LCCI accounting, planning to work in singapore

Hey guys, I have a really hardworking friend from a single parent, middle-income family with a diploma in accounting (LCCI) from iPAQ. She got 3 distinctions and 2 credits for her exam, and she has been working in an audit firm for almost two years now.

She is 22, very hardworking and very promising, and she is planning to find a way to gain some working experience in Singapore. I need sifus advice here on two options, that is

1: is it possible for her to find work opportunities in Singapore, and how?
2: if she needs to top up her education, which is the best place for her to further her studies with a budget price in selangor (specifically, klang)?

She was previously from arts class in high school, with average results (like 5 As) in spm.

Thank you for all your help!

Is Intel HD Graphics good enough for Solidworks?

I've read a lot of posts about how people should go for dedicated graphics card like Nvidia or ATI, but due to budget constraints all my laptop options are offering Intel HD graphics: e.g. Dell Vostro 3360

1. Is it good enough for a normal Solidworks/Photoshop usage (i.e. not a heavy user of 500MB CAD files)?

2. What is the basic spec for running Solidworks/photoshop smoothly?

Thank you!

Harry Potter ArtScience Museum - Marina Bay Sands

I'm planning on a visit to the Harry potter exhibition but I haven't done much research on it and I'm not familiar with Singapore. I would really appreciate your advice and suggestion on coming up with an itinerary for the trip. Among my questions are:

1. How long will the tour in the Harry potter exhibition take?

2. Is it really necessary to book tickets to visit the place on Saturday (18/8)?

3. What other recommended places could I visit after the tour?

4. Any recommended food/restaurant around the area?

5. What was your itinerary when you travelled to the exhibition?

Thank you for your assistance on this!

Help on using GPS on Android

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 without offline maps like Papago or Sygic and only Google Maps and Navigation - whatever that is - installed. I am currently on Hotlink Youth Club Prepaid plan and I do not intend to switch my plan.

So let's say I'm on a road trip and I have yet to get myself offline map services. And I purchase the Rm2 = 100MB internet from Hotlink and I turn on my GPS signal and then Google Maps. Will it successfully - and seamlessly - get me from point A to point B within Klang Valley without much trouble? How about from KL to Semenyih?

What factors and questions should I ask consider when I am embarking on such a trip?

Rooting my I9100G

So I'm keen on rooting my I9100G to remove the bloatwares. However I am confused by the great amount of tutorials available out there (for non-Gs and Gs), and so far these are my findings:

My phone has the following specs:
Baseband Version: I9100GDXLP6
CSC: I9100GOLBLP6
Kernel Version: 3.0.8 dpi@DELL150 #2 SMP PREEMPT Wed May 23 19:18:19 KST 2012
Build Number: IML74K.DXLP6

I have managed to narrow the list of tutorials down to these:

1. Root access for ICS 4.03 on I9100G from XDA[TUTORIAL]

2. Galaxy S2 gt-i9100G: All things root (from Android Forums)

My current confusions are these:

3. Which version of Odin should I exactly use?

4. I have had my S2 driver manually installed, but the Kies I installed doesn't work - it can't connect to my phone. I'm afraid that it might mean something went wrong with the drivers installed (is it?).

5. My "baseband version" is I9100GDXLP6 but the people in XDA says to "flash" the LP7 kernel. Does this mean that my phone is of an older version? Should I be looking for an LP6 instead? Is it okay if I just proceed?

I would personally prefer the first method (at least I get what the person is understand - sorta), but I'm equally concerned about what happens after rooting my phone:

6. I don't quite know what is USB Jig about, and I have yet to find out where to get those stuff.

7. Is the "yellow triangle" only present on startup? Will it have any effect on the phone during usage?

8. What other questions should I ask myself?

Really appreciate all of your help here. Thank you!

Just how good is ICS compared to Gingerbread?

Right now we have relatively few phones supporting ICS, and many phones running on Gingerbread platform. Given the situation there are currently heaps of apps and softwares tailored to Gingerbread OS, as opposed to ICS-tailored apps. And given the level of phones adapting ICS, I'm uncertain whether ICS will fully replace Gingerbread in the very near future in terms of developers' preferred development platform and availability of apps.

Is it right to say that Gingerbread is somewhat like Windows XP? Despite the prevalence of Vista and Win7, it still stands strong, and most importantly: almost no developers will dare to develop a programme that isn't XP-compatible.

What's your take on Gingerbread and ICS' potential for the next 5 years? What advice have you got for a person who is getting a Gingerbread OS-phone that might not be issued an upgrade to ICS? Thank you!

QUOTE

The Kuok Foundation was set up by the Kuok family in 1970 to alleviate poverty and to reduce the economic disparities between the rich and poor communities in Malaysia. The Kuok family firmly believed in its social responsibility to share its wealth and good fortune with the less fortunate.

The Kuok family started business in Johor Bahru, Malaysia as Kuok Brothers Limited in 1949, trading rice, sugar and wheat flour. The family’s business activities expanded in 1953 with the opening of a Singapore branch named Kuok (Singapore) Limited. From these humble beginnings, the Kuok Group of Companies has expanded to become one of Asia’s most diversified and dynamic multinational conglomerates.

That's it? I want to know more. Can anyone please enlighten me on Kuok Foundation? Thank you!

I'm getting a Galaxy S Advance soon, and I have seen my friends playing Playstation 1 games (King of Fighters etc) with their S2. I have also seen my friend playing Pokemon Gameboy games with her iPhone 4. Basically from my point of view, anything that can be done with an iPhone CAN be done with an Android. As I'm still very new to Android, I'd appreciate any advice or tutorials on installing these games onto a Gingerbread OS.

I'm ONLY interested in Metal Slug and Pokemon gameboy games (Heart Gold/Soul Silver and before).
