartphone with the budget of around 1-1.2k

Found the Elephone S8 via good reviews from popular tech youtubers. My concern is that it's not that well known of a brand here in malaysia(or probably anywhere yet for that matter) so I wanna ask if there's anyone who's bought and used the Elephone S8 or any of their smartphones in malaysia(i'm planning to buy from gearbest.com) bout how's life after the purchase. And would you guys recommend going for it. Thanks.

Powerlifting Friendly Gym in Kota Kinabalu Area

Hey guys, I've been in training in Kelantan(studying here) for a couple of years now and I'm gonna go back to Kota Kinabalu(I live here) after I graduate. So I'm kinda looking for a decent gym to call home once I get back.

I'm not really looking for something commercial. "Premium" or "Comfort" aren't in the criteria. Not a fan of gyms that invest heavily on fancy machines and cardio equipment and don't even have a squat rack. I'm not a bodybuilder, I train mainly for powerlifting and touch abit on olympic weightlifting too so any gym that caters to that direction would be great.

Ideally some place with quality barbells, quality squat/power rack, decent platform/space for deadlifting, allows heavy lifting(by that i mean allows some noise), supports chalk use(i have high doubts on the supporting chalk use thing but a guy can hope can't he )

Any help would be great.
Jabraan's Powerlifting Journey

27/3/17
Age: 23
Height: 170cm
Weight: 67kg(as of 3/17)

Hi, I've been lifting for abit over 2 years now(cumulatively. it's been 3 years since i began but I took about a year off in between due to a severe wrist injury) and I've never really had clear goals since the beginning up until about a few months ago where I got to know a lot more about powerlifting through watching youtube videos and such. Used to watch the Hodge Twins for general bodybuilding advice and for the laughs but later on I started watching Omar Isuf, and later Silent Mike, Mark Bell and others and really got interested in powerlifting. I realised that after awhile, the whole 'aesthetics' just didn't mean anything to me anymore and I wasn't really training with a purpose. Now, I have a very clear goal, gradually building up my strength in the 3 main lifts and hopefully in a few years, I'll be attending powerlifting meets and such.

So, although I've been lifting for a couple of years now, up until a few months ago, I've only been training my upper body(yes you know them leg days? I skipped ALL them leg days). I had this mentality that I didn't want my legs to grow big cuz for some reason I hated the look back then. So, I guess in the sense of powerlifting(Bench, Squat, Deadlift), you could say I'm a beginner except benching. Started squatting(with a smith machine as my nearby gym doesn't have a squat rack ) about 3 months ago and I've only started deadlifting bout 2 weeks ago(deadlifted 2 sessions so far).

Well, I just discovered this section in Lowyat and seems like a good idea to document my progress. Gonna update once in a while(probably when I hit new volume or one rep max(ORM) PRs) Here are my current stats:

Bench: 100kg(ORM)
Squat(Smith Machine): 80kg(5x5, ORM not tested)
Deadlift: 110kg(5x5, ORM not tested)

Hey guys, I'm just graduated from Matrikulasi and am looking to apply for medicine. I've already applied for UPU n USM. Since medic is such a competitive course, the way I see it is that I should apply for as many unis as possible so that my chances to secure a spot for myself in the medical world would be bigger. The thing is, I"m not well aware of what unis there are that offer medicine especially thsoe from overseas(those that accept matrik students). I'm also looking to apply for any scholarships that are available(at least try la kan) and the problem is the same, I don't know of many.

So, if anyone could kindly let me know what unis and scholarships I could apply to for medicine it'd be such a huge help.

MUET Retake lower than before?

Hey guys, I just came out of matrics n am still for results got a n UPU n stuff... I just recently got the results for my MUET retake, and unfortunately got a lower band than before. My question is since I filled in UPU using the results of my first MUET code...do I have to do anything so that they just look at my higher muet grade instead of the lower(retake) one?

Also, I've applied for USM and i've noticed that they don't even ask for your MUET grade.. so i'm guessing that they check it internally... how do I make sure that what they look at is the higher(original) muet grade and not the lower(retake) one?

Prices of Cheap Second-hand Cars?

So guys I'm still just an SPM leaver and I've a current budget of RM5k, I wanna ask that if I were to go for a cheap second-hand car, what would that get me? I'm not going for anything fancy, just a car that I could use to get myself from one place to another. I could potentially discuss with my parents to gain some extra support but RM5k is my starting point. So, ideas? Sorry if this question seems stupid but I really have no idea about the normal prices and such.

Hey guys, so a friend and I are still waiting for our SPM results and in the mean time we were both(separately) struck by the same idea, and that's travelling around east malaysia. We don't have our own cars(our parents' don't count) so we have decided to go BACKPACKING! All around East Malaysia and possibly Brunei as well. I'm from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and I've relatives in quite a few parts of Sarawak. But, the thing is that this would be our first backpacking experience and we'd need all the guidance we could get.

So, fellow backpackers and travelers, please share some of your travelling tips and/or experiences like what to bring(I've got camera gear as well)... what to do... what not to do... how much $$ will we need and so on. Really hope to hear from you guys =DD

Hairstyle for natural curls

Hey guys, so I've got naturally curly hair(lengthwise it basically covers the forehead and when pulled down it touches the nose) and I've been thinking of getting a sort of fixed style for it(I've just been letting it hang there all this time)

I've done some googling but haven't found one that I really want to go for yet.
Any suggestions on a particular hairstyle? And dyeing it to a colour that's not too far off from black is an option too if need be.

Sunrise. Kota Kinabalu. Where?

Sup LYers, I'm thinking of doing some street photography at the sunday market tomorrow morning and since I've gotta be up early anyway, I thought I might as well catch the sunrise too. It's a shame I need to ask this considering that I grew up in K.K but no harm in asking right? So my question is, for those that are familiar with Kota Kinabalu, where are some of the good spots to shoot the sunrise in K.K? Help is much appreciated

What Aspect Ratio Do You Guys Shoot In?

I've just started shooting not too long ago and only up till now did I realize that there is a fair selection of aspect ratios to choose from... up till now I've been shooting 3:2 and my question is what aspect ratio do you guys prefer and in what conditions would you use different ones? I'm sorry if this has been asked before...
