Need help with UCCW.

Hi Lowyat forummers, good day.

I recently bought a Sony lik Ultra, I need you guys to help me, if you would be so kind to do so. Particularly those who knows about UCCW and Android in general.

1. How do I change the image used as task buttons (or whatever you Android pros call it, it's the bar with the back, home, and recent apps button) on the bottom of the screen, without rooting, if possible?

I installed the Evangelion NERV UCCW theme and I got this:

When it should be this (notice the task buttons):

There are images of those buttons in the UCCW .rar file which I downloaded, so I'd wager that I have to somehow edit the buttons and replace the images with the ones in the package.

I know this is insignificant but my OCD is buzzing in my head.

2. I recently updated my phone to- well, not KitKat but the quick settings access changed so that it's in another tab than the notifications. If possible, I want to change it back to the usual "quick access on top, notifications on the bottom" layout.

(No screenshots, because I can't screenshot the quick settings bar, ehe.)

Thanks in advance. I still have some questions but I forgot what they were, so I'll update them when I remember what they are.

For now, thanks.

Yours sincerely.

Recommend me some cheap, rigid earbuds

I bought a pair of Sonic Gear Spark Plug earbuds and it was good in quality. Good in sound quality, that is. The damn thing broke in a period of 2 months and I have no intention of fixing it, it might just mess up again. Not to brag, but I'm quite tall, like around 188-190 cm, and the wire can't reach the phone in my pocket, resulting in the wires getting yanked around. This maybe the main reason my earbuds mess up so easily. RM30+ (Not cheap, Tesco) is taken away from me for 2 months of audio, and that is unacceptable, this is treachery!

So, I need you good people to recommend me some good earbuds. Good as in it won't break too soon and can take quite a beating.

What I need is a pair of earbuds that:

-is below RM50/40 in price.
-has a wire that's long enough, 1.5-1.8m would be nice. <IMPORTANT>
-Can take some yanking and beating without revealing inner copper wires and stuff. (Won't break easily) <IMPORTANT>
-has acceptable sound quality. I mostly listen to J-Pop so one that's geared towards vocal quality will be nice.
-features a 2-ring audio jack. Had some problems with 3-ring jacks. <IMPORTANT>
-is in-ear earbuds.
-Preferably original product.

I'm thinking of something by Sony, since... you know, Sony. Good audio products. But rarely there is something that is that cheap from Sony, and even if there is, it will be crap in performance, or made by Sony's retarded cousin, Somy.

I've seen Beats earplugs on shelves for RM20+. Judging by the packaging that looks like it's printed from a 2001 HP printer, it's a bootleg product. But is it worth it?

Thank you very much, people, in advance.

PS3 sound problem, please help!

Hi,

I've been having this sound problem on my PS3. I know you guys don't have much of an eye for the PS3, seeing that the PS4 is coming soon, but I really, really need your help. Game-based audio from my PS3 is kinda jumpy, and this is seen from 2 games so far.

The first is Hatsune Miku Project Diva F (Disc), where the music and singing both mutes for a while, in a 2-3 second interval. Mute, not pause. Gameplay goes as usual, but seeing that the song and music is an integral part of this game, this is really pissing me off.

Secondly, WipEout HD (Digital). There's not much to worry since the music is not important, in fact, in-game music is unaffected. The music in the main menu experiences the same symptom where it mutes-play-mutes-play in a similar fashion.

This happens on both digital and physical copy of games, so I guess I can rule out the Blu-Ray lens being the culprit. But I'm kinda' worried about the state of my machine. MP3 is flawlessly played, but music in these games have not. Especially music in Project Diva F.

As for other games, I can't really say. It's SPM and I can't sit down and enjoy games for more than 1 hour.

You might say that "it's nothing to be afraid of", but I prefer to keep my machine in tip-top condition. As the saying goes, "for want of a nail, a horseshoe was lost, and for that, a steed, and for a steed, the war was lost".

My technologically-illiterate dad frequently turns off the whole TV-Astro-PS3 set via the main switch frequently, if you must ask. I think this contributes to the problem. I hope not.

I hope you guys can help me out here.

Are the prices on the Malaysian PSN too high?

I'm still not sure whether to get Project Diva F/f for the Vita or the PS3... I'm leaning on the Vita ver, because it's portable. But the Omoji Pack (MUST HAVE) is a ripoff, IMHO.

Anyway, I digress. What do you people think about the prices of the stuff we get on the Malaysian PSN, compared to others? Cheaper? Hell of a lot more expensive? Pray tell. I'm on edge here.

You can tell me to get it from another store, but this is the Vita we're talking about. Account locked.

How do I get money into my PSN wallet?

I'm the kind of guy who goes all rhetorical and uses fancy questions when posting in a forum, but this time I'm just gonna go straight to the point. There's this game I want on the Vita (not mentioning names) and there's this DLC that I REALLY want. I'm gonna go get the phys ver. of the game, but the DLC is one problem. How can I get money into my PSN wallet?

Now I know what you're thinking. Credit cards are a no-no for me, neither are debit cards. I can never pull off any of that banking stuff (damnit mom), and I heard that Malaysian PSN cards are hard to come by.

Now you MAY give me a link to some dude on the forum who sells these codes/cards, which is cool and legit, but keep in mind that I can't do banking, so no money transfer from me.

TL;DR,

1. I can't do ANY form of banking/money transfer/credit card business.
2. I can't shop online.
3. PSN cards are rare, and I don't go out shopping much.

What options do I have left? Help a brother out here, man. Thanks.

P/S: Moderators, sorry if this is in the wrong section. I don't do much forums, and Lowyat is pretty much the only forum I'm active in.

Some Questions About Project Diva F/f, here.

So. A teeny-weeny pocket-money Hatsune Miku fan wants the game, Hatsune Miku Project Diva F/f I am a little confused about the game, though. Here are some questions I'd like to ask you LowYat communities:

1. Do we Malaysian gamers get the English version of the game on PSN? I can't seem to find it in English on PSN.
2. IS there even an English version of the game?
3. Is it true that there's a DLC with extra content, but the extra content is available for purchase within a time limit?
4. How much will it cost me (physical PSV/digital PSV and physical PS3/digital PS3)?
5. Does it comply with Sony's Cross-Buy promotion?

Now these may be irrelevant to the topic but here:

6. Can I change the PS Vita menu language, like in the PS3? My cousin is getting me one from Japan.
7. How rare is a Malaysian PSN card?

Now, I apologize if this is already in the forum, but I can't find it. So I figure I'd post a new topic.

I'm worried about the new 4.31 PS3 update...

I just came home, and turned on my PS3. While I was trying to log into my PSN, it says it needs to update. Seeing that updating through a PC is easier, I downloaded the update via my laptop. While waiting for the update to finish downloading, I typed "PS3 4.31" into Google and got a suggestion "PS3 4.31 problem" and decided to check it out. Good thing I didn't apply the update yet *phew* because I ended up with this:

PlayStation Network Forums

So I did a little research. Being a Malaysian, a PS3 isn't cheap, and it's my prized possession. Don't wanna get that screwed up.

And when I take a look at it properly, I see this, on asia.playstation.com:

PlayStation Asia PlayStation 3 Update

The update notification didn't pop up until today, and yet the website said that the update is released on 2012. THAT'S LAST YEAR!!!

This is really dubious. I have a PS3 CECH3006B model, and have anyone installed the update? Can anyone tell me if it's okay?

For now I'll just keep my PS3 un-updated, at least until I get some serious response.

I need help with my crashing problem!

Recently I bought a cheap, 7-inch Android Chinese tablet running Android 4.0.4 from Low Yat Plaza, but it frequently crashed. Ever since I left the store, it's been crashing and freezing like hell.

When it crashes, the screen shows vertical lines, some white and some colorful, frantically flashing left to right.

When it freezes, the screen goes unresponsive, with a barely noticeable silhouette of green on everything.

I don't think it's because of performance issues, because the freezing/crashing happens randomly; it can happen in the menu, but barely happens while playing Fruit Ninja. Any help in rectifying this problem would be appreciated.

P/S: I would post some pictures of the tablet freezing/crashing soon, if I can get it to crash again.
PP/S: I'm sorry if this is not put in the proper category, if any mods consider this question of mine is out of place, please transfer it to the appropriate section. Thank you.

Resident Evil's Horror Downfall

Dear nice, honest, users of the LowYat forum,

I started this thread to discuss with you people about the factors of people complaining about the recent Resident Evil titles being not scary. Many fans have been disappointed by this, and no matter how good the game can be, we Resident Evil fans can no longer respect Resident Evil as a horror game, instead as an action game. But what are the in-game factor that caused this uproar?

In my opinion there are several factors:

LACK OF DARK AREAS
As an achluophobic gamer, the recent games failed to scare me because of the bright, calm and relaxing environment. Resident Evil 5 was even set in the daylight in Africa, not to mention Resident Evil 4, which was set in an European setting, though I must say the fog does induce a quite creepy atmosphere. Though I must say that the operation room in Resident Evil 4 (the place where you first met the Regeneradors) and Ashley's venture into the castle basement gave me nightmares. In conclusion, less shadows=less monsters that want to ambush you.

LACK OF THE ELEMENT OF SURPRISE
There's less surprise in the recent Resident Evil games. If you notice, most Resident Evil games from the good old times has only 1-5 enemies in an area at a time. In recent games, there are practically HORDES of "not zombies" that makes the player too busy to feel scared by the atmosphere. Though there are still some Easter Egg surprises in the two games (Resident Evil 4&5), such as the Oven Man from Resident Evil 4 and the Portable Toilet Man from Resident Evil 5, but this doesn't count as nightmare-inducing.

Please add any other reason you see fit to restore Resident Evil back to its throne of horror games.

Yours Sincerely,

SiputCiput

WIRELESS, I Choose Youuuuu!

Hi, I've installed Streamyx a few years back in my abode, and it hasn't stopped churning up problems for me ever since. Recently, a few months back, I upgraded to a Wi-Fi modem/router, (D-Link Wireless G ADSL2+ Router, DSL-2640B) and this particular infernal problem came up again.

I only have a laptop, and the Wi-Fi on it's fine. I have also received a 1Malaysia netbook, as a student. The Wi-Fi on this device is also fine. I also have a PlayStation® 3 system, given by my uncle for my PMR results, which also have a pristine Wi-Fi connection.

This condition occurs when I observe the normal Wi-Fi signal bar on the taskbar, albeit accompanied by a black exclamation mark in a yellow triangle. During this state, I cannot go online unless the device is connected with an Ethernet cable directly to the router. Both the laptop and the netbook are incapable of wireless fidelity during this state, and are required to connect through a newly made wired broadband connection, which I need to manually connect every time I fire up the laptop/netbook.

But even connecting through a wired connection isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes, when I attempt to connect to the Internet, there will be an error, stating that I entered the wrong password or username, or the Internet protocol doesn't "something-something". (Forgive me, for I am a beginner in the field of computers.)

Interestingly enough, my PlayStation® 3 system can connect to the internet through Wi-Fi just fine, giving me access to PlayStation® Network, PlayStation® Store and PlayStation® Home.

I tried many solutions, but to no avail. I tried restarting the router, an obvious solution that any person would take. I also tried resetting the modem, through the pin-sized switch.

None of these simple solutions are effective in dealing with my problem. So, I beg for all of you computer enthusiasts to lend me a hand with my infernal devices.

Note: I am currently typing through a wired connection.

Of HDMI and PS Move

24-12-2011. It was Christmas Eve. But I'm not celebrating it since I'm not a Christian. But because I got 7 out of 8 As in PMR, I bought a PS3 model CECH-3006B at Empire's Sony Center as a complimentary gift for me and my family. I lost the PS Move bundle to some guy. (DAMN!) It was the last one in stock. Well, I'll have to make do without the Move controller. I could've gotten the HDMI for free. But rumors among me, my cousin, and some Sunway Pyramid Sony Center manager states that whether I get the Move bundle or not, I'm still entitled to get a free HDMI. A MYR86 value! So, my questions are:

1. Is it true? Is it true that I just got ripped off by the Empire Shopping Galler Sony Center manager? Should I go to the store and flip out on him? Is it true that the PS3 comes with a supplementary HDMI cable?

2. Where can I find the PS Move controller for the cheapest price possible? I'm not used to shop online, so please state the physical location of the store. I'm looking for the prices of

i. PS Move Sports Champion Bundle
ii. PS Move Motion Controller (Wand controller)

I would like to express my gratitude in advance.
