Ethiopian Airlines Flight 961, a Boeing 767-200ER, was hijacked on 23 November 1996, en route from Addis Ababa to Nairobi on a Bombay–Addis Ababa–Nairobi–Brazzaville–Lagos–Abidjan service, by three Ethiopians seeking asylum in Australia.[4] The plane crash-landed in the Indian Ocean near Grande Comore, Comoros Islands, due to fuel starvation; 125 of the 175 passengers and crew on board died, along with the hijackers; the rest of the people on board survived with injuries.

At the time this incident took place, it was the deadliest hijacking involving a single aircraft. It fell to second place with the 11 September 2001 attacks. The incident is the only true water landing of a widebody airliner with survivors. [Wikipedia]

Trick: How To Improve Faucet Water Pressure

Forumer at Serious Kopitiam complained about low water pressure at shower room basin faucet.
So, I decided to share the trick how to improve faucet water pressure.

Under most circumstances, low water pressure probably caused by:
1. Aging rusty galvanized pipes.
Solution: If your bank account is fat enough, you can change the whole house piping system to ABS/PVC/copper/stainless steel.

2. Sediment blockage at faucet outlet filter screen.
Solution: Clean and unblock the blockage. For guidelines, please refer to this video.

3. Air lock, a blockage in water pipe caused by a trapped bubble of air.
Solution: Please refer to below post for more details.

To purge out the trapped air bubble, bleed the system with following steps:
1. Open the faucet valve to max.
2. Locate the water supply shut off valve.
3. Loosen the "bonnet" of shut off valve with adjustable wrench.
4. Take out the bonnet and let the stream of water flow out from bonnet hole.
5. Meanwhile, check the condition of rubber washer. Replace if hardened or deformed.
6. Let the system bleed until solid stream of water flow out from bonnet hole.
7. Install and tighten back the bonnet.
8. Let the stream of water flow out form faucet for about 1 to 2 minutes.
9. Shut off the faucet valve.

To maintain the water pressure, occasionally purge and bleed the system.
The process also remove accumulated sediment, scale and rusty water.
Above methods also applicable to shower head.
