Simple kitchen reno

Hi, I'd like to share my simple kitchen reno, after learning from other forumers here.

Here's the original plan of lower ground of a corner unit house, bought without really having a chance to choose design, so I made do with whatever I have with a very low budget. I must have a sink overlooking my garden . And with a huge family and lots small children in mind.

Red lines show wall that have been hacked, blue is new wall, white is new piping that has been extended from the bathroom. My contractor digged the soil to cover the piping outside.

Original guestroom is the new kitchen, the utility room turns into a guestroom, original dry kitchen a family/kids area, original wet kitchen a laundry area now.

The walls at the original guestroom being hacked

The window was uplifted so I could put in cabinets

and this is the kitchen.

I'm an Ikea freak. I made 5 trips during their kitchen promo, loading As Is stuffs in my car, all cabinets and the SS sink I got for only about rm7k. White apron sink is from my old place. Did this 2 years ago. Total reno cost also about rm7k (to me this is expensive ).

Stopped work as I'm still looking for subway tiles (got one contact already but no money yet) to make my dream cheap country kitchen finally comes true . And two hoods when I have the money.

A lot of action has been going on here, lots of baking too. I'm glad I decided to have two huge sinks. I just dump all my baking stuffs in the white sink without disturbing my cooking area. Kids wash their hands here without being near the stoves. Happy also to have two stoves as both husband and I can work together. Fridge is located besides the oven cabinet. I'm happy with this choice too as kids can just open close the fridge 100 times a day without disturbing me.

My regret is I should make a trip to Sg to get another apron sink instead of the SS as Ikea here no longer sells that.

Will also add this at the dark wall when I found one at the As Is , at the moment I just use another ikea free-standing cabinet as temporary work area, and drill holes for the wall shelves after finally getting my tiles there.

Will also put some artwork on the wall above the oven cabinets as this is the first thing guests see when they enter my house . I put two cabinets as I thought I wanted another oven, but now change my mind. I will just put a door there, some drawers to turn that into a mini pantry. Will change the curtain to blinds also.

May also change the light, it's a little too dark with the spotlight, and will also add a baby fan. maybe in another 2 years only my kitchen will be complete. . Will post it here.

Thanks for reading.

Complain on JMB

Hi,

Need some help. I'm not happy with the way the management of my condo handling something. When I tried to discuss with the chairman of the JMB, he asked me to talk to the management. Both said the ruling on the collection of temporary passes fee has gone through the committee but refused to show me the proof or minute.

Say, if I still can't get the proof, where can I complain? This year's AGM was done recently. I didn't bring this up during the meeting thinking it's a small matter. But later I talked personally to the chairman. He said something contradicting to what the management told me. My hunch is telling me something fishy is going on.

Thanks in advance

Discount of agent fee

Just a quick one. I understand that normally agent gets 1 month rental as his/her commission for a successful deal, normally for a year or more contract. If I manage to get a tenant for only a 6-month contract, is it appropriate for me to ask some discount for the agents fee.

Thanks in advance.
