Reason for sale:

Upgrading to a Z77 system with watercooling.

I personally built this system in July 2009. So far it has been very stable.
The CPU is mildly overclocked at 3.4Ghz 24/7 and is very stable. Temperature under load never goes beyond 50C.

Able to run latest games such as Battlefield 3, Mass effect, Crysis 2 and Skyrim at highest graphic settings with resolution of 1920 x1080 at >50 FPS.

Please note that if you're going to run the system with graphic card such as gtx570, a good 600w PSU is a minimum ( I use a 800w Gigabyte Odin). Anything less may cause instability.

Flashing Ainol Aurora Firmware

Hi

As you guys are well aware, ICS only been officially out around 2 months, so there is still a lot of issue with regards to stability and compatibility. So there will be a need for flashing the firmware(think of it as reformat and clean install)

Let me clear one thing first. I am in no part involved in the writing or tweaking of the software. Give credit to the proper people please, I take no credit in it. This guide is just to simplify and point people to the right direction with regards to flashing their firmware, especially those who are very new to flashing their tablets.

First of all, go to

Download PDAnet for android. the reason for this is to get the ADB driver for your tablet(I know the driver supposedly included in the livesuit package, somehow it didnt work for me. So this is just really to make sure the driver works)
Install and follow the instructions.

Then go to this link

and download whichever version of the ROM to your liking. Extract the file into a folder named ainol on your desktop(for ease of use, you can actually name it anything or put it anywhere). You can also download the official firmware from ainol website. the installation method is the same.

I personally has tested all of the version including from latest one.
What i would recommend is either version 4.01(first one) or 4.03 v4
So far they are the most stable. My only issue is that all the 4.03 versions came with Nova launcher instead of the default launcher. To be fair Nova launcher is pretty much similar to the default one, but i just dont like it.
You can uninstall Nova launcher using software like titanium backup(download from market) but make sure you install another launcher first eg Go Launcher Ex(download from market)
Versions 4.03 v2 or v3 tend to cause touchscreen jitters and reduce its sensitivity. I found those very annoying.
but after the flash, youtube, market and voice search/typing would work amongst others.(details of other improvement is on the site)
Oh, it also will uninstall all chinese softwares.

You can also download the official firmware from ainol website. the installation method is the same.

On the site you will also find the plus package.
Will tell u how to add the plus packages later.

Then, download the livesuit software

create a new folder(for ease of use just name is livesuit)
extract the zip file into this folder and double click on the livesuitpack icon,
it should further extract(u will see more items in the folder)
Then you will see a LiveSuit application file. Double click on that and livesuit will be running.

Now, you have all the ingredients to start flashing your tablet.

Switch your tablet off.
Attached are a pictorial guide on how to flash your tablet.
Have a read first to get some idea.

Once you have finished flashing and take some time and ensure everything works ie camera, wifi, market etc.
Say if the market keep saying error when u want to download, go to market app info( can do this by dragging the market icon to the app info at the top of screen when in app screen) clear data and cache and the remove your google account from tablet and sign in again to market. that usually will fix it.

To install the plus packages(for this tablet need to be in USB debugging mode, the tablet also need to be on, can turn on debugging mode in setting>developer option> USB debugging)

Download and extract the files.
then double click on the !N7ESS_PLUS_PACKAGE (windows batch file).
then follow the onscreen instruction.
I would recommend to just install the flash and opera. make browsing so much faster.

to make whatsapp works, (make sure your mobile phone is closeby)
just download whatsapp from market as usual.
register your phone number in whatsapp as usual.
whatsapp will then proceed to verify your phone by sending sms.
of course the sms will be sent to your phone and after about 4 minutes it will say they failed to verify that your phone has an sms service etc.
it will give an option for you to receive a call from them to give activation code.
take this option and listen to the automated voice giving out the code, usually just 3 numbers and type them in la.
voila, now whatsapp works on your tablet. now you just have to add your contacts saja la to the tablet.

Warning!! you can only register one number per whatsapp. ie cannot use whatsapp on phone and tablet using one number.
they will block one(usually the older one, if it's your phone then whatsapp there cannot work) then u have to uninstall both and reinstall whatsapp on the device u wanna use.

Same principle for viber.

I have tested both and it works. with viber u can actually make free calls(over the net obviously) to your viber friends.

oh, of course by flashing the tablet all data will be wiped. make sure back up any important data first.

sounds like a lot of stuff, but the actual flashing takes only about 3 minutes je once got everything downloaded.
