Maxis config dns issue

Hi everyone,is maxis now start to block public dns already?
Normally I use my main android mobile device (under maxis) open hotspots,then My sub android device connect through main android hotspots, and try to config dns from dhcp to static by using google dns 8.8.8.8 and the results now is fail already
Anyone gt idea why?
Is vpn is the only option left?
