Brother J315W does not show as online

Just purchased a brother all in one J315W which is a wireless printer. So i configured the printer to join our home SSID and it did connect successfuly as well. But after installing software to laptop connected to same wireless SSID, it shows the printer as offline. Was digging this and that, and can't work it out to appear online. Not much settings to do be done on printer side as well.

And just to make sure that this has to do something with router, i did setup my galaxy nexus as an access point, connected the brother printer to my phone ssid and laptop as well to phone SSID, and bingo, everything works fine.

Now the issue is that i am not sure which settings of the router is actually hindering and not showing my printer as online. There is nothing blocked by default on the router. Default tm unifi setup router.

some assistance would be greatful to resolve this.

PM post to be visible in email notification

Currently when someone sends out a PM, we do get an email alert saying there is a message with the subject "xxx", but the 'post' is not visible in the email itself.

It would be great if we could see the post in email, so that we can reply to PM that we feel is important and keep other PMs to be replied later.

Considering the increase in number of smartphone users - push email notifications. Thus comes in handy, rather than logging to the forum on the move to check.

It would be great if the server can look up on the client browser and check details such as whether it's a portable device and automatically redirect to the mobile version of the forum.

Harddisk Failed

Okie.. i have a harddisk with spoiled PCB, need to recover data from the harddisk..got some important stuff..

I heard the only option is to replace the PCB board with exact model and firmware version of the spoiled harddisk..

Question is.. is it easy to get PCB boards? :S i mean the same exact model and firmware version..

any other solutions available..?

I have encountered this problem 5-6 times already.. when i click my assistant, the window is redirected to forum index page only

But i notice when you click the " Post #1938 " to get the link for tat particular post and then when you actually paste in another window.. the page u see is page 98, while the actual post is in page 97..

How to use my speakers and headphone concurrently huh? is this possible..? currently my headphones connected to pc via a usb sound device and speakers connected to onboard sound in mobo.

when i plug in my usb sound device.. i can hear thru my headphone which is of cos connected to it.. but no sound thru speakers..

when i remove the usb sound device..then onboard sound works..

is there any alternative? maybe some kinda adapater or something?

harddisk problem

My spare pc giving some problems recently.. suddenly cannot boot windows.. say unable to boot.... so i took out my seagate IDE harddisk.. try to use the IDE to USB cable to backup data.. still doesnt work.. cant see...

so i put it back in my pc again.. sometimes bios can see.. sometimes bios cannot see..

tried to install xp.. but fails....

damn.. hdd dead?!

How to burn VCD into DVD?

hey guyz.. i wana burn few videos movies into DVD-R as video as it is much better than just burning 1 movie as DVD into 1 whole DVD-R. If i burn as VCD, i can burn like 3 movies as VCD into DVD-R. I heard there are ways to do this.. but not sure.. trying to find out.. in the meantime..if anyone has experience in this.. please drop ya ideas..
